  1. I found that the best way to collect consoles and games is through yard sales, garage sales, and thrift stores. I might see a game or two that I really want bundled with a console system, or with other games that I either already own or don't want. I will buy the whole bundle and sell off the console system or extra games to pay for the game(s) or the console system that I was after. Most of the time I even pocket money to continue collecting. My whole collection has cost me a grand total of $0. I just started collecting in April and I have put together the following systems: PSP 3001 PS2 Slim (2 of them) PS2 Fat XBOX XBOX w/ emulator Original Game Boy Game Boy Color (4 of them) Nintendo GBA SP SNES Atari 2600 sixer Atari 2600 Vader Nintendo DSi (2 of them) Nintendo DS (2 of them) Sega Genesis Sega Dreamcast N64 Gamecube w/ player Gamecube without player I'm working on getting an NES system next.
  2. Yup..I thought it was unnessary to start a new post for a topic already discussed and felt the need to share my experience with the board.
  3. I just found this out today on my SNES. I just got the Game Genie and it erased my saved data for Super Mario World. I was hoping to start from my last level but now I have to start all over again. Bummer.
  4. I imagine this guy must have got it working and is busy pounding away on the joystick since we have not heard back from him.
  5. Right now the only game I have been attacking hard lately is Video Pinball. I am determined to flip that score and have been so close.
  6. I'm not discourage at all and I buy all types of stuff at garage/yard sales. However, things have changed in my area in the last ten years when it comes to finding deals. Maybe I should move to your area.
  7. I'm starting to find it hard to even find deals at garage/yard sales. I have asked sellers the price of an item and the first thing they do is pull out their phones to check eBay or Amazon before quoting me an absurd price. Don't these sellers understand that when folks go garage/yard sale hunting, they are looking for a deal and not an Amazon or eBay price. If I wanted an eBay/Amazon price I would just buy it from those sights without ever leaving my house.
  8. Thrifts shops are getting bad about overpricing video games and systems too. I used to be able to go to my local thrift shops and pick up a complete gaming systems bundled with games for under $20. Those days are long gone and it has a lot to do with resellers coming into the shops with their phones and checking eBay for pricing. These thrift stores have caught on and now are charging eBay prices. There is really no reason for me to even shop in their establishments anymore when I can just purchase it online for the same price with buyer protection.
