    Just wondering...since entering the world of emulation, and in particular gaming on a "simulated" Genesis/Megadrive console, it seems I'm really enjoying playing the Streets of Rage series. When I first ran across this game and had an original model 1 Genesis, I avoided this game as I didn't enjoy "fighting" games. However, now that it's about 20 years later (or so), I'm finding that I absolutely LOVE this series. I played a great session of SoR II this morning and topped 120,000 points in my first go around with the game. Anyone else playing this series today? The music in particular is pretty stellar from area to area as you go along.

    This is one I recommend. I've been playing Wizardry 1 since its inception, and the NES version is just a great version IMHO. I also recommend Ultima: Exodus. Again, another game I played from its inception way back in the day and the NES version is, once again, great.

    So this week I played (sorry, last week as of this writing): SNES Yoshi's Island - 30 minutes Super Mario World - 20 minutes Ms. Pacman - 60 minutes (just couldn't seem to stop hitting reset) Space Invaders - 20 minutes (I need some major practice) Genesis/Megadrive Sonic the Hedgehog - 10 minutes Altered Beast - 5 minutes (did not go well and completely out of practice) Earthworm Jim - 10 minutes Shining in the Darkness - 30 minutes Atari 2600 Phoenix - 10 minutes Pitfall! - 15 minutes Space Invaders - 10 minutes Spider Fighter - 5 minutes

    It was a no-brainer for me to purchase the SNES after many years of enjoying my NES back in the day. My favorite game on the system was Super Mario World (and still is today), but another game I really enjoyed was Donkey Kong Country. The graphics really "wowed" me, so again it was a no brainer to purchase that as soon as it was available. Of course another big point in the system's favor was the Final Fantasy series, which again, is enjoyed to this day. It never gets old (in particular Final Fantasy 6 (3). I'm happily enjoying the system more so than my Xbox One, which I rapidly feel is going by the wayside soon to make room for more classic gaming fun.

    I really hadn't though a whole lot about this. I have an Xbox One S and it's still playable, I can still get games for it (although without the enhancements that come with the Series S/X), and my library of games is fairly large enough to keep going for a good bit of time yet. I've also been going backward to the NES/SNES/Genesis, so this isn't really a concern for me. No desire to get the latest generation, either.

    I remember investing heavily in the NES during that time frame, and was completely hooked on it, buying everything I could and the games I really wanted for it (mostly Final Fantasy...it was a big favorite). Had a poster of the NES promo on my bedroom door, too. I had the lightgun, ROB the Robot, etc. Those were good times for me. My Atari 2600 was a thing of the past at that point, having left it with my parents when I moved out on my own. However, around 2000 or so I started getting back into Atari and now have a sizable collection of boxed and loose games for my light six-switch. No NES in sight, unless you count it being emulated on a Raspberry Pi.

    I've had Diablo 2 Resurrected now for my Xbox One since a day or two after the release. It's been pretty addictive to me personally, running difference characters and playing whenever I have some time (usually at night when things are settled down). There's been a few nights when I've looked at the clock and realized it's midnight. Yep, I'm hooked!

    Hi, folks: I have a 6 switch light that I've had for years and it still runs top notch. However, the power button seems to have an issue when I power on a game, sometimes the game goes all glitch like until I flip it a few more times. After a few flips, the game is fine. Do you folks think it's a connection or just dirty? I'm not at all comfortable opening up the system to see what's wrong, as I have a tendency to wreck things once I tinker like that. If you could recommend a good cleaning, however, and a solution that might do the trick, I would appreciate your insights. In addition, if I leave the power switch on and turn off the system with the power strip, it seems absolutely fine when it powers on (no flicker). Could be a bad switch in general, I think. Your thoughts would be welcome. Steve

    Here's my list that I try to play every day: Space Invaders Asteroids Missile Command Berzerk Pacman Ms. Pacman Phoenix Pitfall Just to name a few, but these are my main "go to" games on any given day. This morning was Phoenix and Ms. Pacman before work.

    I agree. The artwork is still incredible to this day. It fired my imagination as I played the games and read the manuals (manuals you say? Wow...real manuals inside the box!). I even leave the game on in it's attract mode if it has one just to enjoy the nostalgia even more.

    Ah, the dimly lit, smoke-filled arcades of my youth. Terrible places, all of them........ Which I frequented quite a bit to play AND watch others play my favorite arcades games. Then moving to my home, the Atari 2600 became a staple but NOT a centerpiece in my life. I still had things I had to do in the outside world of video games, but the Atari was always there, waiting, for me to take a minute or two to play a game. I have a house, yard, animals, a full-time job, and responsibilities. You know what? I manage all of that and still find time to have "fun".

    I still have my Atari 2600 set up, with all my favorite games nearby to play at a moment's notice. Besides the nostalgia factor, Atari has always been a part of my life for the last 30 plus years. I grew up with the Atari 2600 in my house, and it was my very first experience playing interchangeable games on a television. I couldn't bear to part with it now, and the fact that I appreciate it more as the years roll by make it ideal for me. I played this morning, actually, a few rounds of Phoenix and Ms. Pacman and you know what? I still had time to get ready for work! Couldn't do that with my Xbox One and games like Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen, or Diablo III. There's no one that I know of the younger generation that would even consider playing Atari 2600 today, as it's just not in depth enough for them to latch onto. "What do you mean it's not online?" is a common question and incredulous notion for the kids. I just smile knowingly and enjoy the nostalgia all to myself. Except you folks, however, who can certainly relate.

      I answered with some rousing games of Ms. Pacman, and several exciting rounds of Missile Command...then topped the evening off with Phoenix. It was a good night...

    Been playing Space Crew a lot lately, purely discovered it by chance. Also began (again) Diablo III and some classic arcade gaming on my Xbox One. Stoked that the Diablo II remake is coming, plus looking forward to Diablo IV when it eventually arrives. Other games I was playing have dropped by the wayside for now. My interest changes almost daily, it seems.

    Back into Diablo III again, most likely due to the remake of Diablo II coming out and Diablo IV on the horizon.

      Well, Diablo III would be considered "simple" I suppose, from what I've read. Treading into battle seems like you take very little damage and kill everything that moves. I'm not sure if others have had this experience, but last night when I played (on normal), it seemed harder. Maybe the last update balanced this more? It feels more in line with Diablo II now versus what it was a few months ago. I was actually having a struggle taking down some enemies, even "normal" ones. I was ecstatic about it, actually! :D Maybe it was my imagination, but it played more like Diablo II.

      @Unbeliever there is literally no cap on difficulty level, so you can certainly take a ton of damage. At higher levels, my Demon Hunter gets one-shotted quite frequently.

    I recently got this as part of my Midway Arcade game disc for the Xbox 360. Now I just need to post a score here....time to get a game going tonight after work to see how well I do..

    Recently, I thought I would take a trip down memory lane and gather some arcade games from my youth and plop them on a modern console. Since I lack the space and funds to purchase full-size arcade machines, I thought I might as well combine the old into a relatively new machine that does everything else. I'm not sure how many folks out there emulate on a modern console, but I wanted to put feelers out to get your thoughts on games to acquire (1980's games would be good), controllers to use, and other bits of advice I can take and run with. I have a few classics already, such as Defender, Pacman, Ms. Pacman, and Xybots, but what are some of the ones you own and where did you get them? Thanks, everyone. Question: Was there a version of Berzerk or Frenzy available on the Xbox?

    Big shout out to More Fun and Putt's Alley, both of which I spent considerable time in during my teenage years. All gone now, unfortunately. Nearest arcade to me is Funspot, about two hours away.
