  1. Hi everyone. I have had an issue with some composite mods on 2600 and 7800s where the picture become grey and sometimes fuzzy when the audio cables are plugged into the jacks. This doesn't happen with all cables. I cleaned the ends of one set of cables and the issue went away. Does anyone know what could be causing this interference? It is really annoying, and it only happens with somesome cables. Thanks! Mike
  2. Great. I will definitely switch the washer around and bend the tab down. As much as I'd like to avoid glue, I think the super glue might be needed if they keep coming loose though. Thanks!
  3. Actually the ones that have the washers have been the problem jacks for me. The washer was between the nut and the piece you fees the grounding wire through. I will swap those around and hopefully that will do the job. Thanks!
  4. Hi everyone. I have installed a couple composite mods on some 2600s and some of the jacks start twisting after I plug in and unplug the cables a few times. The jacks are tightened as much as I can manage to get them (and I don't think they will tighten more as the whole jack twists, not individual pieces as they do when loose). Does anyone know of a good way other than dumping glue on the jack to stop this from happening, or is glue my only choice? If so, is there a certain type that works best? Thanks!
  5. I am really just looking for the Supercharger. I'm not able to throw down the kind of money it takes to buy everything at once right now. Thanks for letting me know though!
  6. Hi everyone. I'm looking for a working Atari 2600 Arcadia Supercharger. If anyone has one they don't need anymore or a spare let me know. Thanks!
  7. Hi everyone. I am looking for 2 top shells for the Atari 7800. I have two working boards and two bottom shells, but cracked and unusable tops. If anyone has one (or two) please let me know. Thanks! Mike
  8. Thanks Yurkie! The AV composite mod is great. Nice and simple to install with the right tools and some soldering experience. Love it!
  9. @ SiLicOne t0aD85 I figured that was what you meant, but wanted to be sure (total noob here). I will check it out. @ omf I will see what I can do with that. I have two that have the same symptoms, so maybe there are two working between the pair thanks!
  10. What is the VDP? What am I looking for, and what readings should I expect? Thanks!
  11. I replaced the switch because it was faulty. It powers on immediately (I used to have to press hard as hell to get it to go). I just swapped out the MJE201 from my working 7800, but it still has the same issue... and yes, having a Fry's 15 minutes away is awesome for this sort of thing. I think I will still get a new one just to be sure they both don't have problems. I will also check those solder points, but it had the same issue before. Thanks!
  12. Okay. I don't have a spare 5200 or 7800. I guess I will have to try Fry's and see if I can find the comparable transistor. Thanks!
  13. Flash to a black screen. Same with 7800 and 2600 carts.
  14. Hi everyone. I have a 7800 that I did an AV mod to and when I turn the power on it never loads the game the first time. Sometimes the second try does the job, but it is usually the third attempt before it boots up the game. After that everything will load up perfectly. No problems with glitching during gameplay. I replaced the power switch and the voltage regulator attached to the heat sink. I cleaned the cartridge slot and games. Does anyone have any ideas what my next step should be? Thanks for your time!
  15. I have a working ColecoVision and three or four power supplies that all seem to be working well (ie I have used them with the working console). I tried multiple power supplies with those that have this issue.
  16. Hi everyone, I have two ColecoVisions that have the same problem. When I turn on the power the screen is all black and there is (usually) a loud buzzing noise, I replaced the switch first, and then the video ram, but both times ended up with the same results. Is there anyone that has had this problem and been able to fix it? Thanks for your time! Mike
  17. Cool. I figured the date was pretty far down the line. Thanks for the insight!
  18. Hi everyone. I have a somewhat early 2600 that has a manufactured date of August 1979. It has all the extra metal shielding on the inside, the "tan" board, has the openings for the speakers that were never installed, and has a channel switch on the bottom. It does not have rounded edges on the front by the woodgrain. The label on the bottom is gone. What is this thing? Thanks to anyone that can help (and those that cannot too)!
  19. I understand that, but I would still need to drill into the casing to add the video jacks, right?
