You can remove the labels with a hair dryer and patience - On FaceBook I have some pix on how this is done: https://www.facebook.com/groups/115531017844/ -

Try: 1. look at keyboard plug and computer plug, make sure none of the wires are crossed or bent out of place 2. plug keyboard in left side to adam net - eliminate the possibility of bad front connector. -

Here is the keyboard information http://smartbasic.net/2015/11/24/replacement-adam-keyboard-cable/ -
Using an original copy of CP/M I formated a disk and then did a SYSGEN to write the system on this disk. I did the same with the DDP that I got from that coleco executive that says has revision 1.7 hand written on it. I then made a disk image of both and comparing them byte byte there is a difference between the release version (left) and this other version (right) . This is the boot track. Deeper in are even more changes

This is the hardware prototype for the Adam Virtual Device, AViD. After completing the proof of concept by communicating with an Adam Keyboard via this software adjustable baud rate USB-RS232 adapter and custom circuits that handle the conversion from 2 wire to single wire communication I have created the prototype of AViD and now move on to the next stage, talking to a real Adam. Once this is complete then I will write the software to allow a PC to be used as a virtual disk drive on a stock, unmodified Adam. AViD is shown with a keyboard cable plugged in but will use either a keyboard cable or an Adam Net cable.

I was going through some disks I got with an Adam and one was labeled AdamCon IV pictures - I opened them in PowerPaint - Not sure if they were taken with the Adam or they are from something else. Recognize anyone?

On FaceBook one person said this: "If it is ROM then I would strongly suspect a capacitor, and it fits the look of a power plane capacitor."
