  1. There's seriously a petition with 11,000 signatures to take down RottenTomatoes.com because people don't like the reviews of Suicide Squad?

Well, you can take solace in knowing that even if the movie stinkers will keep going on, the summer will end soon enough.... wait, that's the wrong thing to want to end. :/

  2. I've heard the term "Darwin Award" bandied about in reference to Pokemon Go. I don't think that goes far enough. Pokemon Go is the Darwin Olympics.

Indeed, I don't think anyone's died yet with the game. People have been mugged/robbed, FOUND dead bodies, and fallen off cliffs, but I don't think anyone's actually died.

Yet. I agree. Stupid game. Stupider people though.

  4. Sometimes you need a PS1 and a PS2 because it doesn't feel right playing PS1 games with a PS2.

I noticed the Symphony of the Night drops being different since I use to mine a few specific mobs for rare gear on PS1. And they were dropping... crap on PS2. Then I got the strongest weapon in the game on PS2 from a relatively weak mob in the upside down library. :D Fun times.

At times it's more than just "doesn't feel right" playing the PS1 games on the PS2. There are some games that aren't 100% accurate.

Case in point: Megaman X4 will crash if you use the weakness of some of the bosses. (One in particular that I know of) and in Symphony of the Night, the item drops from enemies are... different. :)

  6. That was a bold move, Walking Dead! Killing the entire main cast instead of just one of them? Wow! Next season sure will be hard to watch without all of those familiar characters.

  7. Had a messed up dream where Jupiter was orbiting the Earth and all sorts of lightning bolts were going between it and the moon. Ughh.. And on the ground, in the swamp, the moon kept flying back and forth.

  8. To hell with turning 40 today -- I'm 25 and holding!

  11. Got the 7800 hooked up next to the NES again. Took longer to do than anticipated though. x_x

  12. Maybe I'm just out of touch, but I'm not getting the massive appeal of Minecraft. Whenever I see my nephews and their friends play it, all they do is make buildings and other shapes out of the blocks. If you take the "Video Graffiti" mode of 2600 Surround, make it 3D, change the background into a green field, and add different-colored blocks, you've pretty much got Minecraft, as far as I can tell.

Regarding playing your creations, that's entirely possible with minecraft as well. Build map in Creative mode. Switch to "Adventure" mode which seriously limits your ability to place/break blocks. Command blocks can customize things somewhat (As can mods). command blocks are going to get a lot more useful once 1.9 finally launches it seems.

As for Minecraft as a game, Survival mode does actually have a "goal" - to defeat the ender dragon. How you get to it is en...

Not every game is for every person, and being able to see the appeal of a game isn't always clear unless you like the same things. For instance, I don't really get the massive appeal for FPS games, multiplayer or not.

  16. Doesn't look like VR is going to last long enough to even become a fad. £599 for Oculus???? WTF?

  17. Smart people know that holograms, fractals, and Russian nesting dolls explain everything.

  20. So ... do you guys think I would lose people supporting my museum if a made it more of a general museum instead of specialized to only gaming related?

Would depend on a few factors I guess. Mainly if it will be easy for your current visitors that are mainly interested in the gaming stuff to find the gaming stuff still. If they have to wade through all sorts of extra stuff, they'll probably go elsewhere.

all joking aside, I'd presume this machine would need to be given your credit card number and mailing address before it can do any magic. It'd never get either out of me all the same, let alone internet access.

  22. I finally just beat NES "Batman"!!! It's not even that hard of a game except for the Joker. even with the strategy of getting beside him and punching fast, you have to luck out. It took me a bunch of tries.

  24. The Steamboy might just be my favorite handheld. Friend has an early unit and GTA V, Skyrim, Fallout Rage, Metro Last Light etc on the go is incredible. Now I can finally play Resident Evil 4, Kingdom Hearts, Super Mario Sunshine,Need for speed Carbon and Okami on the go plus it will only be $300

Most if not all of my steam collection can run easily enough on my 2008 machines, so I'm not too concerned. I don't usually buy the latest AAA titles anyway. :)

If it can run what I currently have without difficulty I'd already be quite content. Just can't afford one until 2017 at the earliest. ;)

While it's out of my budget range right now, I'd have to admit as a future purchase I may end up getting one - assuming they're still around in some form in a couple of years. :)
