I had one of these also do this - ended up reselling it recently on eBay as parts and specifically explained it did just this, along with video doing this. Would wonder if this is that same drive? Milli

It is normal for the drive light to remain on until the adam is turned on - it actually is running - so it is best not to leave it on when the Adam is off. As for the head not moving it could be many different reasons. with everything off and power remove, remove the case and then try moving the head gently back and forth along the rail to make sure it is not stuck. If you can move it make sure the rails are nice and clean. If you can't it could be that the head is stuck on the rails or the stepper motor is bad or the control board is bad. I'm not an expert on these - I just have a good grasp on how they work - there are experts on here that may chime in with better advice than me Milli

Any language available under CP/M is fine - if its interpreted you need to supply a copy of the language - if its compiled you dont - either way you need to supply the source code - want this to be a learning experience too

Ok - so technically EOS is still there and I can toggle the rom back in right? Is it going to toggle in the upper or lower bank? I know it ends up in the upper bank of ram but is it being copied to the ram from a Lower bank of rom?

Is it possible to access EOS routines within CP/M? Can I toggle the rom back in to access them and then toggle the ram back when done? Or - do I have to rewrite EOS routines? I am mostly looking ot use the video routines - custom fonts - colors etc and will let CP/M handle the rest. Additionally - was there every a source code released for the Adam version of CP/M? Milli

Here is an update - I put in the chip that was missing - printer works - Well sort of - has a bad -5v line that I have to chase down - but the printer works now - Have to try replacing the chips in the other bad ones next. Milli

Wind left side first - you can use a screwdriver and gently pry the Pully off the motor

Opposite - look like 2 clockwise for left side and 2 counterclockwise for right

Not to be totally ignorant but how am I to use that in the Adam? Is there a disk image? Milli

Spring is probably rusted ( just restored 10 today ) - after disassembling if you have to Remove the spring to clean it you need to remove the silver disk on the knob to get to the screw - use a hair dryer to loosen the disk and lift it off with a knife to get to the screw.

Title speaks for itself - is there any software floating around that lets me test a super controller on my adam? Doing a simple reading of the pdl in smart basic isn't really very good as these seem to give different values than a controller. Milli
