Do you have a top section of the box to do surgery with? Looks like someone tore the top of the box off to use it as a vessel for the extra manuals. Funny how they decided to use the most valuable game box in the lot to destroy. 🤣

    What a shame..😪

I have a reproduction I created using Photoshop so the process (see pics below) would be the same as the Super Pro Football restoration, where I splice in the missing sections. This time I want to line the cardboard up so that the seams are smooth. It will be a bit tricky due to the reproduction being on slightly thinner cardstock but it should be possible. Just lining up the graphics/text will be the hard part. It also appears that whatever cart retention was there originally was destroyed or gutted so that will have to be replaced. I'm thinking it may be better to source a donor retention piece from a common box but I could also recreate one. Depends on what the next owner wants. I can also convert it to a top retention, Coleco box style and add a manual pocket as I did for my reproductions in the past.

    For sure!🤣🤣🤣

A very long, slow and unstoppable descent to ruin and death!🤪🤪🤣🤣🤪

This is why I got out while I could and stopped at the 1st production run of each 125 title. Well that and space limitations 😅

Now I just cheer on the variant hunters and encourage them at every turn as they continue to post pics of all their unusual finds. Spares my bank account and my heart 🤣

  3. I finally got to hear the episode in its entirety. Great show as always! Not sure how I avoided getting covid at PRGE but I'm glad to hear everyone is ok.

Thank you cmart and Rick for the kind words about the Lock'N'Chase 8K box. I wanted to add that The Box Master, Steve Jones was pivotal in formatting the design for a gatefold template. He and Luc are absolute heroes for producing that design in gatefold form for everyone.

I could see me trying to get every original game from Mattel and Coleco, but I don't think I would go as far as to get two of the same game, one from Mattel, and one from Sears and that route.

I don't either but only because of space limitations. If homebrews didn't exist, I'd probably go the variant route as well.

I kinda draw the line at overlays.  It's a no win endeavor.  Same for most manual revisions.  I do try to keep Hong Kong and USA manuals in the right boxes, though.

Same. It's the best you can do really, outside of keeping both versions of the overlays in them. I do that with my US Word Fun.

I've even opened the same 2 games that had different catalog variations in them. So there's just no telling what the "original" configuration should be at that level most of the time.

  6. I don't think any of the games will be exclusive to the show unless they happen to sell out. Even then, there would likely be another run for folks to buy online. Here's what we know from the PRGE thread...

    2023 PRGE tentative game releases:

    1. Pitfall 3: Return to the Caverns

    2. 5-11under’s game

    3. Intelligentvision 1

    4. Intelligentvision 2

    5. Intelligentvision 3

    6. Pumpkin Trilogy

    7. Many more…

Nice!   That is in outstanding shape compared to most of these that show up.  Congrats!  Mine is much more beat up.

Was your box sealed? If not, what all was in it? I am going to crack open mine but I was curious what I should be looking for inside. I know the joystick, both games and the manuals will be in there but I am wondering what will be included. Warranty card, catalog, sticker, who knows?

  10. Here are the ones I could find...

    #12 Poker & Blackjack on a no-line HK cart:

    QC12-PBJ01.jpg

    QC12-PBJ02.jpg

#19 and 28 also on Poker and Blackjack HK carts but with insert lines:

#65 on an unbranded HK Football cart:

    QC65FB01.jpg

    QC65FB02.jpg

All 4 of my boxes for these were gatefold and had standard HK text on the bottom flap. No Radofin or sticker versions.

I checked all of my carts, both US and HK and found none that were made in the US. It seems there will not be any American produced QC sticker carts unless someone modifies one.

It also appears they are only seen on screwback carts.
