  1. As far as size, anything over 32K can't be played from the regular Harmony cart. At the moment however, there's only one game that I'm aware that's more than 32k (it's 64k). It's called MegaBoy by Dynacom. It's an educational game, and not in English (I think it's Portuguese...?). As for any other way to tell if a homebrew won't work on the regular Harmony cart, I'm not aware of it (doesn't mean there isn't though...)
  2. Flicker an an Atari 2600? Unheard of!
  3. Nice review - I was out of breath when it was done!
  4. Impressive! My calculations concluded between 4-1/2 to 5 hours for that...You beat it!
  5. I've been trying to win a game of ice hockey...I suck. But I think it cheats!
  6. I got the flashback 2 and 5 (with paddles) before I got the Harmony cart. Since then, I haven't been interested in a Flashback. HOWEVER...I'm definitely interested in the portable. It would be great if it were compatible with the Harmony cart (my gut says it won't be), but I have a boatload of original carts that I can dust off and play on the go!
  7. I just tried out this .bin It is utterly incredible.
  8. I'm in total agreement! There are some good game elements in it, some which weren't previously seen on the 2600, but it's not a very deep game. I've always thought the early levels were the toughest because they move slow but shoot fast. Once they start moving fast, they try too hard to move toward you before shooting and are more predictable. Which is why high scores are achievable if you just wait them out.
  9. I just saw this today so I'm a little behind the curve! Once I did, I quickly played Laser Blast to get past the first patch level. Laser Blast was the first non-Atari made game I got for my VCS. It was also only one of two that I earned a patch for, the other being Dragster (I didn't have a camera back then so I never got the patch). So I'm not certain I'll be able to earn any other patches here. We'll see...! I did this using Stella, but I still have my original cartridge I bought in the early eighties!

  12. I got my Atari VCS (as it was known then) in early 1981, and pretty much played it into the ground about '84 - '85. Instead of replacing it, I got a Commodore 64 and my interests became more interested in computer games. (I missed the whole NES thing as a result!) I started to use emulators in the mid or late nineties as the emulators got better. I finally got a hardware replacement for my VCS last year, with a 7800.
  13. I received the Harmony Encore a couple weeks ago, and it hasn't left the cartridge holder of my Atari 7800 since! Excellant work! Thanks so much!
