  1. Really? 2600 Trackball I have one of these and it has a switch on the bottom to select either Trackball mode or Joystick mode.
  2. I would definitely buy one or two of those, or maybe something like the Stelladaptor with 2 ports that would accept all of the old Atari controllers like the keyboards, tackball, 2 sets of paddles, etc...
  3. Here's one I photoshoped, it's not pretty but...
  4. I just tried Kool-Aid Man on the Harmony and it doesn't seem to work. I tried 3 versions, the one from AtariAge, a converted PAL60 version by Fabrizio Zavagli and also the "Fixed" version that's supposed to work with Stella but doesn't seem to anymore. All 3 freeze at the start screen. Anyone else get it to work? Never mind, my fault, the left difficulty was set to A.
  5. Yes, for Windows DriveSort works very well, it's what I use.
  6. There seems to be some inconsistency in displaying file names and folder names, for instance: I have a folder named Company, in that folder I have the roms separated into company folders such as: 20th Century Fox Absolute Entertainment American Videogames etc... But the display on the television is like this: [20th Century Fo..] [Absolute Entertainmen..] [American Videogame..] It seems as though any filename from 13 to 21 characters long will have the last letter truncated. BTW: I'm using the latest BIOS v1.02
  7. I'm using WindowsXP sp3, I also had a problem with Harmony.exe crashing, but I rebooted Windows and everything is fine now. Maybe you should add that Windows needs to be restarted after the drivers are installed.
  8. Just got mine today (#21) thanks batari and Al, this is the cooolest!!
  9. I use WinViceit seems to do the job. The cable that you referred to is a X1541 cable and you can build one yourself.
  10. Sounds like you have the "Sticky-Keys" feature turned on in Windows.
  11. Hmm, you're right that Bumper Bash uses two paddles in the left port, and each button controls a flipper in the game. I can change it, but then you'd need to press Space and 5 for each flipper. Currently, Stella handles this the same as z26, where it uses a joystick instead, and the left and right flippers are controlled by the left and right joystick directions. The action is exactly the same, but the buttons are more straightforward (cursor keys instead of Space and 5). Also, this is only for the NTSC version. The PAL version seems to use a joystick. Hmmm, you're right, the pal version does use the joystick, it uses left and right to adjust the plunger then up to the launch the ball, where the ntsc version can use the joystick but it requires both left and right (aka both paddle buttons) at the same time to launch the ball, kinda hard to do with a joystick.
  12. Your right, I didn't have my VCS hooked up so I was comparing 2.8.4 to the alpha version. No problem. I forgot to add Bumper Bash to those profiles. Bumper_Bash.zip
  13. Here are profiles to add to stella, these are for hacks of Kaboom! and Breakout that should have a paddle controller in the left port, but they default to joystick. Stella.zip
  14. Here's a glitch in Pole Position (circled in red). This one doesn't appear in 2.8.4 and older. Oh, and congratulations on your new nephew/niece.
  15. Bumper Bash also has a glitch. Part of the right flipper is shown to the right of the right flipper. It is better than it was in earlier versions where the right bumper above the right flipper was wrong.
  16. According to Denial (which is everything Vic20) the best emulator for the Vic20 is Vice.
  17. A new mapping was added to 'Go Up' to a previous directory in the alpha build. When mappings change between versions, the settings become incompatible, and defaults are used. Normally one wouldn't notice, since you'd upgrade to a new version and never use the old one again. Obviously this isn't the case here, since you're switching back and forth. Such is the result of being on the bleeding edge, I guess I should add that save state files won't be compatible from 2.8.4 either. The state format will definitely change for 3.0, and it may also change multiple times before then too. This is a result of revamping the TIA code. Ok, as long as it was intentional, I can live with that. I found a workaround though, I added a basedir.txt file in the folder with the alpha version and set the config folder to ~\Application Data\Stella-alpha.
  18. I've been jumping back and forth between 2.8.4 and 3alpha to compare games from one version to the other and I've noticed something a bit odd. My gamepad has buttons for Select & Start, so if I map those button to select & reset in Stella(either version) and then exit and start the other version, the key-mappings will have been reset to the defaults. As long as I continue to use the same version, the key-mappings stay where I left them. My os is WinXP SP3.
  19. Maybe a little late in the game, but would it be possible to add a few buttons to the actual cart for navigating the menus?
  20. That was very short vacation. Count me in too, Ill do whatever I can to help.
  21. Thanks, and good luck on that vacation!
  22. Try a Sega Genesis gamepad, it will work fine on the 2600. Gamepads are fine for most games but try to get low time on Dragster, I don't think it's possible with a gamepad.
