  1. Does anyone have any ideas what the issue could be? My symptoms: 2600 powers ON if I insert the power cord (with the power switch in the "ON" position). Power switch WILL turn the 2600 OFF by pushing it down like normal. Power switch will NOT turn on the 2600 by pushing the power switch to the "ON" position (with the power supply connected). In order for it to power on I need to remove then reinsert the power cord into the console (leaving the power switch in the "ON" position). Power switch will turn the 2600 off, but not on. But the power switch must be in the on position in order to turn on by inserting the power supply into the back of the console.
  2. This is a must buy in my book. Finally another modern looking, 3Dish game. I'm so tired of the "retro inspired" 2D score chasers on this console. Though I do enjoy the Recharged series. Only issue I have with Doodle Taxi is the information screen upon picking up or dropping off a customer disappears way too fast. I don't think I've been able to read a single one completely yet. EDIT: I just discovered that you don't need to slow down or even stop to pick up or drop off passengers. Perhaps that's why the information screen flashes by so quickly. Your actually still moving, it would be blocking your view otherwise.
  3. I loved the Wii U, but must admit that using the second screen along with the television screen was problematic for me. Because I need glasses when watching the TV, but can't see the second screen on the gamepad unless I remove my glasses. That made it quite annoying to play games that required the gamepad screen (like Zombi U). Having to constantly raise and lower my glasses.
  4. I recently received an RGB/ S- Video/ composite modded Intellivision I console. Both composite and S-Video have horrible auto buzz/hum. Not nearly as bad via RGB. Only way to "diminish" the audio buzz when using composite or S-Video is to make sure the RGB Scart cable is connected simultaneously (Scart cables sync connection must be connected for this "fix" to work). So at this rate, the only way I can use composite or S-Video is through a monitor with a RGB connection also. I purchased a ground loop adapter hoping it would fix the issues without the need for RGB to be constantly connected, but it didn't help. Here is a short 10 second clip of the noise: https://vimeo.com/812925594
  5. I'm not near my consoles at the moment, but here are pictures of exactly how the mod was done on the Intellivision 2 (it has been totally removed and cleaned up at this point). I had yet to drill any holes for the plugs. https://postimg.cc/B85Ftdcw https://postimg.cc/rzZrdGxc Edit: I do have that adjustable dial below the U10 color IC chip that you mention (on the Intellivision 2)
  6. I used a kit very similar to the kits pictured below. I've done these AV kits installs a few times before without issue, it's a very easy procedure. Both consoles were working fine before the install. I started with an Intellivision I. Upon completion, no picture, no sound (but you see the TV screen turn black). Double checked everything, all fine. Got fed up after an hour or so of troubleshooting and removed the kit from the Intellivision I console. STILL no picture or sound. I installed the same kit into an Intellivision II (very stupid mistake). Same thing. No picture, no sound. Even with the kit removed. Something must be wrong with this kit. Any ideas what could have blown on both these consoles? I see no physical damage anywhere on either board.
  7. For anyone else that may encounter the same issue I had of the modern controller not working with Caverns of Mars, I solved it by going into VCS system settings, choosing "Forget Controller", and then pair it again to the console.
  8. That's weird. I just connected a mouse and keyboard but I'm still unable to use the modern controller wireless in Caverns of Mars (all the other games in my library work fine). What's really unusual though is upon booting the game with the mouse and keyboard attached, I see the opening splash screens in Caverns of Mars for the first time. All this time all I saw was a black screen and heard those splash screen noises. Then the title screen would appear. I was under the impression that was how it was supposed to be for some odd reason. I now see those opening splash screens whether or not the keyboard and mouse are attached. I wonder what could be causing this. I did upgrade the ram to 16gb and installed a 1tb drive, not long after launch of the console, but doubt that would be the issue. Come to think of it, yesterday I purchased Caverns of Mars and AKKA ARRH and after each purchase, the console became unresponsive (couldn't even press "download" after these purchases). Had to reboot the console manually. One purchase didn't even go through even though I had paid (AKKA ARRH). I had to contact customer service and request they activate it.
  9. Thanks for the reply, but no matter what button I pressed on the Atari modern controller the game would not start. So I experimented a bit and discovered that the Atari modern controller MUST be wired in order for it to be recognized and usable in the game. Matter of fact, when wired, "press space" isn't seen and neither is "press X", it's been replaced by the proper "press A".
  10. Caverns of Mars doesn't work with the modern controller? Only the classic? When I attempt to start the game with the modern controller, the game firstly says "press space key" and then "press X". Classic controller works fine, but still says "press X" to begin.
  11. Has anyone got this game to work with the Concerto with the latest firmware?
  12. I really like it, but $2500 seems way too much. I might consider $1000 at most. Shipped to Massachusetts.
  13. Is my in game map 100% complete? Can't seem to access those black squares (the ones not surrounded by white borders) no matter what I try (see pictures).
  14. Refund my deposit. Refund my purchase price for all 8 games. Refund my purchase price for my Amico T shirt. Why I purchased the shirt I will never know. The material is very soft and comfortable, but I would never be caught in public wearing it.
  15. Yes, I have one piece in my cart too. $5 for shipping is what I expected. Must be a bug or something on my end. Unless...Where are these being shipped from? Outside the United States?
  16. Why is the shipping so expensive? Hokey chip is $15 which is a great price, but the shipping is also $15 (I'm located in the USA).
  17. Works fine all summer, but in the winter months, if I don't have heat on in my game room, my CRT will not turn on. No light, no sounds, nothing. If I turn the heat on and come back in an hour or so, the TV will immediately come to life if I turn it on. Any idea what could be causing this? A capacitor perhaps? If so, how could I know which one for they all look fine.
  18. The Tron watch I purchased around the time of Tron Legacy on eBay. The Sea-Monkeys aquarium watch (which actually holds water and live Sea-Monkeys) I purchased from a Sea-Monkey catalog in the 80's. That watch was rereleased a few years ago, but could only tell time. It was not an aquarium like the older version pictured.
  19. I see what you mean. Even with the sensitivity on max it's way too slow to be playable. I've been thinking though that we need to fabricate some sort of actual standard size spinner top to attach to the top of the classic controller. I think that might help.
  20. I don't have a clue who made these. I probably got them in a stash at least 5 years ago. Didn't know what they belonged to until I saw the stickers on the back. "INTY" turned out to be for Intellivision, and "CV" worked on my Colecovision.
  21. Thank you. I just ordered the Long Play Disc controller adapter mentioned above (he only had 3 in stock so better now or never). I'm in the USA so it might take a bit to get here and test with the modded Snes controller. Regardless, I will need it anyway for my pre ordered Long Play Disc controllers whenever that comes up.
  22. I recently found this Snes modded controller that is set up for the Intellivision II console with it's plug. It also included another modded Snes controller, but for the Colecovision. They both work great with their respective consoles. But I have a AV modded Intellivision I that I'd rather use this controller on instead of my stock Intellivision II. I'm on the list to purchase a set of the Long Play Disc Controllers for use with my AV modded Intellivision I, but in the meantime, is there any kind of adapter available that will allow me to use this modded Snes controller on my Intellivision I? Will the controller adapter that can be purchased with the Long Play Disc controllers work with this? Even though, once I receive my Long Plays, this will be put away but I think I can order the adapter immediately, separately, before my Long Plays are ready, for they have a few adapters in stock.
