ok.. not to get in big debate here;) but I have litterally cleaned a few thousand games over the years.. I always like trying different chemicals for different jobs.. what I found best for games is a product called 'Air Intake Cleaner" this can be bought at any auto parts store. This product is not to be confused with Carb Spray,, but may also be called 'Throttle Body Cleaner". Its a product used to clean the hard-gunked carbon buildup on the back of throttle blades. If you like rubbing alcohal.. you will LOVE this stuff.. use a qtip.. try not to get alot of this on the case housing (it will melt M Network plastic). Ive had carts that I cleaned three times with rubbing alcohol and still wouldnt load up when pluged into my vcs.. than just a quick clean with this stuff.. bamm! same with real sensitive or dirty paddle controllers,, if reg contact cleaner doesnt work.. one shot of this and they will! this stuff is caustic tho.. use with much more caution than you would use with alcohol.. like I said,, no debates please.. if you dont like this idea and want to preach alcohol.. fine.. but honestly.. Ive tried all types of cleaners,, and I clean every cart I sell.. and Im a lazy ass so I like to find the easiest way:) this is deff it..

does anyone find it odd this seller happens to find all these 'never used' ataris.. maybe 'never used by' someone like Sadam or Osama.. but used by every other freaking kid in town!

I know what you are having probs with.. seen it many of times.. Take off your r/f shielding, locate the audio tuner shaft.. thats that big red/orange thing that sticks up like 3/4 of an inch and has a alen head screw inside the plastic tube,, about 3/16th wide.. even has a hole cut in the r/f shielding to get access to this allen head screw,, easy to find. If ther is any rust it this sucker.. this could be the prob.. or if you got cleaner in this (or maybe even armor all;) this could possibly be your prob.. however.. what I more likely think, after locating the the tuning tower.. useing it as a center point.. look just off to the upper right for two resistors that have a CLEAR plastic coating on them, at around the 2o'clock postition (this is for a four switcher, 6 swither is near the tower, sorry no pics, Im too lazy to mess with em;).. usually what I see with the sound fading out and not coming back it that these resistors are toast. Ive personnally exsperianced this more than once for the Electronic Componet Cleaner I use when I recondition a 2600 is REAL strong and if I get some of this cleaner on these resistors.. when I test the unit after the recon, the sound does just what you describe.. works,, fades out.. never comes back. I usually just change the tuning tower and the resistiors as a set when I exsperiance this problem. This is the most common thing.. hope you know how to solder;) Other, more uncommon possiblities, r/f tuner bad, bad comp chip.. these are rare tho..

got a response.. seems may be believable?? Dude, I've never touched this thing. I got it as a holiday gift in the 80's and from the box I could tell that its lone game sucked compared to the loads of Atari games I was playing at the time. It was immediately branded as a "bad gift" and went back in the box. Never even hooked it up. I remember lying to the aunt that gave the thing to me when she asked me how the games were... I had no idea. That being almost 20 years ago, I can't remember what happened to the inserts. You are correct that it is not new, but I did not advertise it as such and am not lying when I say this thing has never been used. If you feel the auction is misleading then I will cancel and start over with better wording. Not out to scam. Take care. C

ive had enough peeps request those.. that Id of not let em go for less than $25 (in good shape of course) Anyone ever seen one of the Orange ones?? I have a box for a Orange one.. but when I opened it, it had a standard Gray one in it (wich i've heard was a acceptable practice from Atari??)
