Are we seeing a resurgence in Atari 2600 collecting?
spawnshop replied to teh_lurv's topic in Atari 2600
This looks like fun! Where in NYC is this? I'm headed in to the city next week. -
I used to have a 4-switch woody back in the day, and of course, for nostalgia, I really prefer that. But part of me would prefer the 6-switch over it because of the certain games that actually use the difficulty switches for gameplay. I find that when playing Ghostbusters, trying to get to Stay Puft, reaching to find the small difficulty switch on the back is a pain in the butt.

Interest Check: Reproduction Activision Cart Labels
spawnshop replied to pboland's topic in Atari 2600
The easiest and less-messy way i have found is using a simple heat gun....you can get them at lowes/home depot near the paint. Don't need to use it too high, and just about 20 seconds or so over the label, and lift. It softens the adhesive enough to lift it right off, and doesn't damage the cart or plastic (if not too hot). It will leave a residue, but that only helps the new label stick anyway. I do it all the time to repair labels or transfer labels with broken ICs. Works like a charm. -
Tips for someone considering collecting for the Atari 2600?
spawnshop replied to hiitsbrian's topic in Atari 2600
Nice pick! I got a retrobit adapter and RFtoCoax if you still need them. The retrobit is the best aftermarket that i've found - little to no RF interference. Don't get the crappy low-end ones - they will cause interference and static. -
I want both the glove and headband! Decathlon was one of my favorite games growing up.....i remember endless blisters on my palms from playing this game non-stop. So much fun!
