  1. not sure this should be here as it's not really technical but how the heck are you guys fitting these into shells? i bought an xe cart (barnyard blaster) as a donor, yesterday my friendly repairs expert came around (i don't get out and cant do anything like this myself) he opened the donor and after multiple attempts and dremmeling the shell to within an inch of it's life the cart simply doesnt fit, its too thick, the big black connector with the pins inside is simply deeper than the half of the shell it's suppose to fit in, the only way i can think of would be to cut right through the case and expose the connector to the outside. any clues?
  2. does anyone know if there is a v.smile flash cart (sd or usb) or multicart that is currently available.?
  3. this cart is just looking better and better, cant wait.
  4. yes, i'm in touch with the gamate dumping group and know that mateos flashcart exists however i'm sad to say that i'm not in a position to afford to buy (even if i could find) the rare undumped carts which seem to go for £stupid, probably partially caused by members of that same group and outsiders bidding against each other to get hold of these games, which remember are almost totally unplayable given the quality of the gamates terrible blurry screen.
  5. i could do with help finding a skunkboard v3 or later, ebay prices are insane. as for the ones you are chasing, the neo flash masta is for the ngp (available now http://www.flashmasta.com/ )and the concerto is almost here for the 7800 (some are already in the wild), for the lynx the best currently available is mateos lynx flashcard and usb burner ( http://www.vectrex.hackermesh.org/index.php/en/mvbd-mvmc-3/faq ) (you'll need the burner and the flashcard). as for the ones i have sms ed (sms) pce ed (pc engine) n64 ed (n64) n8 ed (nes) neo geo linker (neo geo pocket) wondermagic color (wonderswan) x-drive (pocketstation) mateos 16 in 1 vectrex flashcard mateos 8 in 1 supervision flashcard mateos 16 in 1 lynx flashcard ez flash 4 (gba) ed md (megadrive) atarimax coleco sd ultimate sd ultimate (atari hcs/xegs) cuttle cart (intellivision) gb xchanger (gbc) psx x-changer (gbc / n64 from a ps1) bung fal (gba) dr v64 (n64) dr v64 jr (n64) flashboy (virtual boy) harmony (2600) c4cpc (gx4000) gbed (gb/gbc) pocketvoice (gbc) pseudosaturn (saturn) in addition i have various multicarts or sd / usb devices for numerous home computers. ones i'm always looking for are flashcarts for jaguar, v-smile, pokemon mini and gamate if anyone knows a source for any.
  6. hi, i'm hoping someone can help me with this. i bought a NIB innovation x-drive which is a ps1 memory card reader / writer / copier that also works with pocketstation, i've set it all up on an old laptop (it uses the parallel port) running windows xp (sp3), copied the supplied (dos) software onto my hard drive, turned off EPP in the bios plugged it all in correctly using a pal megadrive 1 psu (which i know works) but when i run the software i just get presented with 2 empty blue boxes in the dos window and none of the keypresses required to use it work. does anyone have any idea how i could get this working? (i want to be able to back up my saves from ps memory cards and to upload "doom" homebrew game onto my pocketstation). i have tried win 98 compatibility mode.
  7. sad to report, that's what i did, loaded into the browser from my pc, fed it a bunch of carts and that part worked but the was no way to get the converted file to save out. i bought an old laptop the other day (need a true parallel port so new ones are no good), if i can ever convince it not to bsod every time i try to install the wireless drivers i'll try using a different browser on there and try again.
  8. thank you so much for these, i was having a real problem finding working .car files, my ultimate cart is sitting unused as i've been busy on real world matters but the html converter wont save for me and the java one was way over my head.
  9. just tried this in my browser (srware iron) and after i drag and drop the .rom images it presents me with a very short list of roms (doesn't even get to the end of "A") but clicking on the correct option does absolutely nothing for example 3-D Tic-Tac-Toe (1979)(Atari)(US).rom gives 2 options, Standard 8k cartridge (1) and OSS 8 KB cartridge (44) pointing at either changes the pointer to show it's a link but clicking on it does absolutely nothing, right clicking saves an .html file which i believe is just the original page.
  10. Thank you so much for posting this, i was undecided if i should go for one of these or not but since my 99/4a is a stock ntsc model (just machine, speech unit, joysticks and twin tape leads), i now know there is no way i could use it, a great pity but such is life, i don't suppose you know of any multi carts that do work on a standard system as i'd love a way to run the games pack 1?
  11. any news yet? how is it coming along? (happy to wait but any kind of update would be nice)
  12. i got one of your original flashboy carts many years ago, no way would i ever sell it, at some point in the future if you ever get your website working again (or a new url) i'd love to get one of your vec multi sd based cards.
  13. i hate to point this out but the ed64 v2 (and 2.5) both happily run nes roms (on a us n64, for some reason they play in b&w on a pal system) and don't forget if you use the alternate firmware you can also run gb, msx and game gear (but for the sake of your ears mute your sound for gg games).
  14. i tried that too but like yourself got no answer so i assume he's stopped selling them now
  15. i always used an official original sega megadrive psu on mine and that worked just fine assuming the genesis psu is the same spec it should power yours just fine (also used the same psu on the visoly/bung flashers for the gb, gba and ngpc).
  16. that's never been a problem for me, i love these flashcards so i can access all the games and if i find something i enjoy i try to buy the cart (which would save if it had one). i'm still cursing my harmony and coleco ultimate sd for what they have cost me in buying new (to me) games and hopefully it wont be long before i get the chance to start cursing yours for the same reason
  17. just to update, i think i may have found another owner, he's going to look to see if he still has the software and get back to me.
  18. ok, further to my list at the top of this page, i can't edit it so i'll put recent additions here amstrad 464 vsmile plus vsmile motion quickshot / watara supervision (bendy model) atari portfolio (replacement for the one in my original list which is toast) sinclair +2 (gray model) arcadia 2 and the two i'd forgotton earlier onlive microconsole bondwell pc1 "laptop" and another i'd forgotton but found yesterday whilst looking for something else sony psone (with screen and battery pack)
  19. hi, i just dug out my old wondermagic backup unit (which is apparently quite rare looking on google) but i cant find the floppy disc containing the pc software to flash it, i know it was just a plain yellow 3.5 floppy with no label but i cant find it so does anyone know where i can download a copy on the net or better yet does anyone still have the software themselves to upload somewhere for me? Thanks.
  20. just to add, having opened the cart i finally got around to testing it in the vic, it still worked perfectly so i was able to simply reseat it in the cart case and clip it all back together without any fuss.
  21. nothing, i haven't plugged it in since last year, it sits there on top of my xbone, under their dust covers making a great stand for my snes (which gets used almost daly, because i like COMPLETE games)
  22. since i have no childhood memories of console or arcade games that doesn't colour my view, i also think there is a line between classic and retro, for retro i'd simply go with anything from gen6 or before but classics is far more limited, to me a classic system is one that has plenty of classic games so 2600, nes, snes, genesis, ps1, n64 and dreamcast, when it comes to arcade i make a simple delineation when they were 10 or 20p a game and when they went up to 50p (or more) a game as arcade companies spent a fortune on expensive hardware and cabinets in an attempt to outpace home systems.
  23. i picked asteroids, purely from a financial standpoint i was happy to pay for pole position 2 but whilst asteroids is a great game it would have been well down my "must buy" list since i already own the cart on my 2600 and 800 so to me getting it as a pack in was a nice bonus.
