I have the following items that I'm looking to trade or sell. I have been listing off/on on ebay, but I avoid paying the listing fees, so they are not always active. I will sell to members here for discounted price too compared to ebay. I will accept reasonable offers as well - the prices listed are only suggestions. Looking to trade for Atari CIB games, TG16 games with manuals, or NES loose carts - please make offers or show me your "haves" lists. Prices do not include shipping. How come a lot getting into retro games skip Atari?
spawnshop replied to totallyterrificpants's topic in Atari 2600
As a child born in the late '70s, I grew up with both. My first system was 2600, then NES, Sega, etc. I love NES and it's games, and wasted TONS of hours playing, but I did the same with 2600. 2600 was my first real connection to home gaming and will always have a special place in my heart. But I also think that NES came at a time when gaming was "more popular". It seemed that EVERYONE on my block had a NES but not Atari for some reason. And remember when you could rent games at your local video store?? I don't remember ever being able to rent Atari games. So unless you or your friend had the game, you were never exposed to variety of titles like you could on NES. I remember renting a different game every week. It seemed the library was endless. And yes, with all of the hype, NES titles are a lot more costly over 2600. For collecting, I do CIB for 2600, but loose carts for NES due to prices. I just make my own custom cases for those. -
I'm interested in some of your NES carts. Any interested in Bee 52 for NES - it's the only one i have to trade. I got some 2600 carts as well if interested.

Hmmm....nothing yet, and I was #36. I will PM - really excited to get this one.

Well, I got one repaired - was the wire. The other, not sure what the issue is. The capacitor is OK, and the 2 small resistors coming off of the positive are OK. I guess it's the main transformer.
-
Oh, OK. So it is glued together? Are there any clips holding it together or just the basic lip around the shell? ***EDIT*** OK, got it! I ended up putting a flathead screwdriver in where the cord goes in. It seems that the glue/weld is so old, that this thing split apart fairly easily. I think i can repair it and epoxy it back together. Thanks!

My advice, since it's a mod and you probably want to keep it, pick up a working system for cheap, and try to swap the chips - either RIOT or TIA. I would stay away from vader or Jr since the chips could be soldered in. Go for a 6 or 4 switch woody verified working. You can get them fairly cheap. Although, if you want me to look at it, i am only in NJ

Does anyone know if the power adapters are easily opened? I have 2 gray 2600 original power adapters....one DOA, and one glitchy. I can probably repair them, but can't figure out how to open the casing without destroying it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

I have a Sears Heavy currently on ebay but no bids yet. Maybe we can work out a deal....PM if interested.
