  1. I'm not convinced that's the issue. I can move the pointer via the mouse by quickly breaking the light gate with (e.g.) a small piece of paper. I've also continuity tested the connections with a multi-meter.
  2. Hey, First post! Hi! Picked up an untested 520 STfm today. I have been testing it to see if it all works (it's had a hard life). I *think* the system is all working, but I am having issues with the mouse. Hoping someone can confirm: * Mouse is a technoplus amiga/st mouse (there is a switch to choose). * When plugged in and set to ST mode, pointer only moves left. * If you plug in a joystick into the mouse port, and rapidly tap a direction, pointer can be moved in any direction (suggests port on ST is ok). * Keyboard shortcuts for mouse work fine. * Continuity tested all wires from mouse to ST port, seems fine. * Spinning wheels inside mouse manually, same result, only moves pointer left. * Removing wheels and repeatedly breaking the light in the wheel recesses allows me to move pointer in any direction. So I think the ST is fine, but there is something wrong with the "light wheel" mechanisms in the mouse. I tried IPA alcohol on the gate sensors, no joy. I think perhaps the logic in the controller chip has corrupted. There are no caps for there to fail. Any thoughts? Cheers. EDIT. The gates themselves have a red side and a blue side. Presumably one side is supposed to emit light, whilst the other detects light? If this is the case, neither side of the gates is lit, so perhaps that is the issue. Speculation though....
