  3. this was my starting point. But Atari had more facillities used in borregas. e.g. the 1200 (left side of 1196) 1190 and 1192 too (right side of 1196) 1250 and 1256 are also Atari related. But there are much more buildings between 1190 and 1265. The numbers in borregas ave starts at 11xx and goes up to 13xx. AndreasB
  4. I am 41. I live in Hannover, Germany Atari 800XL in 1987 - 1991, then Atari PC3 until 1993. Then i have cancelled all Atari activities until year 2001. 2001: AtariPortal.net until 2004 From beginning of 2003 i am the ABBUC webmaster (the german Atari 8bit user club) In 2003, with help of other users i have reactivated the ABBUC regional-group HAR. (Now one of the largest regional groups in germany) I write news, newsletter, books. I support three german magazines with articles. I am one of the founder of the german Atari magazines scanning project. (until now > 600 mags). Last big finnished project: A german book for "dataexchange between Atari xl/xe and PC" with 220 pages. I have created the JHV-videos, Atari lost videos DVD (~180 atari commercials). Searching and supporting hardware-developer and much, much more. Andreas
  5. Hello david nason sorry, but please back to topic. (Or create a new thread) This thread discuss the (pd-)release of original build roms and rom-images. (possible there exist an official rom-listing at DeReAtari) Btw: I have contacted Curt Vendel for this thread. andreas
  6. Hi yes. but only, if the user has installed xf25 first. users they can not read english text have a problem to use the emulator. of course most users speaks english, too. Btw: the translation to german includes additional an alternative keyboard-layout. Who knows, possible the next step is french? :-) The only wish i have is: simple as possible = more fun. More languages = more users
  7. Many thanks for reply, the answeres mirrors my things about the possible unclear status of the rom-files. For a real beginner, without basic knowledge of english language it is more difficult than it seems to be. Ok, i have to tell more why: At the last weeks some users translated the Atari800WinPLus to german. (These translations/files goes later to the developers after the last tests has ended) My intention is to made the first steps to get a working emulation simple as possible for all beginners. At the moment are more steps needed for a german installation: - download/install decruncher - download/install XF25 - download/install Atari800WinPLus - move rom files to the correct folder at Atari800WinPlus until here noobs without knowledge of engl. lang. have a very big problem. (the age of ger. users are between 15 and 82) - now download, decrunch and manual copy of german version of A8WinPLus to dest. folder Lately here, if the user have no knowledge of PC-file organization, they cancel all and thats it. -> User lost... But... if the ROM files official "free" and the german translations can also be included into the emulator, only one simple step is needed - Download/Install. Finish. regards andreas
  8. Has Atari Inc released the OSA/OSB/Basic/XL Roms to pd/oss/gnu or any other? Who owns actual the rights? Someone says: with cancelling the flashback-projects, atari gave "some material" to curt vendel (for pd?) is this correct? Or have any other released the rom's to pd/..... ? Why i ask: Sience beginning the A800WinPLus Emu comes without any ROM. For newbies is it very hard to install a couple of files. Is it possible to release these ROM files that the Emu-developer can include these files? Andreas
  9. Thanks to Wrathchild for the VS6 compatible project files Now i can compile the project (0 errors, some warnings) and i am working on the translation. andreas btw: The *AFX*.h files are a part of VS 6 enterprise, but only until version 6.
  10. Many thanks for your replys. @Rybags: Not all characters can be changed. The most special chars can not be changed. But all special chars are on other keys than the us-style keyboard. e.g. -_:.;,#'()/&?=<>" @Wrathchild + Fröhn: Ok. I own VS6 enterprise (us version) and DirectX SDK 8 / 9. I can try this combination. But where do you get the needed xxxAFXxxx.H include files and libs? I think there must be another SDK installed. The AFX-files are a part of the MFC. There are no AFX-files included at the DirectX SDK 7/8/9 I have found AFX-files at the "Microsoft Platform SDK for Windows Server 2003 R2" as a part of the MFC. But this Software is not 100% compatible, Because there are some changes at the include files. Because of this, some parts of the Atari800Win project have to be rewritten. I think i have to use an older software that includes the MFC part. But which? @Wrathchild: Please, can you send me the latest working project files? Andreas
  11. does anyone know which development environment is needed to compile the last Atari800WinPlus 4.0 sourcecode without code-changes and without errors? There are no informations available. The projectfile says C++ 7.1 (C++ from VisualStudio.Net 2003) But which versions of other parts are needed and which is the supported OS? A.) Win2000 oder WinMe/98 ? B.) DirectX 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 ? Microsoft has changed many libs and include files in v9. DirectX 9.0 seems to be incompatible. C.) Microsoft Platform SDK for Windows Server 2003 R2 This SDK seems to be incompatible. (many AFXxxx.h has changed) Any suggestions? D.) Any other parts are needed? e.g. MFC SDK? I want to compile it to support the german pc keyboard. (a atari keyboard layout over a virtual us-style pc-keyboard on a real german pc-keyboard is incredible / not useable) Andreas
