I have a real and original Star Wars arcade cabinet AND the 1UP Arcade unit as well.  1UP arcade did a GREAT job in recreating the vector x/y monitor.  All able to be done in software with effects.  It's not bad and the new stuff is way better (and most important... way more reliable!) technology.

Imagine a new Vectrex with color graphics AND Star Wars:The Arcade Game as a pack in!

My 80's teenage self would faint!

I went to the opening of the Tron ride in Shanghai, China!  I was working on and producing BT's album and tour at the time (Electronic Opus) and he did the music for everything!  AND... we also happened to be in China for that month touring Video Games Live!  We even had special access to the Tron ride and I bought bagfuls of Shanghai Disney Tron merch!!

Man I really wanna ride that!

Here's an article my brother in-law wrote about it back in the day. Looks like he took the time and updated it last year.

He took me on a day event to Six Flags New England a few years ago to try the Superman ride. His pass access made it so fun!

I just found out he had his 15mins of fame on the Gilmore Girls show.My family is slow with the news apparently.

    @Tommy Tallarico

Thanks for finding those Riverside Videos...  Great Stuff.

Seeing photos of the stock cars...  Flashed my AFX slot car memories!  LOL

I had to share this! Slotless racing dudes!!! I'm guessing late 70's. That's my little bro Tommy with the wicked Kiss shirt on.

I too loved the races at Riverside and Stafford Springs CT. I returned to a race in Stafford Raceway for the first time in almost 40 years last spring!

    It... was....awesome!

BTW Tommy that racing game on the Amico looks wicked fun!

Wow,  the North-way... Don't know how I missed this?  I have driven that route hundreds of times on my way to Lake Placid...And Back!  LOL

If you are in the Albany area?  I saw Springsteen with the Seeger Sessions Band at SPAC- Saratoga Springs and a few other shows at the Pepsi Center? I think it's called in Albany.

It is only about 2 hours away.  So it is as easy to see a show in that area as Boston etc.

When we can "gather" again, we need an East Coast retro gaming expo!  I wanted to go to the Philly Classic, but never made it :(

    -I don't mean a Nintendo Gathering...  I mean CLASSIC Gaming!  ;)

I'm thinking the Worcester area would be perfect! Anywhere in New England is fine by me. If this happens, someone please let us know.

DUDE!!!  Friendly's was my absolute FAVORITE!!!!!!!

I grew up in Springfield, MA which is right next to Wilbraham, MA where the plant and home office was for Friendly's.  And we lived on the border of Springfield so it was only a few miles from my house.

We took tours in grade school of the plant and would always go there after every baseball game with the whole family and team.  So many GREAT memories there.

When I went back to Springfield for the first time in about 15 years (a few years ago) I was so sad to find out that our local Friendly's (the one I went to the most) had JUST closed a few months before.  I literally sat in my rental car in the parking lot and cried.  Crazy emotional moment.  It was like a part of my childhood was no longer there and it upset me.  One of the BIGGEST reasons behind bringing Intellivision back as well!  Not gonna let this one die.

And if folks feel I get too defensive or show too much emotion and that I don't "act" like a typical CEO.  Now you know why.  This is PERSONAL for me.  I'm not some well paid 7 figure earning suit or CEO talking head concerned with stock holders and the "bottom line" or our "quarterly returns".  This is much deeper and a lot more personal.

Loved Friendly's. My hangout was the one on corner of Berkshire Ave and Bay St, was my now It's a Chinese restaurant. Chocolate almond chip in a cone! Yummy!! I was bummed out when I saw Russell's restaurant on Boston Rd was gone. One of the best breakfast places in Pine Point area. And of course Tony's Pizza it's still there. Tommy as we get older we appreciate the simple things in life. Be it a classic ice cream sundae or a classic video game. Keep up the good work. And remember, stay frosty!

    Rick

ohh and I felt the same way you did about friendlys when i saw The Home Depot replaced the Dusk to Dawn drive in! So many great nights there, and first dates! LOL

TJ Did u used to go online in the 80s when there were BBS's and DDial chats? those were cool times...when i tell somebody that i was online years before the internet started they look at me like i'm George Washington or something lol

Forgive my posts, as I'm about 70 pages behind.

Same here. Most people don't understand the BBS thing that happened before the internet made it big. I think I spent about $180 for a 1200 baud Hayes modem back in 1987ish. One of the most exciting peripherals I purchased for my Atari ST computer back in the day. So many hours spent on the Pocket Protector BBS. ;-)

    Back to the topic:

    Question for Mr.T

1: Have you ever watched the TV show Reboot from the early 90's?

2: Any personal appearances to promote the Amico in Western Mass in the future?

3: Did you ever own an Atari or Commodore computer?

Ok so almost every classic console has a version of Klax and I think a mega 8 player Klax would be epic. And really could have alot of different new ideas implemented.  Kind of like how the new breakout was changed. By the way Tommy the breakout you guys developed is the main reason I wanted the Amico.  Breakout is one of my all time favorite games. Still play a version on my microvision.

Give a listen to this Tommy!

Give a listen to this Tommy!

I occasionally boot up my Klax cart on my Lynx just to listen to it's excellent title screen music. I'm still blown away by it! Amazing for a handheld released in 89.

And then you were probably called a Tommy fanboy.

Some of the YouTube comments from "other" AA forum members are pretty telling.  Read the nonsense that the likes of folks like djconvoy spout about how you're all just blind fans of mine who don't have a mind of their own and only want to try and get close to a pseudo 3rd rate celebrity in hopes that I pay attention to you.

The reality is I don't know any of you before this thread started... and I've never met 95+% of you in person.  They use the same sad excuses over and over again.

    1.  Anyone who likes the system is nothing more than a Tommy fanboy looking for attention.

    2.  Everyone really hates it and we must block all the overwhelming negative comments on our YouTube channel.

If that was the case... how come we have over 51,000 views in 3 days on the new trailer and just over 100 Dislikes on the video?  Simple question that they have no answer to when confronted.  As I've stated many times... yeah... we take down filthy language and clear on purpose hatred.  But it's literally the same 7 or 8 people over and over and over again.  Every time.  Same handful of folks.  It's pathetic.  btw... you want to know who the folks are who get nuked from the comments?  CLEARLY THE ONES WHO ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT IT!!   :)  And it's the same handful of folks every time.  btw... almost ALL of which have been banned from this thread in the past.  They of course go on to say that I have all the mods in my back pocket to do my bidding.  No matter what proof is given or the reality is... they don't care.  Same lies over and over and over again.  Nice lives eh?

5%er here! I'm a Tommy fanboy! It must be true! Just look at my gamer picture! LOL

    Question for Atari fans.

What are your thoughts on all these Atari games/franchises being on Intellivision Amico?

Has Atari VCS (debacle) converted you into an Amico fan at all?

    Question for Tommy.

How did Intellivision get the Atari licenses again?

    Thanks

Atari releasing new hardware is pointless at this time. They should just licence their IP's out to competent game creators on just about any device. I have two friends that are die hard Nintendo fans and even they'd like to see Nintendo go the software only route. Totally surprised me.  They hate the way Nintendo is handling online support for games and friends. One said " Imagine a new Zelda game on the new Xbox" his words not mine. And I'm thinking Imagine a new Zelda or Star Raiders on the Amico!!

Its a lot like Star Wars Arcade, except you have a Galactic Map you can turn on and find where enemies bases are in the galaxy and hyperspace there. You can also control your speed and you have to dock with space stations to refuel and get repairs. Wilmunder's Star Raiders 2, which was finished around 1984, but not released due to the crash adds multiple ships on screen at the same time and the ability to visit planets and skim over the surface looking for star bases to destroy. In one video, not included here, the reviewer states it was a game that people bought Atari computers just to play this game over buying an Apple computer and gives it an A+. The computer version used the keyboard for speed, switching fore/aft views, going to the map and hyperspace. The 5200 version used the 5200 controller keypad and overlay.

    Star Raiders - Overlay

This is a game that deserves a revision/reboot on a new console. That dud on the Playstation and Xbox doesn't count. After playing so much Star Wars:The Arcade game back in the day I had a thirst to experience that same thrill at home. An Atari 800XL and Star Raiders got the job done for me. Tommy I'd love to see a modern take on the Amico!!! Please consider this.

  12. This is really reaching, as no one reads this forum, but I figured I'd try my luck.

Back in the early 90s I owned an Amiga 600 that I foolishly sold or traded for a Atari Jaguar

with a handful of games. This transaction took place in Westfield Ma in maybe 1993.

It would be awesome if I could get my old A600 back. But I'm not gonna hold my breath.
