  1. Update from my last posting to this topic: Still playing State of Decay 2 (with the new updates applied, Juggernaut Edition), and am going to start (again) State of Decay: Year One edition. Working on Borderlands 3 and will be getting into The Outer Worlds later.
  2. So from what I've seen so far, this game looks pretty damn good. It's been awhile since I've played a first-person Star Wars game (the N64 Rogue Squadrons comes to mind), so I was wondering who here might be ordering it or pre-ordering it for it's pending October release. Thoughts? Comments? All are welcome!
  3. If you like Zombie games, State of Decay 2 is a must buy IMO. It's really improved in the last year, and they added a "green zone" for new players to experience the game and get their feet wet.
  4. The more I see the new next generation consoles, the more I love my Atari 2600.

New consoles are just too much of a hassle anymore. With confidence I can say that the Amico is going to be the last for me. Modern console that is.  :P

Phoenix, Amico, Evercade, Turbografx Mini, NT Mini Noir...These are "Modern Consoles" to me!

I'm just losing interest. My Xbox One S is more for media these days than game playing. Maybe being home all this time from being furloughed has changed me, but I seem to appreciate the simpler consoles more than ever.

  5. Gotten back into the Atari 2600 and spiffied up my old lite sixer , and still works great!

I was gonna ask if you really really like it. But that goes without saying.

There's nothing like going back to a gaming system that has stood the test of time. It's always been my first and favorite experience into the gaming world. :)

  6. Great to be back. :) Gone back to my roots with my Atari 2600 and all the games I loved as a kid.

I still have a ton of boxed games to collect out there.

  7. I've had an original model Switch now for a few months, and I have to say I haven't looked back. The first game I ended up with was Breath of the Wild, then followed up with a few more as time has gone by. I am most impressed with this system, and I love the fact that I can take it with me, then plug it back in to it's dock and play it full screen (Pokemon on the big screen? Awesome!) I miss my 3DS at times, due to the game line up, but the Switch certainly compares to that now (from the perspective of a new owner). I'm looking forward to having the Switch for a long time to come, and building up a great library over time.
  8. I'm still undecided on who I want in my team of 6. Pikachu for me is a must (spunky little mouse), but rounding out the other members I always seem to have difficulty deciding on. Any advice or team members you recommend?
  9. I picked Shield up on Friday, and I haven't looked back. The similarities to all the other Pokemon games was expected, and I do enjoy playing it on the big screen then taking it with me wherever I go. I haven't "Dynamaxed" yet, but am focusing on catching different Pokemon and trying my hand at rounding out my current team (Yes, I have Pikachu in there...and Scorbunny...I couldn't pass up Pika). I did play Pokemon Sun on my 3DS when I had one, so the graphics and whatnot seem similar (seems faster paced, though).
  10. Well, with two games pre-ordered for November...that's a "no" for now. Luigi's Mansion 3 and Pokemon Shield are priorities right now. I've played the demo and did enjoy it, but I've never been a huge DQ fan, anyway. Perhaps later on.
  11. I personally love my Switch. It has the glass protector on the front, and I picked up a BotW case for it (since I'm a huge Zelda fan). I disagree about the portability function...works well for me personally (not for everyone though), as I was looking for something versatile that could go from the dock to being carried around and played whenever I want. I also recommend a $20 online membership, granting you access to the NES and SNES games I personally love. Many of the games I loved on the 3DS look stunning on the Switch, and I just picked up Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening and have been playing Octopath Traveler and a ton of Breath of the Wild.
  12. Wow, new site format looks stunning. Great job, folks. Glad I paid a visit!

Gotta agree. Like most people, I resist change, and I didn't care for it at first. But it has really grown on me and I can barely remember what the old site was like.

I agree. I've forgotten the old system, but it's been awhile since I've been here.

  13. Well, yes, I pre-ordered one and yes, I paid it off in it's entirety. Not having an original Switch had me wondering if I wanted a portable or hybrid. I'm looking for just the portability feature, thus the Switch Lite was a no brainer buy. Already pickup up BotW to play on it once I have it in my hands, and am thinking of the next game or two I want to get (probably Octopath Traveler and Mario Odyssey). This will most likely be my last buy of "new" consoles, and I will attempt to focus on collecting for it down the road.
  14. I love Activision titles for my Atari 2600, in particular Pitfall and Laser Blast (two of my favorites). Nary a flicker from what I can see. I could play both of these for hours and was always impressed by the way they programmed for the Atari 2600.
  15. Nostalgia and memories of a time in my youth where things were a lot different in the gaming world than they are today. This console has been in my household for years. I think I've gone through many consoles and PC systems, only to come back to Atari 2600 time and again. The games required a certain level of imagination, and the artwork was amazing for it's time. Games today don't require too much thought to imagine their worlds, but Atari games certainly did. Pac-man was and still is well-liked to this day, plus many others like Asteroids and Space Invaders. Classics that are different from the arcades they were born from, but still are awesome translations. Sometimes I become disillusioned with today's modern games and step back, plug in my favorite Atari games from yesteryear, and feel those tingles of good times from the 80's kick in.
  16. Hi, folks! Found a working O2 locally. Thanks for anyone that responded. Steve
  17. Well, I'm back. Did anyone notice I was gone?

Well well, thanks folks. Good welcomes. Glad to be back with my Atari family.

  18. I have this game in physical form, and I have to say it's VERY enjoyable. The many aspects of the game are really appealing to me, more so than Elite: Dangerous (which has now taken a back seat to this game). I was miffed at first that it was on PS4, but I'm more than ecstatic that it came to Xbox One. This game is so easy to get lost in and completely lose track of all concepts of time...
  19. Hello, folks. Been awhile since I've been hanging around the AtariAge Forums. Good to see this topic! I've been playing two games consistently: No Man's Sky NEXT and State of Decay 2. These games consume a good portion of my gaming time. The SoD2 game is pretty good. Still filled with particular glitches, but this one always captivates me. no Man's Sky NEXT was my "need" for exploration in space after Elite: Dangerous. The next game I'm planning on getting is Doom Eternal. Looks friggin' sweet! -Unbeliever
  20. I have an original Xbox One (the big black box) and have had no issues. But then again, my internet connection is very stable and the Xbox seems to like that. I also have my Xbox 360 nearby that's plugged in in case I want to play some games that I have for it that are not BC with my Xbox One (namely, Kingdoms of Amalur, which I absolutely love). I'm not saying that the Xbox One is perfect, but I have never had any issues, including freezing up, with it. The updates went smoothly the last time it was required, but it wasn't a really "old" model that had one of the first iterations of the operating system. I actually enjoy the controller over the 360 one, and the wireless feature seems to have no issues. I actually prefer a wired controller since the Xbox One is very close to where I play, so I'm not worried about how far away I get (I usually sit near the TV and system, anyway...great for the eyes). The BC functionality of the Xbox One is awesome. Some games I really just want to play on the Xbox One, other games I can't (as I mentioned), so I am keeping my 360. Besides, both machines compliment one another on my gaming shelves. As far as retro games go, I have a few (Pac Man, Ms. Pac Man, Galaga, Dig Dug, Asteroids) and they all work just fine with no issues. I am far from saying the Xbox One is perfect, but my particular system is fine and everything (knock wood) is working as it should. The most enjoyable game I've been playing so far is Elite: Dangerous.
  21. My memories of Skyrim are mostly positive ones. I've played on both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One, usually a Nord or Khajitt (Khajit?) Kat...) and did make several attempts at Mage only play but ended up back with a shield and blade. Then worked on getting one of the legendary weapons such as Dawnblade. Loved that sword. So at this point, I'm looking for the game again for my Xbox 360. It was, and in my opinion still is, a great open-world game. I really never joined a faction other than the College of Winterhold when playing a Mage. Most times I free lanced all over the place, dungeon exploring and doing side quests. It's SO EASY to get distracted in this game....
  22. A few weeks back, I picked up a new 2DS XL Pikachu edition and haven't looked back since. This is my favorite portable system thus far. The Switch isn't an option at the moment, so with all the games on the 3DS system, you really can't go wrong. The library is huge for all manner of gaming types. I recommend: Animal Crossing: New Leaf New Super Mario Bros. 2 Metroid: Samus Returns Pokemon Ultra Sun Miitopia A small portion of the games I love, but this is a good start. Oh yeah, The RPG's from Mario and Luigi are awesome as well.
  23. Damn...Dead Space still scares the crap outta me!

No kidding! I just started playing the original Dead Space for the first time last week and it's pretty terrifying. Horror games don't usually make me feel uneasy while playing them but Dead Space is something special.

    2. Skippy B. Coyote

      Skippy B. Coyote

I will add though that at this point I'm about 2/3 of the way through the game and it is getting REALLY repetitive. I'll still see it through to the end, but I do like Dead Space: Extraction on the Wii more for focusing on the scares and action and doing away with the endless fetch quests.

    3. Rick Dangerous

      Rick Dangerous

Need to get it for PS3. I though Dead Space: Extraction for the Wii was pretty damn good too!

  24. About a month or so ago I picked up a new 2DS XL Pikachu edition with a few games. So far, Miitopia hasn't left the cartridge slot, followed closely by Pokemon Ultra Sun. Great portable system in general. I really need to stop letting the Gamestop guys talk me into stuff...I'm such a pushover.
