  1. The "original artwork" on a Pac-Man machine was THIS: Not at all what is on this ornament. Still I'm going to get one if I see one.
  2. The thrift stores around here pretty much suck on video games...hardly any finds when I go looking. The only time I got a find was a the golden tee portable.
  3. Giant bonfire? I'd auction them...I don't have a 5200, yet I have two 5200 cartridges somehow.
  4. GROWL...if you are one of those people who's feelings got hurt, I got news for you. IF YOU CAN'T PUT UP WITH A GAME SAYING YOU'RE OVERWEIGHT DON'T SHOW UP ON THE SCHOOL PLAYGROUND CAUSE EVERY KID WILL CALL YOU A BUNCH OF NAMES ANYWAY!!!!!!! Geez, if I had to put up with that crap everyone else should to! Nobody gave a rats rump about my feelings!
  5. Little advice...they HATE bad publicity, and get very responsive when it's out in public that they're being jackoffs that they fall all over themselves to tell people they're not jackoffs and change their attitudes in a hurry... SEND A LETTER TO THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER AND NAME NAMES of people that are being jackoffs and doing BAD BUSINESS. Other people will read, and they'll start asking questions...and they'll get very uncomfortable. I've resorted to this a few times and got rsults.
  6. I dunno if last year was better than this year, but having different stuff this year kept things fresh so maybe people were missing certain vendors and didn't like who came in their place. It seemed like there were more pinball and arcade games to play this year than last. *I* certainly bought more stuff this time than last, though I spend it Sunday afternoon on a hard look for bargains when dealers were cutting prices so they didn't have to take it home. Who knows they may have to expand into a third ballroom next year.
  7. Right before I arrived in Wisconsin for the 2008 Midwest Gaming Classic, I had a card for free tokens at this arcade in De Kalb, IL home of Northern Illinois University. I arrived about an hour before it was supposed to open, which I didn't know its hours...but the owner happened to be walking out the door and because I was the second person to come in from the MGC promotion he opened early for me and so I pulled out the camcorder to showcase this facility and do an interview with Patrick O'Malley. Enjoy! http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7104831406406386446
  8. Personally since Gamecube games play on the Wii I had hoped there'd be more games around for a lot longer but was not to be. But finding used games is difficult for the Cube.
  9. I played it a lot...only got to the 7th board.

  11. It was a Dig Dug actually. I think they made these for the younger or vertically challenged folks.
  12. Yeah and I had two of the hi scores on it. That and Donkey Kong II - Jumpman Returns saw the most play time from me. Okay, here's a photo dump...took all these early Sunday morning when the crowd was just coming in. http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a281/rap-sheet/MGC-2008/
  13. http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=733696 Article on the story, yours truly was interviewed.
  14. Well ladies and gentlemen they had no trouble filling up the venue with exhibitors and games to play. Even with some vendors that were there last year but not this year, they manged to fill in the void to me. I think perhaps they might need MORE exhibit space next year.
  15. That pretty much has been superceded by the fourth edition pac-man joystick which combines the 1st and 3rd edition games together.
  16. Add - Star Fox Adventure, Crazy Taxi, Soul Calibur 2
  17. Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 on the Genesis has a crash screen - Stage skip: Start a single player game. Press Start on the controller two after the first round ends to advance to the next opponent. Glitch: Stage skip: The stage skip trick can be used during the Shao Kahn match. Your square will move past the top of the match pole and you then fight endless battles against mainly Kano, Sonya, or someone else on occasion. The stage skip can continue to be used to make this go faster but eventually if you reach any E box, the game will display an error screen including something like this: Exception $03: Address Error Access Address: 00FF0497 Access Mode: Read, Instr Address Space: Supervisor Program Instruction Reg: 6001
  18. I see no one has figured out how to rig a CD player in place of the tape player.
  19. A second controller would be used...or in the case of this being a 8-bit computer this is being played on...the space bar.
  20. Nice to know that someone else has taken up the cause. Right now, we have no plans to port it to the 8-bit. There are a few reasons, first the control. Tempest is programmed to use an analog control scheme taking advantage of different speeds. A digital control will NOT work well as you won't be able to land on some of the tubes. A trakball is a possibility, but right now we have not explored it. Second, the game will be 32k which will require bank-switching on the 8-bit. There are a lot of things planned for the game so we will need all the space. So as of now we have no plans for an 8-bit version, so it will be a 5200 exclusive. Have you thought of using the 2600 Driving Controller? I think there's some folks that would like to play something other than Indy 500 with the gadgets.
  21. The lines glitch...I've wondered what was up with that when a machine that had that glitch you couldn't shoot through it and sometimes the invaders just went and landed on the bottom of the screen much quicker.
  22. I went to K-Mart...they haven't cut prices on Zelda TP, still $50. I'd sure like to know where these price cuts are really occuring.
