Here is a screen of my new color ANSI terminal on the big screen...
Hey, that's pretty cool... That's a 130XE? What terminal program is that?
Yes. It is a 130XE on screen. The terminal program is mine, of my own making. I call it ANSITERM. It does 8 colors on screen (so you have 8 colors for the background text and 8 colors for the foreground).
Here is the XEX file. It is still beta... So there is some screen noise, it uses extended memory and can be slow.. but it looks good.
And the commands in the term window:
* CTRL-SHIFT-D - Delete Macros
* CTRL-SHIFT-N - New Macro Save to Disk
* CTRL-SHIFT-M - Macro Load
* CTRL-SHIFT-R - Baud [R]ate * (Was CTRL-SHIFT-B)
* CTRL-SHIFT-F - Toggle Line [F]eeds * (Was CTRL-SHIFT-L)
* CTRL-SHIFT-E - Toggle Local [E]cho
* CTRL-SHIFT-S - Toggle 80/40 columns (creen Size) * (Was CTRL-SHIFT-C)
* CTRL-SHIFT-W - Toggle Word [W]rap
* CTRL-SHIFT-T - Toggle [T]erminal Emulation (ATASCII, ANSI, VT52 mode)
* CTRL-SHIFT-H - [H]angUp
* CTRL-SHIFT-I - nsert char mode or Replace mode (replace is default)
* CTRL-SHIFT-> - Move screen Right
* CTRL-SHIFT-(UP_ARROW) "
* CTRL-SHIFT-< - Move screen Left
* CTRL-SHIFT-(DOWN_ARROW) "
* CTRL-SHIFT-? - Toggle screen
* CTRL-SHIFT-[ - Toggle Foreground Color
* CTRL-SHIFT-] - Toggle Background Colo

I use Cygwin on the same machine in which I am running APE.
I am working on a small Cygwin install that includes everything that an Atarian would want: lynx, pine, tin, irc, sz/rz (xmodem,ymodem,zmodem transfers).
I will post this Cygwin install here soon. This way, you do not need to setup a separate machine than your APE host.
Yes please do,Cybernoid. It would be very appreciated.
Since I can't get on the 'Net with my A8 through dial-up anymore,I swear I get dirty looks
from the Atari side of the room,whenever I go on-line!
Just about to post in another thread...

My 2yo Daughter loves Q*bert and Pole Position.

Great work. This is beyond good... ahem... evil.
So, are you still thinking of an isometric game as well?

This is awesome! I cannot believe that all of these games came out this year.

You could also try the 'Columns' clone I did called 'Colours':http://atari.fandal.cz/detail.php?files_id=4980
One of those lesser used screen modes to get more colours.
Sorry that I never got around to putting any music into it.
Regards,
Mark
Very good game! I have played it... and very good use of colo(u)rs.

OK. Great! Will do!Your game is BEAUTIFUL but unfortunately I am terrible at playing it!
Do you have any strategy tips to offer?
Thanks! I am glad you like it.
And, sure: here are some strategy tips:
1. Just try to match 3 jellybeans at first. Find 3 adjacent columns that have the same color jellybeans in them. Move those columns up and down to make a match on the center row.
2. If you get a brick, always make sure that when you match 3 or more jellybeans, to include the columns that contain the bricks. That is, once a brick shows up on screen, work hard to get rid of it by match jellybeans in that column, or else you are stuck...
Let me know if that helps...
I mentioned this a quite while back but I'm still impressed by all the colors you managed to provide in Jelly Beans.
Ah, yes. Now I remember. Didn't you say that your CTIA enabled 800 never had displayed some many colors!

Jellybeans has so many colors because I had an idea in mind (thanks to several technical posts from others on AtariAge) to make many colors on a small portion of the screen and designed the game around it... or rather ported a Java game I had been working on....I think I found a way to make the colors better and hopefully will be used in another one of my future games...

I am seeing a spike around Flowers Mania!!!

Okay, here is my Holidays 2006 Demo! I took a game I was working on and added a Christmas feel and music.
This is playable game demo. The basic idea is:
In the theme of puzzle games that don't make much sense, there are red, green and blue Christmas balls hidden in the 9 candy canes. You need to turn all the trees surrounding the candy canes into christmas trees. You do this by clicking on them with the cursor to shoot a magic Christmas light into the candy canes. The light will come out somewhere as red, green, blue, yellow, purple, cyan or white light. This will tell you where to move the cursor to place the Christmas balls...
Have fun, Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Atari Year Y'all!!!

Jellybeans is a cool puzzle game.
(and, of course, I am biased!)

This JAMMA joystick is on my wishlist for my 5200. I suppose with the Redemtion device this Sega version would work fine. There's also a 2600 version available. Lefty and righty67 versions too.http://www.goatstore.com/info.php?id=811314
If anyone has been followring DoctorKamino doing his month of 2600 on youtube, this is the joystick he uses and shows on occasion.
I like these joysticks! Awesome... The price is a little high, but...

Is that my MPP-1000E 300bps modem in there? I think I gave that to you months ago...
Yeh I have two of those, one still in the box. I am impressed with joystick modems, just wish these went faster than 300 baud.
Speaking of exchanges, you still have those strange controllers with the large number buttons on them? That was the most bizarre Atari controller I have seen yet.
Yes! I will have to take a picture! Also, this will connect to the Atari joystick port.... it is my ST2Jamma board, but you could connect the Atari 8bit joystick ports to a real arcade cabinet with it... (and maybe get a B&W picture from the 8bit as well on the RGB monitor

Also, I see that my CX-85 made it in the post as well.

Don't think the XL version of Omnimon will work in an 800P.S. What is that photo on your 8 bit Ethernet site with the Altair?
You are right. The XL version will not work with the 800.
That is a picture of what I was doing at my work a few years ago. It shows 2 Quickturn System Realizer boxes. Each box has 10 boards and a Sun Sparc. Each board has 80 Xilinx FPGAs. I am a hardware designer and I used these boxes to emulate a 4million gate asic. Both of them connected together with a dsp board and 2 ARM cpu boards created something that would produce video at 1MHz (Yes slower than the Atari 8bit).
It was a fun project to work on... just not fun to have to re-cable 320 cables...

-
I know you are looking for the 800 version, but I have the XL version in my 130XE:

I don't use Omniview much any more, but I do like to have the Omnimom ROM since all the entry points in the ROM are the OS/B entry points, so if you set the switch to this position, you can boot programs that require the old OS without the translator disk.

Good idea. I was not aware of the original ANSITerm. I did know of an Ansiterm on the ST.
Any ideas on a name for this Terminal? Color AnsiTerm?
Here are a few more pictures just for fun. Flowers Mania looks awesome via S-video and a big screen!
