  1. Came close to buying a turbografx 16 for $150 (cdn). Sadly someone else got to it first while I waited for payday.

They're really that expensive now? I remember Toys R Us flushing them out of stock for fifty bucks.

Is a TG-16 more desirable than any PC Engine? I bought two basic white models last year and didn't spend more than $35-40 US each + shipping from Japan.

Or was that a TG-16 bundle with games, multitap, kit and caboodle?

I Totally recommend a Turbografx or PC Engine...With an adapter you can play games for either (and of course there's an Everdrive available) and Turbo CD or PC Engine Duo-Rs etc., are region free for CD games...Just save up and wait for a deal :)

  2. Snagged a NES Mini on friday while away for the Animaritime convention. :D Walmart had them hidden behind the cash. "We have one left!"

That's one way! Damn!...Maybe try a little melatonin or a sleeping pill sometime.

Went 36 hrs without sleep travel to my holiday destination. Then I slept through a punch up between my room mates!

  4. Opinions on the fair asking price for an Atari 7800 these days? (Not selling, but considering buying a spare. :))

If just the console alone, probably $60-$70.

      deepthaw

Local comic/classic game shop sells their 7800 with controller and no games for $69.

Thanks. Sounds like what I saw recently in town is about in the low to middle of the general range then. If it's still there next month i'll probably pick it up. :)

  5. That Street Fighters Miniatures game on kickstarter closes around midnight tonight. Lots of stuff unlocked in the stretch goals as well! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1821440755/street-fighter-the-miniatures-game

  6. Now the fun task of changing emails on online services like atari age because lycos decided to axe all their free email accounts. Fun times. (Atari Age account already updated!)

Lycos? That is a provider I haven't heard about in the past 15 years. Good luck changing your login details everywhere you need to.

I didn't know Lycos was doing that. i guess Angelfire & Tripod are next. ;(

I've got til the end of the month to decide myself (When tax refunds should materialize.) The kickstarter ends may 5th so should be plenty of time to learn how kickstarter even works. XD

I -was- going to go full in, but right now thinking I'll d othe middle-pledge and only get the SF Alpha character addons.

I can already see some people getting two sets of the game to resell the miniatures from their second set on ebay/amazon. XD

I'd just wait until it's a real product at retail and pay for it then. Plus, Kickstarted games of this nature don't have a very good track record.

    4. Mord

      Mord

You may be out of luck then, as I'm pretty sure this will be kickstarter-only. Due to the costs involved selling it at retail would simply cost too much due to all the extra middlemen expecting a hefty cut. Jasco's done several boardgames like this in the past though so they know what needs to be done at this point.

Everything. Organizing things around so I can stay on top of it all and actually get some work done on all the little and big things I've been trying to get done for years now.

  11. Looks like the gamegear I had in storage is busted. Powers on, but doesn't read any carts. :/

      A good cleaning

  20. Just getting back from Animaritime. :D

  21. Finished some tweaks to graze, probably going to work on the Turret System before releasing an update though. (AI is harder than I want it to be.)

  23. Long weekend coming up! Planning on spending Quality Time converting GSA to 128k.

      MobiusAqua

It can be a bit of a challenge, but it's not too hard, once you figure out where everything goes. I've almost got the hang of it.

    2. Mord

      Mord

Yeah, it's just that the action loop is more than 16k by itself. So I have to break that among several banks. :)

At least going to 256k, if needed, will be a snap from 128.

    3. MobiusAqua

      MobiusAqua

Ah, good points. I figure, at some point, I might have to do either one of those for BB. I didn't think it'd be such a chore to keep the game running at something close to 60 FPS. XD

  24. Got the 7800 hooked up next to the NES again. Took longer to do than anticipated though. x_x

To hook it up to the TV I had I needed to dig up adapter thing to plug into the TV. Had no idea where it disappeared to so had to turn the place upside down looking for it.
