  1. The code isnt all that strage. Just a few taps of the joystick and its unlocked, it takes maybe all of five seconds. Besides, half the fun of Atari is DISCOVERY! : )
  2. Hehe thats a good idea~! We could call them "The Jaggies"
  3. It would be nice if it had a cartridge bay and controllers that were more comforatable. Even something along the lines of a NES-style joypad. If they felt the need to bring over the keypad they could do so trough a tiny keypad with buttons comparable to the size of those found on a tiny pocket calculator, placed comforatably on a NES-style joypad. More importantly I wish they would just hurry up.
  4. This is typical of DP. Even moreso if the game was indeed faked. Every time I go over there I thank God for AA and the good group of people we have over here.

    4800

Dude... its a simple TYPO. Dig this - Type in "7800" on your keyboard's number pad twelve times really fast. If you're not careful, you could slip ur finger down onto the key right beneath the 7, which just so happens to be a 4. Hence the 4800. It's either a TYPO or they are just plain ignorant.
  6. Ferris Bueller's Day Off - get thru the day without being caught by Mr. Rooney! - Level One - Convince your parents your sick and can stay home from school. - Level Two - Get the Ferrari out of Cameron's Dad's garage - Level Three - Pick up Sloane - Level Four - Navigate through the city to get to the the ball park, to lunch, through the parade, and back to the parking garage without being spotted by Rooney or your dad. - Level Five - Get back to your bedroom without Genie getting to you first. - Level Six - What? You're still HERE? Go!
  7. This is all really simple - The bottom line is Sony won. That's what they did right. And you cant hold that against them.
  8. Curt has made it evidently clear that the next Flashback will accept small cards or chips or something with original Atari binary files that will play through real hardware. What that hardware is I do not know. But no matter what, it will not be an actual 2600 or 8-Bit. It may run the software, but its a Flashback, not a 2600, etc. Therefore the license would not apply. Secondly, even if it were an actual 2600 or whatever, the license would have long expired. Example - Telegames' Chuck Norris Superkicks. That's not to say that Namco or Activision or Epyx wouldnt cut a deal with Infogrames to allow those titles to be put out.
  9. This past week marked the fifth anniversary of the Atari7800.com domain name being on line. I wanted to thank everyone for five years of 7800 gaming fun and excitement! The domain name was first purchased in an ebay auction for $15 in September of 2000 with the intent of linking it to a small record label that a friend of mine was trying to start. Soon after the purchase, the potential of the domain name was realized and the rest is history. Atari7800.com has undergone many changes since it first went live on October 7th, 2000. On January 1st of this year we launched Atari7800.com's sister site, TurboGrafx-16.com which celebrates the extensive line of NEC's American PC Engine machines. Much has changed in the past five yers, we have met some wonderful people along the way, and we are now running the "Mark IV Website" as what is up now is the fourth generation site which has been on line since October of 2003 to celebrate the 7800's 20th anniversary. A modified new look and extensive new content will come to be in 2006, so keep an eye out for many new additions! If you click on the picture below you will see a screen shot of our very first placeholder from September of 2000. So much has changed since then. Thanks again for five great years! We all look forward to many more years of being a monument to one of the most beautiful and most overlooked game systems of all time. Regards, Justin
  10. There's a page on the defunct side of my website that has been down (or at least hidden) for about 2 years now. Scroll down towards the bottom of the page and you will see tons of 7800 development tools. Justin http://www.atari7800.com/download/index.htm
  11. I hear Pole Position and RoadBlasters are pretty similar too!
  12. SOLD on ebay for $500! To an AtariAger no less! Thanks!!!
  13. bump I posted it to ebay this morning. Bidding starts at $0.01 - If anyone is interested here is the listing : eBay :: 3DO M2 Prototype Development System - Panasonic FZ-DR21 Cheers! Justin
  14. I'm selling off my 3DO M2 dev system. There are a few of these floating around but they are still quite rare. This is the white M2 unit in good condition. Will ship anywhere for free. I paid $680 for the system at the begining of the year and never got around to developing anything so I am parting with it. I'm open to offers, PM me if interested!
  15. There's a few of them floating around, I've seen them a few times. From my experience, it seems as if most of the ones left do not have the metal name plate affixed to the system. They are out there though, some of the AA moderators have some as well as some other well-known Atari figures throughout the community.
  16. Got mine last night. I love it!
  17. ...all of a sudden AtariAge feels like a Kentucky truck stop.
  18. Well it's not Survivor. It's a show about entrepreneurialism. You either dig it or you don't. I really enjoyed it.
  19. I highly suggest 4 bottles of booze to go along with the rest of the assortment.
  20. To me some of the most interesting "Atari prices" came during the mail order days of the 1990s. Where I lived, you couldn't get 2600 and 7800 games in the stores after 1992, not even and Big Lots or Sears Liquidation centers, so I would call and deal with Atari directly like a vendor would. They used to send me out little price lists and flyers of what they had. Getting little letters in the mail directly from Atari are some of my greatest memories of middle school! Here is one of the price lists from Fall 1993. It is posted in my Atari Documents Library at - www.atari7800.com/html/documents_7800pricelist.htm
  21. I believe there are plans for a PAL version. I'm sure Curt will chime in soon. Justin BTW - Thomas, that's very upsetting to me that Thrust will not be on any of the Flashback 2 units. I was more excited to see that game on FB2 than anything else, even the new CX40s. It's a shame Atari was not able to cut a square deal. Thrust would have been the most popular title on there by far.
  22. I feel a little uncomforatable with this thread being that there are a few to many newbies with 0 joysticks posting in a forum that doesnt seem to make much sense. Kinda reminds me of the Airworld post a few years back. Hmmm maybe I'm just paranoid.
  23. This question comes up all the time and the answer is always the same - NO.
