Nope. Those consoles were never released in Brazil. And they were not known at the time, with the possible exception of a few hard core gamers (but I never heard about it). Can you imagine the trouble to import those babies at the time? As always, my friend Tom is right! But Gradiente, the official licensee of 2600 in Brazil (under the brand Polyvox) projected a 7800 clone. The console design was just the same as original 7800, but there was a little changing on the final product: it became a NES clone! So, we got the Phantom System, a NES clone (72 pin carts!) that looked almost exactly as an Atari 7800!

It's the latest "cost-reducing" version of Polyvox console, sold around '89-'90 here in Brazil. The first version ('84) was exactly the same american "Vader" console with a little NTSC -> PAL-M conversion board added. There are versions with internal power supply and without difficulty switches. Even Polyvox became pirate after release games not Atari/Activision, like Frogger, Popeye, Spacemaster X-7 (Space Tunnel), Dishaster (Mr. Chin), I Want my Mommy (Apples and Dolls). At the time, assembled computers (and VGs) weren't allowed to be imported at all. But parts were actually encouraged to be imported. Polyvox officially imported "parts" to "assemble" consoles and cartridges. Actually, boards came completely assembled (soldering and stuff). Polyvox's work was enclose them in cases, attach labels when necessary, put them in boxes and sell... Yes, but Polyvox (actually, Gradiente, owner of the Polyvox brand) moved to NES fast enough to continue on VG industry. It was officially released. I had a friend that owned one at the time! I played on it. Nowadays, TomBrazil has one. And I played on this one too...

In a related post keilbaca says that he has a 4-switch console with a 6-switch bottom: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...ndpost&p=902489 As a friend of Tom, I was able to see this console with my own eyes. It doesn't show any sign of cuts in the plastic of "joystick holes area" of a regular 6-switch console. I don't think anyone can cut it so professionally, unless that "cheap plastic" was somehow loose or easy to cut. I don't think it was done to cheat. The potential cheater --supposing someone cheated, and one who would know enough about promo consoles to fake one-- probably would also know about the 2600/2600A thing on serial label. My guess is someone tried to build a console with spare parts and used promo console parts without knowledge... The most outrageous thing about this console that it was found on the wild... in Brazil (!) along with two others (4-switch). We never had promotional consoles here. In fact, units with woodgrain front have never been officially sold here. -H.B.

Hello, I'm rebuilding my collection from scratch, so I'm buying any 2600 Atari Red and Silver labels, and Activision rarity 4 or less, in good shape and NTSC. As I'm in Brazil, shipping is a issue. So, I'll only consider to buy lots with 30 carts at least. I'll take dupes too, in order to use them in future trades. At this moment, I have nothing to put on a trade, just buying. Thanks!

Series C-8xx ends on C-869 (which is Tank, as I remember). C-10xx was a series of "new" games (games that were never pirated by CCE at that point ). Carts like Mario Bros. , Smurfs RIGC and Jungle Hunt were released with golden labels, the main characteristic of C-10xx series.

Scales are half kilogram (almost 1 lb), not 1 kilogram as I presumed. 1 - 5 carts Surface = US$ 10.00 Airmail = US$ 11.50 EMS = US$ 24.50 These charges are valid at all brazilian territory, no matter what city the pack was shipped from. Obviously, these values are just a guideline. And I'm still thinking that guy who charged only $4 lost his money... And my english still sucks...

NTSC. There are no PAL-M carts, just PAL-M consoles. In fact, they're just adapted NTSC consoles.

International buyers, in most of cases are not occasional buyers. So, they will understand extra shipping costs, extra time and everything. Well, at least, I will... Why not accept PayPal from outside US buyers? Is that cross-border fee of paypal so high? Providing a link to USPS International Calculator on auctions may be useful to international buyers estimate shipping. :wink: Of course, weights must be specified. I always use a "5 loose 2600 carts equals 1 lb." pattern.

I'll check better later, but I think I have a Megamania spare copy. Found, but it's not in good shape. Some rips and written on label. Maybe it's the not the best forum to ask, but how much it worth? More than $0.02? It's not FS yet, just curious.
