Looking for: Famicom with controllers FDS w/ RAM adapter I'm located in the US. Please drop me a line if you have one you'd like to sell! Thanks

Agreed. If he released the source code I'd be down to give it a stab.

Yeah apparently everyone's an expert!

In a package deal I received this TI 99/4A computer. I figured I would play with it a bit but once I opened the box, I came across a dilemma: it looks very new!! This stuff isn't common so I don't have the heart to break the seals and use it. The computer bag is open, but since the peripherals are sealed I can't imagine it was ever used. All the paperwork looks perfect too, so I'm not even sure if the computer was taken out of the box. I'm looking for $100 shipped for it. Also interested trading for (give or take credit): GBA Everdrive SD2SNES USB GD-ROM VGA/HDMI Box for Dreamcast Legos Album: https://imgur.com/a/TFq5d Thanks for looking. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Posting here is better than nothing but with how many different things people are posting it ends up kinda sounding like "some guy on some forum said there was a weird problem"

You're all emailing Analogue about these issues right? Kevtris may be reading this thread but I'm guessing these issues are easier to track if they're actually in Analogue's email.

Not sure about msu1 but it didn't work for me when I selected games that use enhancement chips it told me they were not supported. I picked a good day to work from home! Way faster than the Super Everdrive. Had a fun lunch break. Thank you guys for sharing the Jailbreak.

Man, you guys spent a lot of time looking up stuff for someone who is happy with his current setup! Everyone has different priorities. Up until last year, I was gaming on a 23" LCD TV. Only reason I bought a 50" tv to replace it is because my fiancé got frustrated with the size and wouldn't play games with me unless I got something bigger.

It'd be neat to be able to make/load profiles via text files on the SD card. Then we could all share our favorite configurations, as well as make setting changes a little quicker.

Agreed. I had a wireless mouse that charged with mini USB with a really really thin cable... tried it with some other stuff for data transfer, with no luck. Turns out it only supported power!

I got that same email as well (that it couldn't be delivered), but I received it yesterday. I wouldn't worry about it.

Me tomorrow

It's not compatible with some Pirate carts, and being 720p limits nice scaling options. Besides that it's fine. I have one and I'm very happy with my purchase.

I had a SNES go bad on me a couple years ago. Started doing some weird stuff that I recorded: Ended up switching the board out with a SFC one, and called it a day. I wanted to play around with it a bit more but never got around to it.

Found a set!

Looking for a pair of functioning wireless Atari controllers + the receivers for them. I imagine the IR ones are probably pretty spotty, so I'd like to get RF ones. If you have some laying around, please let me know! I have some feedback on Nintendoage: http://nintendoage.com/index.cfm?FuseAction=Users.Home&User=SnoopKatt

What's the WORST price you've seen on Atari stuff?

Bought mine at a swap meet for $25, included a controller. But he wanted $10 more to throw in Pac-Man... -
Other issue is that emulation has a lot more input lag. I've tried retropie, and compared to consoles with upscalers/FPGA consoles, it's much tougher to use. It's probably good enough for most casual users, but there is a functional difference with using emulation.

Just got an Atari 2600 from a swap meet, just have a couple questions

I emailed that online shop, doesn't look like they sell the springs... I might just try some pen springs lol. -

Thanks for the replies! -
Hi, So I scored an Atari 2600 at a swap meet for $25, and just about everything is perfect on it! Only thing is that one of the switches doesn't spring back (the reset one). I opened it and took a look, and I saw that it doesn't have the spring for the switch. Where could I get a suitable replacement spring for it? Also, I'm interested in getting Tim's RGB mod for it to hook up to my OSSC. While I was opening the RF shield to see if the TIA was socketed or soldered in, I accidentally snapped off the tabs that hold them in. For the RF connection, I can see a lot more distortion on the screen if I don't hold the shield on. However, if I remove the RF module and install the mod, will I still see distortion without the shield? Thanks, Anthony

Yup, they could poll it quicker via software if they wanted to, but as you stated, there's little reason to! One reason I could think of using it for is breaking up ties in 2+ player fighting games, but that could tie up system resources. I think the AVS is barely slower than an NES on composite (less than 1 ms). His total delay through the TV may be 1.4 frames, but I think that's the TV itself being 1.4 frames behind. That's a lot better than the Framemeister because that alone adds 1.5 frames before it even reaches the TV. Also, here's a really good read on emulator input lag: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/2019/an-input-lag-investigation
-
Interesting... But that'll still depend on how the controller polls it too. It's been 60 hz on each game I've tested (Megaman 2,SMB, and some others), but the way they handle the data looks a little different. Might be possible that he has it polling faster.
-
1. Exactly. 2. Almost, on average the game responds half a frame behind. But the variation is crazy! If a display adds 9 ms, then you're getting between 9 ms and 25.7 ms. Granted that other things in the signal chain could add lag, but for this particular implementation, I'd say anyone claiming they can "feel" 9 ms or any small number like that are just under the placebo effect. Less is always better, and a CRT is always going to be king, but if a display only adds 9 ms, I'd find it hard to believe people can actually detect a difference. Same kind of thing happens in hi-fi audio as well people can claim whatever they want, but this kind of stuff is really easy to measure, and unless they can prove it, then there's no real basis for their claim (not trying to be a dick though). 3. If you have some sort of internal game timer that's measuring something in between frames, a higher polling rate would be effective. It'd be tough to justify why most games would need it, as I've never heard someone say the NES responds too slow.
