Plus I read that a 1 gig will hold every Atari rom out there. I'm using a 64mb card (that's megabytes, not gigabytes), it has a little over 1500 files in about 130 folders and it's only using about 9.9 megabytes of space. I think 32 gigs is a little overkill.

I didn't mean ALL of the games your having trouble with, just name a few. Your original post was kinda vague. There are some games that require you to open the service menu and make adjustments.

Yes, I understand. It was probably a bad dump, because it works with Stella, but not Harmony Cart, and I found that the real name of the game is 'Sir Lancelot' - and I had many versions of that in my directories in the Harmony Cart, and I got one of them working (I didn't test the others), so never mind the Lancelot. Here, I tried to attach the Defender 2 16k version that didn't work with Harmony Cart (I tested it again just to be sure) Defender 2 (16K version).bin Maybe the same thing applies to the Defender II though, that it's just a bad dump.. I can try to find some other version of that 16k version. - Monk Looks like a bad dump. If you split that file into 2 8k files and compare those 2 chunks, there are 6 bytes staring at address FFA that are different. But the second 8k chunk is a perfect match for the 8k Defender II file.

Ok, at the top of the screen do you see ArcadeOS 2.45L What I mean is, is there an "L" after the version number? If so, that means that it's locked, to unlock it press L on your keyboard, then you should be able to press 2 to get to the config menu.

Couldn't edit my post above for some reason.

I'm no expert on ArcadeOS, but I just downloaded it (ver. 2.52) and it looks as though you can press 2 while a game is highlighted and that will bring up a menu where you can modify the game's configuration. Hope this helps.

Just select Space Invaders with your joystick or the select switch then press and hold the reset switch. Works for me.

Starpath Supercharger games on the Harmony cart
Buzbard replied to save2600's topic in Harmony Cartridge
It should also be noted that Party Mix should not be combined into a single file. Part 1 contains "Bop a Buggy" Part 2 contains "Tug of War" and "Wizard's Keep" Part 3 contains "Down On the Line" and "Handcar" If they are combined, the only game you'll ever see is "Bop a Buggy". Use the Select switch to toggle between the games in Parts 2 & 3. -
Yes, THANK YOU! to everyone involved in the production and development of the Harmony cart. A dream come true!

The "Emulation" forum would be a better place for this thread. To get the effect that you're looking for, start the game in Stella and press the Tab key, click "Game Properties" click the "Display" tab change the "Use Phosphor" setting to No click OK click Exit press ESC key Start your game again.

The score does roll over, to prove it, start Yar's Revenge in Stella, press the fire button to start a new game(you'll see a zero and a four on the srceen). Press the tilde key, it's the one next to the number 1 at the top of the keyboard. You'll see the debugger screen, at the top of the screen you'll see a box that looks like this: Double-click each of the numbers(highlighted in the pic), type 99 and press enter. Then press exit, you'll see a scrore of 999999. Now press the fire button and enjoy the purple shield!

Which games are you having trouble with?

Sorry for the slow reply time, Christmas and all. Looking at your attached file I see only one ROM file (Millipede.rom) Since that file is 16k I assumed that it was a set of 4k files combined into one file, so I split the file into separate 4k chunks, ran them through clrmampro and it renamed them as follows: 136013.1mn 136013-103.1l 136013-102.1jk 136013-101.1h in that order. So they are indeed millipede roms but, you need three more roms before mame will run it. They are: 136001-213.7e - 6fa3093a 136013-106.5p - f4468045 136013-107.5r - 68c3437a The number after the filename is the CRC of each file.

Welcome to AtariAge! Thanks for the headsup about the spyware, I'll keep an eye out for that. I've been using steam for a couple years now, big Half-Life fan! I haven't seen those arcade roms yet so I don't know what format thay may be in, since mame is looking for an exact file type. They may have simply renamed the files or perhapes combined multiple files into one file, or maybe their emulator is based on an older version of mame that's looking for an older set rom images than the newer version of mame uses. If you've used clrmamepro before then I suggest you use it to scan those roms, it does a very good job of renaming roms.

Hmmm, I don't think I've ever seen that before. I was thinking Tracker? where the hell is the Tracker? Then I found it. For others that haven't found it yet, it's at the top of this page.

I decided to make a sort of composite image for the 32-in-1 cart that would show all 32 screen shots in one, so I loaded up the screen shots in Photoshop, put them together and saved the .png file to my stella/screenshots folder. When I stared Stella to see if it worked, it didn't. The image was trashed, not the file itself, it's just that Stella can't display it. I saved it first as a non-interlaced png then I tried the interlaced png, still didn't work. So, I copied the image to MSPaint and saved, and it worked. I've attached all the files so you can check 'em out. I'm using Photoshop CS2 v9.0.2 if that helps. snaps.zip

No problem, I found a few lists myself that were inaccurate, so I looked at the rom which is 64k, I used a hex editor to split it into 32 2k roms, ran each one in Stella and created the list of games that way. Keep in mind that the list I provided is probably not 100% accurate, as some of these games look to be slightly modified versions of the original games. Just an FYI that the latest versions of Stella include native support for the 32-in-1 cart as a special bankswitch type. You start up the 64K ROM, and do a 'Control-r' to cycle through each one. This simulates how you'd play each game on an actual cart, where you'd need to power cycle to go to each consecutive game. Behind the scenes, Stella is basically doing what you did (splitting up the ROM into 2K pieces). There's also support for 2in1, 4in1, 8in1 bankswitching, which operates on the same principle. Autodetection doesn't reliably work for these, so you may have to set it manually. And to the other guy above that mentioned grey screens, this is the result of odd scanline counts in PAL mode (ie, it's just that way that a PAL TV works). This can be turned off in the Stella in the video settings (aka PAL color-loss effect). EDIT: I forgot to mention, if you turn on scanline counts with 'Alt-l', you'll see which game is which in the sequence (they'll be labeled as G1, G2, ...). Also, you'll see that the games that are greyscale have odd scanline counts. Now you tell me! Actually, I did that a couple years ago. This info is good to know, thanks. Stella surprises me again!

Thanks batari! I wonder if it would be possible to get a Harmony sub forum going here so we can find updates and info in one consistent place?
-
Just a guess, but one of those carts might have had some 'gunk' (that's a technical term btw) on the contacts and probably transferred to the contacts in the console, NES were notorious for doing that. Try cleaning the contacts of both the console and carts.

What kind of issues are you seeing, I've tried it on the Harmony cart and it seems to work fine(NTSC) the PAL version just rolls all the time.
