Only two and a half weeks away! Who's coming? If you are wondering what to expect this year, here's how it looked last time -- http://s13.photobucket.com/albums/a281/rap...t/pinball-2006/ -
DKJ on the Atari 8-bit is far superior to the CV version, for one it has all four screens, two it has a full ending animation.

Gee whiz, if we buy a product...who is the government to tell us we can't make changes to it for our own private use? Just think what would had happened had this applied to IBM PCs! -
Another thread resurrected from years ago...

Yeah this is smelling like a hoax as long as this has been dragging on...

A preliminary list of games has been posted....so far 33 solid state pinballs, 22 EM Pinballs, but only five video arcade machines so far. They need some arcade games! http://supershow.popbumper.com/ -
Well the Midwest Gaming Classic had a number of rare titles for sale, some over $100 loose.

Who won the Wii or Kangaroo arcade machine at the MGC?
Crimefighter replied to jboypacman's topic in Events
What about the best of show balloting? They wanted us to vote on the thing so bad, but no result has been put out. -
You can hotswap cartridges ? I didn't think you could do that without messing up the computer.

Which vendor was not allowed back and why? I know the MAME cabs weren't there claiming...oh we gotta make sure they're LEGAL yadda yadda yadda. Sheesh, there was one of those multi-game cabs in the arcade downstairs...unfortunately there was a problem with the display malfunctioning.

http://supershow.popbumper.com/index.html It's back in Herrin, IL at the Civic Center again this year. Last year's event was made of up 85% pinballs, 15% video games.
-
Had hopes I'd win a few tournies...only got the Super Mario one, and won a whopping...$12. Next year the MGC will be during the LAST WEEKEND OF MARCH. Yes, you only have to wait nine months until the next one! Bloomington, IL will have its own pinball/arcade show during the LAST WEEKEND OF OCTOBER. YAY!
-
Seems there's more vendors but significantly fewer arcade and pinball machines. Tournaments got its own area, and there's more of them. Home gaming area seems big. See how much gaming I can get in tomorrow.

Is there a 2600 game that NO ONE will claim to like?
Crimefighter replied to godzillajoe's topic in Atari 2600
It was an educational tool more than anything, plus you have to recall....this was released in an age where Windows didn't exist and high end IBM PCs were running an Intel 8088 processor with very large 5 1/4" floppy drives. -
Since someone's doing Mega Man on the 2600...I'm wondering when someone will do Super Mario Bros. on it next... The prior 1k contest winner featuring a bouncing ball on random length platforms where scoring is based on how far you get along (don't remember the game, it was three on a cart) would be a starting point where the ball would be changed to Mario and not bounce. Enemies could be added later...well use your imagination.
