This is the 4th Ex 3 I have had come through and this is the first time I have ever seen it go straight to CV mode when turned on and no amount of reset will bring up smart writer or tape - where do I start looking for problems? Milli

I am stumped. I have a drive I am refurbing - It was very dirty inside and out - I have stripped it down almost completely and cleaned all connectors and parts, cleaned the drive head many times and yet when I do a directory on a known good disk in CPM the head seeks to the right track and then just goes back and forth- eventually giving me a missing block error (also happens when I format a disk or copy to a disk). I tried aligning the head and it made no difference. I have swapped the mech to a known good drive and the issue followed it so it is not the adam controller board (though could be the read write head controller board, I didn't swap that- yet). Anyone have any clues? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxtHJWot1xc&feature=youtu.be

Is it just me or are the black colecovision controllers made better than the cream adam ones? They seem to be heavier and the joystick seems to have a better feel.

Going through Adams, restoring them for resale and I cam across this one. I have 9 adams here and have sold another 10 or so this year and it is the first one I have seen with a brown case bottom instead of cream. Why is this?

How can I go about putting a DDP image back on to a DDP? It is 256k so wont fit on a disk. Iam assuming that on the pc you split it into 2 images and then on the adam you have a program that reads one image then the other but not sure - am sure there is some way since they got off the adam Bill
