stephen please stop. just stop alright? i'm tired of it
-
why is that when you make this thread, you get a actual comparison but when i do, the userbase is somewhat hostile?
-
so this is how it is? i understand. and news flash, it's sunday, i waited a day and all i wanted was a comparison because i was genuinely interested. i might just delete my account. clearly i've wasted my time on this site
-
....you know what, fuck it. i just wanted to do a simple comparison thread, but screw it.
-
yes really
problem?
-
(if you're going to complain, i will have to close the thread).
this is always something that has fascinated me. nintendo's juggernaut of the 80's vs atari's entry.
i would like a comparison of:
sound: POKEY chip vs the NES sound chip
Lockout: does it affect games or the system (includes modified systems)
graphics: did the 7800 have any visual tricks that gave it the upper hand
commercials/marketing: how well was it marketed, were the commercials well done, corny or just plain bad
and finally: ports. how well did the system handle arcade ports (in house development doesn't count third parties only)
-
beat all 3 on genesis

okay, how about this: the Master system vs the Atari 7800
-
the super Nintendo is slower than the genesis in retrospect, so I want to propose a test. port Comix Zone to the snes and compare the time it takes to load a stage
compare music and sounds etc.
-
no one's going to answer? come on, its been 3 weeks
-
point taken. i'll post to the proper area

okay, I quit. i'm just going to stick to graphics hacking. maybe something simple like river raid
-
i'm asking to convert because I'm using doom builder for the job. I understand its a weird thing for me to do but cut me some slack, at least i'm not trying to fix up daikatana or port Deus ex. either help or don't.
-
thank you. much appreciated
-
if you guys are going to argue, i may as well delete the post.
-
kay, now that i'm thoroughly cooled (my apologies, heat has been doing terrible things to my mood) can we get back to the post?
-
i will. see you guys later
-
2 more chances to back off. i'm warning you Stephen, cross me and you will unleash hell
-
stephen, i would caution you to back off. 1st warning

and i understand the use of HTML as a language. its honestly the only language i've been able to grasp. c++ is a bit arcane for me and there are no interpreters for Java. tried Perl but it didn't work out for me so HTML seemed a good starting point.
-
got it. i guess i went too far. i just don't like people like stephen making judgement calls like that. pisses me off
-
...I question my presence on these forums. I sincerely do. is it any good I wonder? maybe not. oh well
-
stephen, what is your problem with me exactly? and no i'm not 8 years old. i'm a 23 year old writer with some programming experience, namely HTML. i can whoop
your ass in halo, outrun you in madden or school you in Tetris plus I at view the ZX Spectrum as an undervalued computer with a great user base.. I have been gaming since I was in the womb. so some damned respect. it seems to be lacking in the world. I know the ins and outs of the Atari 2600:
. 6502 processor
. 4 colors onscreen at one time, more if bank switched
. no RAM for colors.
I would explain more but I don't want to bore you.
Commodore 64: 64K RAM, written entirely in rom, damn near impossible to corrupt. SID chips is superior to POKEY on Atari 800. compared to the spectrum, it
has more colors available, great music, BAISC V2.00 which while barebones, can be manipulated. the C64 is also the best out of all the 8 bits, minus the Atari 800.
so yeah, I may be a troll to you, but at least this "troll" has a better brain, a better outlook on life and more experience gaming then you will ever have.
for years, i have been trying to identify with people that are at least on my educational level. if this is what passes for community ten i'm in the wrong place. i'm
simply asking for help. if that's a crime, ban me. but Stephen, know this: you and me, we have no more in common then an ant and a human. so take your words
and shove them where the sun don't shine, cause I won't me so merciful next time. consider this a warning
now, shall we continue this pointless argument?

I honestly wonder Stephen, is it ignorance or out of malice, that you choose to berate me? over a simple frustration. go to hell. i'll find others more deserving of being spoken to. so take your own advice and piss off.
