  1. I'm interested in the following: Joust-3 Mario Bros.-10 SwordQuest EarthWorld-2 Othello-3 Star Wars Return of the Jedi-6 Mash (writing and rip on label)-2 Journey Escape-2 Smurf-2 Can you offer a discount for the group? PM me, thanks.
  2. Any pics? Maybe of the the parts that were knocked loose?
  3. I've been repairing 2600's for a few months now, and the main issues I've seen with them are: Bad Capacitor (2200uf) Bad TIA chip Bad IC Bad volt regulator chip Bad power adapter or jack - usually the jack just needs the solder reflowed Since you still get some graphics and not full black screen, sound like a malfunctioning TIA chip to me. But without actually fiddling with it in hand, it's hard to say. Do you have another unit to swap out chips to diagnose?
  4. Well, it turns out it was a bad IC. The one I had originally deemed as functional ended up having a broken prong and not registering. I replaced it agian, and now I have a fully functional Heavy Sixer for only $30!! I had to replace the selector switch since the spring underneath broke. I would love to reinstall the original switch if I can fix it. Anyone know where i can get a replacement spring for it?
  5. I will check these items as well. Thanks. As for the card reader, it's the white version. ** after looking at teh ribbon and the dot-sticker, they both look a bit suspicious. I will check the ribbon as soon as I get my multimeter in this week. **
  6. With the cart in, and powered on - Black Screen only.
  7. OK, so I bought a Heavy Sixer for pretty cheap, but I can't figure out what's wrong with it. It powers up but nothing but a black screen. With no game and powered on, i get the color bars and tones, so I know that there is a signal coming out and I'm on the right channel and that the power supply is working. I've cleaned the cartridge slot. And I've replaced/checked the 3 main chips, replaced the hex buffer IC, replaced the main 2200 capacitor, and the voltage regulator, and a bad selector switch.....not sure where to go from here. I've reviewed the service manual, but no luck. Any ideas on this? Thanks.
  8. I like this one a lot....it makes it really fun. It's simple, but well done.
  9. This is what it is to be a collector - and what I think is the fun part about it. I did the same exact thing, although, i think it was to buy some Spiderman comics or something. I also did the same thing with all of my 1977 Star Wars figures......sold them all for $.50 a piece in a garage sale when I was 13 - because I was "told old for these toys" and I think i used the cash to buy Nintendo games....which i later sold too.....LOL
  10. I have a question about a CX-22 Trak-ball that I recently purchased. The ball movement seems to be OK (a little jumpy in joystick mode in Centipede and Vanguard, but not sure if the games are just made like that....) but the fire buttons don't really work. But when i pull the top cover off and press the actual PCB buttons, they work, but sporadically. Why would they work when pushing them directly, but not with the button? Do you think replacing the fire button PCBs would be the way to go?? Maybe replace the springs too??
  11. i just ran into the same issue with my light sixer that i refurbed.....a generic ac adapter was the culprit.
  12. Yes, just like everyone else.....I get caught up in "Collecting" and forget to enjoy what I'm really collecting. I just buy and buy, and then store it away somewhere. I'm starting to unload some of my Steelbook Bluray collection and some of my Star Wars Mini busts. Like every collector, i go through waves. Cherry pick what to sell, make a little profit, sink it back into collecting, loose money on the common stuff, and so on. Although, I enjoy collecting. It's a fun hobby, no matter what I'm collecting. I've collected normal stuff like Star Wars figures and movies, then got bored and moved into rare in package figures, then into prototypes, then got bored. I still have a lot because the market crashed for that stuff, so now I'm stuck with it, and regret what I paid for some of it. But again, I enjoyed it at the time. Now I'm into 2600, NES and Sega Genesis games and systems. I enjoy collecting what I had as a kid, but I'm sure that will grow past that and I'll do the same thing. Luckily the hoarding aspect really bothers me, so I always downsize every few months and only keep what I really like, whether it's worth anything or now.
  13. Great trader! He was new to to the site for my trade, and was gracious enough to ship his items first. Once arrived, he informed me so I shipped mine to him. He then informed me everything was received on his end. Great communication!
  14. Never heard of that....i'll have to check it out.
  15. I like this idea.....actually working on one right now. And I disagree that you're "defacing history" such as the mona lisa.....there is only one mona lisa. There are millions of ataris. This isn't a bad idea either.....
  16. questions though.....does this negate the RF, or is that still usable? Also, how can i use S-video with this? Thanks!
  17. Hey Milkman, do you still have that Star Raiders insert available? I picked up a controller in a lot, but not insert with it..... was the original insert a paper, cardboard, etc???
  18. Thanks for the thorough advice. I will take a look at it again this weekend.
  19. Bob requested some 3D modeling assistance and paid immediately upon request. Great communication too! I hope to work with him in the figure.
