  1. cool story, i have a 2 yr old daughter and just the other day we were at the store (she was sitting in the seat in the shopping cart) and we played a game on the gamecube demo station. well, more like i controlled character movement and she played with the pretty buttons. cant wait to play games at home with her like my dad played with me about 25 years ago. breakout was my dads favorite, i wonder what my daughters wll be.

  2. wow...i cant wait til this cart is available! this is why it is so great that talented people are still cranking out 2600 titles. its going to be a masterpiece.....addictive game play, solid graphics and an interesting concept. one suggestion for the final version, because the tension builds as the game gets harder, perhaps some "mission impossible" type of background music would be cool. again, great job. 8)

  3. great topic...perhaps fodder for the xypes and such to consider for future development(if no licencing probs)

    my wish list

    1. kickman.......somebody was working on this one, but the project appears dead

    4. super zaxxon...may be a 2600 graphics toughy

  4. in the spirit of halloween, i have chosen my spookiest 2600 character...Frankenstiens Monster, edging out the scorpion(pitfall) and the alien (from alien).

anybody got any other creepy characters to add?

  5. I was just playing defender the other day and remembered that when I was a kid I figured out that if you fire rapidly, enemy fire will sometimes go right through your flashing starship. this got me thinking, there are several of these little quirks that add to the charm of the 2600 and its games.

My all time favorite is in M-network football. If your opponent breaks free and is running for a touchdown, you can simply run through the left side of the screen, come out on the right, and nail the guy head on. We used to call this play "superman", cause if this happened in real football, your guy would have to run around the world to make this happen.

Anybody have any fond memories of quirks like this in other games?

  6. hey...can anyone tell me what happened to the 2600 kickman game that was on the in development page? i cant remember who was working on that one..has it been scrapped?.....i hope not as it was a favorite of mine on the c-64 and it would be a great 2600 cart.

  7. Thanks Max! ill probably just pick up a cheap one (as i am a cheap person). I'd try the stelladaptor if i thought my old 2600 jr stick would live longer than a day.

Ive had my ps1 dual shock controller for over 6 years and never had a problem with it either.

    Again thanks for the input!

  11. Since part of the charm of the 2600 is the simplicity of the games, this is a cool topic. Heres my 2 cents.

    1. Space Shuttle

    2. sq earthworld (i never played the other 2)

    3. 3d tic tac toe (am i a moron?.....dont answer that)

  12. Ive recently begun my quest for patches on the GBA "Activision Anthology" which has an awsome feature that gives you a patch (or at least a picture of one). The funny thing about these is that some are very simple to achieve...while others are darn near impossible.

    EASY...Pitfall, Ice hockey :D

    HARD...Kaboom, Crackpots :x

  13. Heres a fun one (forgive me if somebody did this already...im new here)

What is the longest time you've spent playing a game..and the shortest.

    Heres mine

    Longest...Video Pinball...approx 10 hours (with bathroom breaks)

Shortest..Dragster...6.64 seconds (this might be everybody's)

Also thanks to those who pointed me in the right direction to find the power cord for my 2600jr. :D

  14. I recently found my old 2600 jr in my brothers basement as i was helping him move. It was in 2 pieces (he had unscrewed it for god knows what reason). But all the insides were intact. The only thing missing is the power cord. Is there somthing that will work in its place, or should i search e bay for an original (but i dont know who would sell just the cord).

    p.s. my brother sucks.
