My Lynx experience dates back quite recently. It was a system I never considered getting, having a GG back in the day, the Lynx was a perfect unknown for me. Then, in Jan. 2007, I was lucky to find a guy selling his Lynx, boxed, with 4 games (Stun Runner, Todd's Adventures in Slime World, Pac-Land and Chip's Challenge). Being a cheap deal, I got it.
When it arrived at the mail, I got something I didn't expect at all. I don't know if it's the fantastic graphical capabilities for such and old machine, its very different library of games as to what other portables had, or the strange feeling you get when you play a system no one knows/plays of, but I found MAGIC within the Lynx. I played it a lot, and found myself being amazed at the complexity of TAISW, the lenght and great design of Chip's Challenge, the impressive speed effect of Stun Runner and the great arcade conversion Pac-Land.
From time to time, I've been buyin some more games for it, getting some great games as well: Blue Lightning, Shanghai, Gates of Zendocon, Klax, Awesome Golf... Moreso, the games were cheap, even if they were shrinkwrapped!
Lack of money has kept me from expanding my collection, but it's now one of my favorite portable systems ever.

I'll continue to update the list if more votes are added, so, those who didn't vote before can do it now.
-
I have some important exams this month, but as I've said, I'll update the list. Probably by the end of the month we will have an updated list.
-
Anyone able to do an update? I'd be interested to see how the list looks now.
I'll try to update myself, but it will take some days, as I will start from the beginning.
I guess you're the same one that updates some of the Top 100 lists on Gamefaqs, right?
-
I'd like to update, but I don't have the latest updated archive. I think I asked the person who did the updates, but never answered. So, until he shows up, no updates will be made for now.
-
I've written reviews for Klax, Chip's Challenge, and Todd's Adventures in Slime World.

Everytime I think about a Lynx mascot, I think about something along the lines of Bubsy (he's in the avatar of an user on the first page, btw)
-
Cool, I have this one. So, what are the settings. Start from the beggining and get as more points as possible?
-
Speaking of world records, maybe we should do a series of high score club challenges specifically focused on breaking the existing world record. Pick a game, look it up in the twin galaxies database, post the current world record and the rules for officially breaking it and let's get some AA peeps holding official world records.
--wookie
Speaking of that, my half-pipe record is about 4,000 points higher than the current world record.

I've been trying for an hour to replicate my last record, but I couldn't do it. My 3 best scores:

How embarrasing... That would show how much I know of golf
Didn't notice your avatar was Chips. Also, I love the Bogey reference in this game. If I'm not mistaken, it refers to Humprey Bogart, right?I'll try again if I can beat that score.

I have a little question: Why is that sometimes, while you're in the fairway, and you get a 90-100% hit,the ball seems to go a little less strong than it should be?
Are you using woods on the fairway? They don't work very well unless you are on the tee. Also do not work at all from the rough, which isn't very realistic.
So, I have to use Iron almost always?. What I don't understand is that sometimes Wooden seems to be fairly exact, but about 40%of the time it doesn't and you end up short of what you were trying.
Also, 26 hits is possible (making 9 eagles). Then, without aid from the wind, would be possible to get at least 1 or 2 hits less?

I can't believe it... Before reading the thread, first thing I tought was "Hey, wouldn´t it be cool if we played Awesome Golf? It would be a different HSC thread"
One of my favorite games, I'm trying this for sure.
First try

Not bad, but I made some mistakes in 2 holes that cost me some tries
Second try

Whoohooo!! Awesome run, with 4 eagles in the first 5 holes, and all of the others with a PAR.
Third try

The image speaks for itself. 8 Eagles, and only a small mistake has made me make a Par on hole 8. I don't know if I`ll try again, because this would be hardly beatable for me (9 Eagles or somewhat using a hit less on the longer holes).

Time for a new update. Todd's Adventures in Slime World regains first place. Also, things are really heating up, with the top four games separated only by a mere 5 points. Arek, you can post your #6-10 games if you desire so.

I had a complete list once... I thought it was something more like 89? I'm talking about all public Lynx game releases, not just Atari's.Remember, I'm only talking about the games that were released before the end of the Lynx's run in 1994/95. If you see any games missing off the list above, let me know!
I thought Super Asteroids/Missile Command was released in 1995. At least that's what the AA database says.Y'know, I spent all sorts of time trying to find any mention of a year on the AA list. I finally found it, by looking at the production companies. On that list, Battlezone 2000 also came out in 95.
In fact, I see that many of the dates listed on AA differ from Damon's list. Unless Damon feels his list is more accurate than AAs, I'll probably change the dates to match AA. Damon, where did you get your info?
Thanks, everyone!
Smeg
Well, my list is taken from the rom set directly (every rom had the year in its name)

Maybe this will help you:

My list is lacking Baseball Heroes and other one I haven't found yet.

This was one of the games I got originally with my Lynx (along with Stun Runner, Slime World and Chip's Challenge) and it was probably the one I played the most, even if I thought it was the worse one of the four.
I remember getting to round 25-30 or so, and getting pretty high-scores, but I've not played since at least a year ago.
First play:

Not bad. Got to round 5.
Second play:

Better. I used a shortcut to get to level 9, but I didn't think that was right, so I started again.

This time, I got through every stage until the 11th.

Well, it's not really a suggestion, but... Couldn't contests be running forever? I mean, being as slow as the Lynx forum is, most games only get about 5-6 scores at most when the timeline ends. Why closing the contests? Is like having an individual forum for each game where we can have fun submitting scores, and getting advices about the games.
-
I need some advices for this game. It's probably the one CG event I do worse at.
BTW, when is the Skateboarding HSC going to be? I'm pretty good at that one, getting +30,000 each time I play.

I couldn't edit, so I've updated this list, for every newcomer who hasn't voted yet. I'd like to upload the file I'm using for updates for anyone interested, but I can't. Anyone knows why? The formats I'm trying to upload are a .rar archive and a .xls one.

vddub_boy was updating it. I've sent him a PM, I'm waiting for an answer.

HALF-PIPE!!! HALF-PIPE!!! The only one I'm very good at.
-
Is not that hard. If you can manage to do this (and believe me, it's pretty easy on the first two levels)
G=Green
B=Brown
Y=Yellow
R=Red
X=Last piece
Note that this is an example, you can do it with the colours you want
GB RG
GB RG
YYXYY
GBYRG
GBYRG
If you can manage to put a Yellow piece where the X is, you can get 210.000 points per stage.

I've always been amazed at how deep TAISW is, but this is just amazing! How did they cram 6 huge levels, and then 6 multiplayer levels more, plus an easter egg and even an in-game manual in just 256K? Did they use some kind of compression?
