2009 Heartland Pinball & Arcade Show - Herrin, IL 9/18-19
Crimefighter replied to Crimefighter's topic in Events
I decided it was best not to start a new thread to announce a show not happening ... There will not be a Heartland Pinball & Arcade Show this year for 2010. The organizers are taking a much needed year off. -
I'm afraid of flying. It has gotten worse each time I've flown. I'm not aware of the New Jersey event... If it turns out to be a crappy event...I'll find something else to do while I'm out there.
-
Uhhhh...they do have a list of events... http://ivghof.com/schedule The price reductions expire today BTW... I wouldn't had been going to CGE since I'd have to fly to Vegas.
-
However, it is the home of Twin Galaxies and Walter Day. I'm going to go - I don't think I'll regret doing it and even if attendance isn't high that just gives me more playtime.

We all are just gonna have to wait. Anyone hear from Howard Warsaw yet about this? Two more videos on the game just showed up -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UygsjtFtf2k http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUSEMROLcVk

Definitely a joystick game. The sparks don't even hang on the rings at all...they come at you constantly! I could find a sweet spot and rapid fire at the enemy base and the sparks continuously respawn as fast as I shoot them and make no progress. The hard-chip arcade version of Star Castle is like that.

Gee, why didn't I hear about this earlier??? The Big Bang is Ottumwa's Annual Video Game Festival, co-created by the Citizens of Ottumwa and the International Video Game Hall of Fame. The title, "The Big Bang," is derived from the fact that "it all started in Ottumwa." In the same way that the Universe began with a “Big Bang,” organized video game playing started with a similar explosion in Ottumwa, Iowa nearly thirty years ago. As the birthplace of organized, competitive video game playing, the City of Ottumwa would like to invite you to come and celebrate Ottumwa’s unique video game legacy with a major video game festival. The Big Bang 2010: Ottumwa’s Video Game Festival is a four-day event held concurrently with the Grand Induction Ceremonies for the International Video Game Hall of Fame & Museum (IVGHOF&M). Scheduled for August 5-8, 2010, the festival will feature contests, concerts, dealer showrooms, panel discussions, guest celebrities, costume contests, historic museum displays and movies. Plus, lots of further activities to be announced by the IVGHOF. http://ivghof.com/the-big-bang

He has not made an actual cartridge of the game yet - as you can see the game is running off a Harmony flash cart - the game itself is only 8K.

Well I don't think the guesses are getting any more realistic...so I'm going to spill the beans now... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5dJjVIsxLk

Not Robotron - someone DID try that with that so-called computer keyboard add-on and it was the most "flickery thing they've ever seen" so it's not that one. Not Tempest either, ummm...how many different Tron games have been put out for the 2600 already?
-
It is a port of an arcade game. No it's not a game that was to be announced at CGE...

That's right, a brand new Atari 2600 game was shown yesterday in Lombard, IL at the Video Game Summit. Only a select few people knew about this game being developed, and the finished product was set up to play yesterday. Footage of this new game will be posted later today on Youtube but I'll let you all speculate what it is, but here's a hint - they said this game could NEVER been ported to an Atari 2600. (Those who were at the Video Game Summit - SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Let's see if they can figure it out!)

Isn't there like a kit somewhere to run video output into a regular flat screen monitor? -
*I* will be there. The Star Worlds afterparty sealed the deal!

You ought to start an NES Protos website modeled after Tempest's site...

Pac-Man's Ghosts get major makeover

Please note that other franchises has series after series over a 30-year period. Regardless, I'd check this out. -
Pac-Man's Ghosts get major makeover
Crimefighter replied to Crimefighter's topic in Nintendo Wii / Wii U
Not pictured in the video, but is pictured in the new Nintendo Power issue - Clyde looks like a fat overweight blob...Pinky has been made more feminine. And this is how they're gonna look in the new Pac-Man TV series. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-2010-pac-man/700876 -
I am still going with my subscription ever since it started.

I've seen that using graphics characters instead of text characters also speeds things up. -

How much do you have yet to add that you've been sitting on again?
