Here is the PD version of MPP Express v1.0. I used this extensively in the 80s. mppxpres.zip -
Awesome!

Ah, I knew that this thread would eventually degrade into something along the lines of a "put them into a vintage brig" joke....

Got to try that one...

The last day to vote for the best Atari game

Hehehe... 15th. I'll take it! Heck, I threw the original Click! together in 2 weeks. Maybe I should make a Click! Valentine's Day edition... -
The last day to vote for the best Atari game
Cybernoid replied to Kaz atarionline.pl's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Alright! All of my games came in at 17th, 18th, 19th... I always strive for mediocrity. Seriously though, I agree with the results. We saw some awesome stuff in 2008. I hope we have even more in 2009! -
Yes, I remember last year having to find out what sid it was that was used by 50 and T... I believe that it is called Summertime.

640 x 200 x 2 color mode discussion
Cybernoid replied to potatohead's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Yeah, I noticed that too. I think I captured the screens in 640x480 mode (looks better than 720x480 mode because of the sampling). I'll capture in 640x240 to try to capture just the fields instead of having the software deinterlace them. -

640 x 200 x 2 color mode discussion
Cybernoid replied to potatohead's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Potatohead, I have a nice capture card that allows connecting composite to S-video... Y and composite are actually the same input with some software to change the chip settings... let me know if you want me to make some screen captures... -

Interesting idea. Most displays these days have a Y/C Separator circuit (http://www.wipo.int/pctdb/en/wo.jsp?IA=WO2000013422&DISPLAY=DESC). This is to minimize the luma being mistaken for chroma and vice versa. However, if you Display has S-video in, I do not think that any Y/C Separator is used. The display manufacturer assumes that it is separated already. So, if you feed the composite signal to the Y you can affect the luma by the chroma interference. Anyway, here are some pics: NTSC composite to composite. NTSC composite to S-video Zoom in: Since the chroma changes phase by 180deg every line (does it just change 180deg every field? have to investigate that...), you get a nice checker board or hash pattern on screen because of the chroma. I think this may be the affect that potatahead is refering to... You can take advantage of this on a per-line basis and have increased resolution... -

OK. Be sure to put the Port as "23" instead of "70", that will get you started. How do you access the stored dialing from the Atari? Have you tried Bob-Term with this? Oh, and you probably want the "Server Enabled" not checked.
