I don't re-download rom sets. Occasionally, I'll download the one game/system rom that doesn't work but that's rare. Latest mame is about an 80MB download, it's not large.

Any Retropie gurus that can give me a hand with some issues?
mr_me replied to IMBerzerk's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
The world series rom file and cfg file on the rocks cd are incomplete. Use the following memory configuration with a full rom file. [mapping] $0000 - $1FFF = $5000 $2000 - $2FFF = $D000 [ecsbank] 0: $3000 - $3FFF = $E000 0: $4000 - $4FFF = $F000 1: $5000 - $5FFF = $F000 -------------------- Does emulationstation remember your two usb controllers? Do dosbox and daphne see the upci controllers by default? -
The third copy should technically belong to your company as well. It should have been part of the assets you purchased in the 1990s even if it wasn't physically there.

ColecoVision vs. Intellivision
mr_me replied to Ziggy_Stardust's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Pete Rose was 1988; that's ten years after intellivision baseball and five years after intellivision world series. Everyone was making better sports games after it was shown how they should be done on intellivision. Even Accolade's hardball was two years after intellivision world series. Intellivision had about a dozen sports games, all of them were really good, most of them groundbreaking. Still, through the 1990's I couldn't stand playing sports games with eight way controllers -
Keyboard Component Super Football prototype / demo gameplay
mr_me replied to decle's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
This is great; thanks goes to all involved. Forty years after first seeing that image in a brochure I finally get to see some gameplay. I notice there are nine moving objects. I'm guessing the football is animated with KC character graphics. One of the APh programmers mentioned in an expo panel that he had implemented an instant replay feature for a football game. So the game could have been further along than what was in this prototype tape. -
anybody knows a good atari lynx android emulator thats not retroarch?
mr_me replied to joelson11gg's topic in Emulation
I'm using a phone; it has a full qwerty keyboard so there's plenty of room for a keypad. I'd put the action buttons on top taking about one third of the space and the keypad below Intellivision World Championship Baseball uses the right controller. Intellivision Auto Racing requires both controllers to start a one player game. All the systems argon is emulating had controllers that could be used left or right handed except the atari 2600 joystick was right handed and vectrex was left handed. I'm right handed. -
I would expect each switch game being discussed to have a seperate topic; but I wouldn't expect every switch game to be discussed. The problem here is not that each game has a topic/thread, it's that topics are being created but there isn't much discussion, yet. In some cases, the person creating the topic didn't have much to say to start the discussion.

Slap Shot 53-9=44 amateur Intellivision hardware Found a weakness with the blue amateur goalie; aiming for low blocker. -
Does it work correctly for thirty seconds? What happens after reset; does it work for another thirty seconds or does it have to cool down first? I'd check the voltages coming out of the power supply board first. https://console5.com/wiki/Intellivision

The kevtris file format is a self contained file like the intellicart and cc3 rom files but different. The int2intv utility converts plain binary rom files to kevtris but it doesn't read cfg memory map files. It would have to be modified to convert more files. The .rom file extension is typically used for intellicart and cc3 formats; .int is typically a plain binary.

mr_me replied to joelson11gg's topic in Emulation
The argon intellivision bug has been fixed so it runs rom files from commercial cartridges now. It still has trouble with some homebrews. The argon touch screen controls is set to the left controller. Some games only use the right controller and some use both controllers. There should be a button to switch between them. Some intellivision games primarily use the keypad. The touchscreen keypad should be to the side with the action buttons. The top side button should be considered the primary action button. And for all emulators there should be an option to mirror the controls so the touchscreen dpad is on the right, buttons on the left. -
HSC - Holiday Triple Pack w/ Bonus Game
mr_me replied to Rickster8's topic in Intellivision High Score Club
If you want to prove yourself at intellivision the place to do it is now the atariage HSC, thanks to you guys. And I know there are some top players here that aren't even playing. Space Hawk is a marathon game; and pausing is not allowed with world records. Unfortunately, I can only play short games. Maybe one day I'll go for the space hawk and deadly discs records. Wasn't sure about thin ice and ice trek but it turns out the play time is short and works for me. -
The Atari OS is based on Debian; doesn't that mean it has to be open source. The atari dashboard doesn't have to be open source.

HSC - Holiday Triple Pack w/ Bonus Game

In a lot of cases the twin galaxies record is the world record but not so in ice trek or thin ice. Unless there is some way to exploit faults in those games we're not aware of. -
HSC - Holiday Triple Pack w/ Bonus Game
mr_me replied to Rickster8's topic in Intellivision High Score Club
There are obviously records on twin galaxies that are not world records. Just as olympic records are not necessarily world records. I think the control problem with skiing is more the programming than the physical controller. You have to be both good and lucky to get that downhill time. Lucky in that you get a run without a control glitch. The slalom course is longer so a glitch is inevitable. I have that record by a fair margin. -
HSC - Holiday Triple Pack w/ Bonus Game
mr_me replied to Rickster8's topic in Intellivision High Score Club
My scores are all documented here, they're official as far as I'm concerned. The ice trek world record is over 34k, I'm not even half of that. I tied the skiing downhill world record, not sure if that can be beaten. Skiing records at lower slopes are really meaningless. You guys probably didn't have the skiing cartridge as kids otherwise you'd be challenging for records too. -

Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A
mr_me replied to Tommy Tallarico's topic in Intellivision Amico
They want Amico games to be played on the TV not the controller display. You could have a mini-game on the controller but the main game should be on the TV. If you want to play among us with family/friends in the same room you can all use phones/tablets. They could make a variation or their own game that's similar but played locally on a single screen. I could see a third person perspective (or first person) driving game on Amico but it would be a rally type game called Night Driver. It's primarily a one player game but would have a co-op mode with a co-driver. The co-driver would have a map on their controller and other key pieces of information that they communicate to the driver. -
Unallocated space might explain why format only sees 116GiB (125GB). Use windows disk management to check for unallocated space. Unallocated space shouldn't bother etcher however. To windows 128GB should be about 119 GiB.

Atari Unveils Vault Of 100 Games Optimized For The Atari VCS
mr_me replied to 0078265317's topic in Atari VCS
The arcade versions should have mouse/trackball support like vault for the pc. It would be disappointing if it didn't. The comments are about optimising for the vcs controllers. -
Atari Unveils Vault Of 100 Games Optimized For The Atari VCS
mr_me replied to 0078265317's topic in Atari VCS
Atari 2600 missile command, centipede, and millipede are designed for 8-way joysticks as is. With the arcade versions someone has to decide what speed the player moves, or even add acceleration, when using a digital joystick. Same thing applies to arcade machines that used analog joysticks like red baron.
