  1. Windows 7 is still the second most popular PC operating system by far, about double all mac osx systems combined. Since many of those win7 computers aren't win10 compatible, switching to linux is not a bad idea. Is there any urgency to do so. Microsoft may have dropped support but the browsers still support it. Antivirus and malware software will continue to support it for a while like they do xp.
  2. You want to connect the new vcs to an old crt?
  3. In windows, the joystick is seen as a pov hat and the spinner as an analog axis. They both work in stella with proper mapping configured.
  4. Plex arcade is based on some streaming software called Parsec, which you can get independently. I'm not sure but I think Parsec (not plex arcade) might enable internet multiplayer play. That would be interesting to do with these old games.
  5. Atari Vault on Steam edit: The strange thing about the plex arcade system, if I understand it correctly, is that you need two computers for it to work. A PC to do be the streaming server and another device to play on. So you aren't even streaming from their servers.
  6. That board is old; from 1980 and probably made in usa. Intv didn't start making intellivisions until 1985 and who knows when these localised for the middle east were produced. What's the interface between the pal daughterboard and the main board. With all the glue on the stic chip it looks like an ntsc board converted to pal.
  7. That's a mechanical problem with the intellivision controller flex circuit. Each keypad button grounds two pins. Those pins are shared with the disc and side buttons. If pressing a keypad button grounds only one pin you inadvertently get a disc direction. But it shouldn't trigger a side button action.
  8. The ps4 trackpad looks uncomfortable as a gaming mouse. I haven't seen any notebook computer that has more than one or two screws to access ram. The VCS not only has all those screws, there are a number of other things to disconnect that can break if you're not careful. Skills are more in line with notebook computer repair than PC maintenance. With no bottom access panel, ram should have been on top.
  9. Anyone try a Steam controller. It has a mouse/trackpad on a game controller. ---------------------- They obviously knew it needed an access panel for the ram. It was omitted to save cost.
  10. I don't see anyone spending thousands of dollars to simply leak the rom; it could happen.
  11. I didn't suggest what anyone should do; they made it clear what their intentions were and how much they were willing to spend to do it. Intellivision Productions, as I said before, was a company that owned videogame intellectual properties and their business was licensing them out; so they couldn't very well ignore the IP rights of others. Mattel is a six billion dollar company with lots of products, their concern is the quality/reputation of their brands. Peyo is a family who's trying to squeeze every dollar out of their one IP.
  12. Collectorvision and Intellivision Productions (now Blue Sky Rangers Inc) were in very different situations. Peyo and Mattel are very different as well.
  13. There's an intellivision rom collection on arvhive.org with over a thousand files in it.
  14. Twenty-seven revisions of hotel bunny? It most definitely has the Rocketeer and Mars Minis previews.
  15. Speculation but maybe something like this. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Qualcomm-Adreno-506.175993.0.html
  16. The area above and below the 192 lines are not blank; they're part of the coloured border. The program can colour the border any of the sixteen intellivision colours. Does the intellivision not draw 240 lines including the border.
  17. Try asking here. https://atariage.com/forums/forum/10-site-and-forum-feedback/
  18. I expect it's a faithful conversion of the intellivision game play
  19. Intellivision: Space Battle, Auto Racing, AD&D, Sub Hunt, Dreadnaught Factor Atari 2600: Boxing, Warlords, Kaboom, Phoenix, Battlezone Colecovision: Alcazar, Fortune Builder, Boulderdash, Jumpman Jr, Choplifter **Note that I left out two player only games because I can't play them anytime I want. Thexder on Colecovision is an MSX port and requires the OpcodeSGM sound chip.
  20. It shouldn't be hard to make an Intellivision cartridge playing peripheral. All you need is a usb cartridge dumper, which we have; a cross platform emulator, which we have. Just need some software to connect the two.
  21. Developed at Mattel Electronics France / Nice Ideas. Here's some screenshots and a desciption. http://www.gamotek.fr/nice-ideas-storyboards-3/ If Intellivision Entertainment shares the controller API, anyone should be able to write a driver for it.
  22. You can definitely have three orange guards come out together.
  23. The founders edition will come with a "$50 RFID golden ticket gift card".
  24. The game needs the internet for installation. If it's deleted for whatever reason, it will have to be reinstalled from the internet or from a backup; however they decide to implement it. The question of authentication needs clearing up, because if you take some game licenses to a friend's amico; they are supposed to be disabled on one amico when played on another.
