  1. Some games got ported to everything and others got questionable downports. For example my favorite version of Ghouls n Ghosts is on the Sega Genesis and it is a of the arcade. This version of Streets of Rage is no where near as good as the Sega Genesis but pretty good considering the hardware it was on and overall fun to play. What are some good and bad downports you can think of?
  2. Ah now I remember. Guess I better look into a stronger deodorant...
  3. Thanks for clearing that up. I naturally assume a lot on this forum because I can not remember when I have ever encountered a mean spirited post. You are wise to wait I just jumped in because I wanted a portable solution that I could easily play on the big screen and have no regret.
  4. I did not know he did that on this forum. That is just tacky.
  5. Dude I don't follow. I did not have a random rambling guest in the video nor did I talk about hidden gems. Where is the connection?
  6. The Nintendo Switch is the next best innovation since the Wii. What do you think?
  7. You guys brought up some good points and overall the best statement I can come up with is that the Final Fight series is the best arcade beatemup that set the standard and the Streets of Rage series is the best console exclusive beatemup that built upon what we loved about Final Fight while adding some great new features and refinement. I love TMNT and all have aged well but for some reason I just didn't think of those like was said that superhero beatemups are in their own league and street brawlers I thought of separately also. As for Goldenaxe I love the series but I will admit the action feels slow at times but overall is still solid to this day.
  8. I enjoy Final Fight but Streets of Rage definitely feels like it has aged better. Which is your favorite beatemup series and has it aged well for what it is today?
  9. Most Game Boy titles that share the same name or come from the same series of games on the NES are usually watered down ports or no where near as good as their NES counterparts. Operation C on the Game Boy truly feels like a third installment in the series that not many people talk about. Can you think of any other Game Boy games that are under the radar like this one?
  10. Everyone mentions Tetris, Dr. Mario, Puzzle Bobble, Columns, etc. But you rarely hear about games like this. What others are out there we should know about?
  11. You at least had Final Fight on the Sega CD and Arcade as an alternative. But double dragon on the NES is another great example though. You would think any beatem requires at least a 2 player option.
  12. It blows my mind how many games could have been so much better with a multiplayer option. This one especially stands out. What ones can you think of?
  13. I really enjoyed the SNES original in this series and my interest never carried over to the sequels. I recently tried the N64 game and enjoyed the experience but not as much s the original. Now it could be nostalgia getting in the way but what is the overall consensus on this series of where the games line up from best to worst?
  14. Thanks! Did you beat it and what difficulty?
  15. Thanks for the input. I play all games on original hardware using a Sony PVM 20L5 monitor, el gato, and framemeister. It does seem the consensus from the majority of critiques I got were the same as you described. I was told I sounded "wooden with delivery", "robot", "scripted", and lecturing at a school hall. It does unfortunately seem you are correct when it comes to successful channels you either need to be a raging lunatic or an over the top goofball. My goal of the channel is to just build a solid group of people who share my interests and can converse about the topics I post; not the typical pipe dream of doing this for a living because I honestly could not do that nor want to. I am going to add more energy to future reviews and if I do not see a difference in results I might just fall back to my boring self and try to make unenergetic wooden delivery my schtick. I really appreciate you taking the time to watch this and give me your impression. Look forward to talking to you on future videos.
  16. I am a small channel and from what all my research tells me to grow I am forced to go the review route. I posted my very first real review on a Sega Genesis game and if anyone can give me some constructive criticism on it I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
  17. I owned a 32X at launch because I needed something that could run DOOM but not be at the cost of a new PC at the time. I enjoyed it for what it was then just got an N64. The past 3 months I played every 32X cart game and came up with this list. After playing every game I can not say the system is nearly as bad as people say. The only thing bad about the system is the limited library and aesthetics when you really look at it. I really believe if developers put some time and effort in this addon it could of been really great for the time. Too bad we will never know. What do you think?
  18. I could not resist modding my GBA with an SP 101 screen to have the best of both worlds with a backlit screen and great ergonomics. But in the future will the value of this be much lower than an original because it has been modded? What do you think about this and any other situations where modding could improve or lower the value of retro systems?
  19. What would your high score have been at the 1990 NWC?
  20. Some things should have been left alone. This is one of them. No surprise this did not see a US release. Anybody a fan of this series?
  21. I know many people discuss favorite Halloween games during this time but what is your favorite Coop game for the season? This is the only one I can think of off hand.
  22. Luckily I have stores like this near me. Are these stores common where you live?
  23. DOOM has aged like a fine wine. Can you think of any other FPS games that have done the same?
  24. What games would entice you to purchase a multitap? For me it was WWF Raw on the Sega Genesis back in the day. I also never knew back then you could multitap up to 10 people on Saturn Bomberman which seems a little excessive but awesome at the same time.
