  1. Dammit, Songbird, just take my money and give me my game!
  2. I think I identified all sixteen. I really play way too many video games.
  3. Dang Cyrano, I still need Rocketeer and Downfall in my collection! If you can ship or know someplace I can get a copy (cart and CD), I'd snatch them up! Edit: found Rocketeer CD in the AA store and bought it with Rebooteroids! Look forward to any cart editions and hopefully another run of Downfall+!
  4. Five Cybermorphs for two C-notes? Last I checked, five is more than two! What a bargain!
  5. eBay can give you SOME idea of the value, but try to look what they've sold for. There are a lot of listings out there for things which can be acquired for $70-100 where they inflate the price two to five times the value and hope to catch a sucker. That said, if you're selling, I'd be interested in your copies of Impulse X and World Tour Racing.
  6. I would flip if somebody made an SNES Bomberman port for Jaguar. Not only one of my favorite games ever, but would give more people a reason to have the multi-tap!
  7. I never owned a Jaguar back in the day, and only got one about five years ago in a big lot on eBay. I collect for just about every system, but the Jaguar has been one of my favorite to acquire. The library is generally, outside of only a couple of titles (Battlesphere, Battlesphere Gold, original Air Cars), not difficult to acquire, and there are some deals out there for the rarer ones to be had. What's made it even more fun is the availability (a lot of it through Atari Age forums!) of new releases! Not only am I collecting the classic collection, but I get to toss in new, original games as well as remakes of classics, which makes for a lovely added wrinkle to getting the Jag and Jag CD. I have almost all of the original release games (CD also) CIB, but getting fresh new copies of Alice's Mom's Rescue, Elansar, Philia, Another World, and Xenon 2: Megablast makes it feel like I'm a kid again.
  8. Yeah, I was stoked just to get one and finally add it to my collection, but I've really been roped in by the greater Jaguar community and been impressed with how it still gets pretty sweet releases! Check out Shinto's game-by-game podcast if you want a nice walk down memory lane as well!
  9. I think it's a pretty reasonable price for the full package! Ordered!
  10. Ordered a pair on the off chance I get a big WMCJ tournament going.
  11. Hey Shinto, I REALLY wanted to contribute for Wolfenstein 3D, but a combination of factors (in particular, my father's death and now pending divorce) have kept me from being able to do a proper write up for the last few podcasts. I did want to share this, though: When I was a kid (early to mid 80s), we had an Apple IIc computer. My dad liked gadgets and to keep current with technologies, and when we got it the computer was relatively cutting edge, right down to the dot matrix printer. He subscribed to Softdisk and picked up games and software wherever and whenever he could, and bought a lot of stuff both bootleg and used when he had the opportunity. I don't know how we wound up with it, but Castle Wolfenstein and Beyond Castle Wolfenstein were probably the two games I played most on that system for three or four years (my mom wouldn't allow us a Nintendo, and the 2600 wasn't always hooked up). Yes, it could be repetitive, but each offered a style of action play that was rare for that system, and the randomness of the stages led to a certain amount of suspense for me as a young player (I hadn't yet picked up on possible patterns in the levels). The original was probably more challenging since it was all-out action, forcing you to shoot it out with guards and the notoriously persistent SS Stormtroopers. We didn't have the instructions, so we probably went a year not knowing how to throw grenades until my brother accidentally hit the T button (apparently for "throw") and vaporized a hapless Wehrmacht soldier. Beyond Castle Wolfenstein took away a lot of the action elements (you could get through the entire game without firing a shot), but allowed you to decide what level of violence you wanted to pursue. And let's face it, anything is worth being able to plant a time bomb next to Hitler. Toward the end of our time with the Apple IIc we got a copy of Spear of Destiny, but I remember it didn't work very well. Can't remember if it was only a demo or if our system didn't meet the operating requirements of the game. Nonetheless, I did get early exposure to the genre and was an avid fan of both Wolfenstein and Wolfenstein 3D on various platforms, but mostly played it on later PC versions (typically on a friend's computer). Good memories.
  12. I will pick up every one of the cartridges at some point and would order the boxes/instructions concurrently with each purchase. Can't have loose carts just sitting around!
  13. Got mine in the mail a few days ago. Haven't been able to play yet since real life has not really been allowing it (wife moved out today), but definitely gonna need to unwind next week!
  14. Managed to nab the top edition a few days ago. Will be my first 2600 homebrew!
  15. Sounds great! Look forward to seeing the final product!
  16. I've enjoyed my NGX immensely, and would recommend it regardless. Don't forget the NGX is a handheld system that can be utilized as a console.
  17. The system alone would cost almost as much as the X with a full game library. Besides, there's something authentic to the experience of playing with those reproduction joysticks.
  18. Sorry I didn't contribute for the Bubsy episode, but very well done, Shinto! Look forward to putting in my two cents for Iron Soldier, as I did enjoy that game quite a bit.
  19. Actually, the AES system isn't entirely horrible...pretty much costs about what it did in its heyday. And yes, that's still not cheap (I've seen them CIB for around $600, about $300-400 loose), but not totally out there in context. The games, however, are what kill you, as they typically average $200+.
  20. Alex Kidd? You mean Keith Courage? I will say there are a lot of AWESOME games on the TG-16, particularly if you like shooters. Blazing Lazers remains a favorite, and it has a lot of other gems that really make me wonder if the system could have done a lot better had NEC not had such crap advertising (look up some old TG-16 ads...they're awful) and bothered to import the best games from Japan, where it took a large market share from Nintendo and Sega. On that note, there is a guy on eBay that does system repairs who can add a region free card so you can play imported games, and those are some of the best ones out there.
