  1. I also am into classic as well as modern gaming. I have a Gamecube and in an evening I might play Resident Evil 4 for an hour, and then pop in Midway Arcade Classics for a while. For me it depends on what im in the mood for.

I too have had every generation of system, and if i had to choose 1 to keep forever it would be the 2600. I cant really explain why, other than it is what it is...just plug it in, grab a cartradge and go. There are no x, y, z, a, b, c, l1, r1,l2, r2 buttons...just a big orange one. If ps3 and 360 and revoulution were food, they'ed be steak and lobster and caviar. The 2600 is a burger, fries and a shake. All good stuff, but different.

Tonight I am cleaning my old 2600 controllers to get them ready to use with Flashback 2.0. Then if I have time, maybe a little MVP Baseball. :D

  2. while i understand why breakout and circus atari will not be part of the fb2 collection, i guess i just want to know why it was decided that the original games could not be altered just to allow for joystick control. i keep hearing "real mccoy" and "original versions" and to me the important part of those statements is that the look and feel of the game is true to the original.

if pong was written to accomodate joystick as well as paddle, why cant breakout be "edited" to do just the same? would that really destroy the integrity of the original?

on a lighter note, what does anybody know about Wizard? i know its a proto, but whats this one about?

  3. WOW! video pinball....thx for that little leak....i am having fun speculating on the games that might make the cut. my wish list includes video pinball, along with phoenix, galaxian, and defender. i figure pac man is a longshot and space invaders is probably a no can do because of licencing issues...oh well

this 2.0 seems to adress all my complaints about the first one when it came out.

    1. not enough games

    2. most are 2600 games, why did the unit and controllers look like 7800

    3. 1/2 size controllers...why? my hands havent been shrinking since i was 12.

    4. price a little high

all of these seem to be taken care of. awsome job! i will be first in line for this thing! :lust:

  4. ok wait a minute...you guys are ripping pac man and defender as i remember doing as a kid, but the thing i hated at the time was that they didnt look like the arcade versions. here are some games that suck faaaaaaarrrr worse.

sea monster- this game not only utilizes only about 1/3 of the tv screen, but try..just try to identift any of the characters on the screen. add some of the choppiest gameplay ever and there you are.

pac kong- i dont even know what its supposed to be. :?

laser blast - this is actually a pretty cool game...if you like doing the same thing over and over and over and.... :x

karate - not quite mortal combat :x

  5. hey all, my 2600 jr just died last week and seems beyond repair. Also only about 10 out of my over 40 carts still work, so i have made the decision not to get a new one. (i may post a list of my working carts here soon if anyone is interested....i have nothing real rare)

I play the emu games on my computer, but i was wondering who recommends the flashback console, or does anyone know what titles may be included in flashback II. I was at a friends house last week and played atari anthology on ps2...that is really well put together and has lots of titles, but alas, i have gamecube and there is no such product for it. :x

  6. cool story, i have a 2 yr old daughter and just the other day we were at the store (she was sitting in the seat in the shopping cart) and we played a game on the gamecube demo station. well, more like i controlled character movement and she played with the pretty buttons. cant wait to play games at home with her like my dad played with me about 25 years ago. breakout was my dads favorite, i wonder what my daughters wll be.
