  1. So, at every connection I may have different IP address, or someone else may have IP what I used yesterday...

While this is true, in my experience it's extremely unlikely that two individuals will share the same dynamic IP and use that IP to post on one of thousands of forums in such a short time frame.

All this just shows how Western people has prejudices toward Eastern. 2 Atari users from same town in Hungary ?

No, it is not possible... This forum just sucks, because admin and 'moderators' are lazy and incompetent.

Prejudiced towards Eastern European Atari users? That's ridiculous. Prejudiced against people who create multiple accounts on a forum and use them to stir up trouble, most certainly. If you think this forum sucks, why are you posting here?

    ..Al

The 'east vs west' and 'moderators and admins suck' speach are just the usual tricks that Pperror troll comes up with when things don't go his way. He has done it several times on Atari-forum.

  2. I just visited D-Bug forums... Better will not comment what all saw there, related to my person, WEBsite, SW etc. Let their writings speak for self. Who has little brain will see what is going on...

Back to topic: 'Falconizing games' ? Is it really worth to play some pitty, vertical scroller, slow, boring etc. game from 1986 on Falcon? What is benefit? It is easy to get some ST, STE for decent price and playing on it. Higher speed of Falcon may be good for some games, especially 3D ones, but... It is still often slow and low framerate, if work at all.

Using expensive Falcon to play regularry ST games seems as bad idea. If nothing else, for price of Falcon can buy some new PC together with monitor and play 3D games with emulated 68000 CPU at clock up to 128MHz (Steem).

It is good if game works on Falcon. But spending lot of time to adapt some game - months, tenths-hunderts of hours is just waste of time. More time spent on adapting than total time what all users together will play the game? Seems as pretty bad investment...

I know, that many will not agree with me, or will say that I write this because myself can not adapt... Well, everything can be learned, practicised, experimented. Life just lasts not forever. I will rather play something in res 1600x1200 and really 'true color' . Or just start MAME :D

Interresting paradox, considering you release, on a regular basis, games that you patched in order to be Falcon-compatible.

  3. Again some claims from D-Buggers, without grounds. Just because some people has not English as native language...

Registering at D-Big 3 times? I 'registered' once, and they even did not check my E-mail.

But what to expects from smartheads who claim that:

Floppy imaging program wipes whole partitions without chance to recover datas.

That Mega STE has special floppy spin-down timers :)

That soldering in Atari machine will kill it...

That 'whole 3 patch' is actually 3 patch unrealised (from more than 50 patches), etc....

So, I should not announce things on my site... I should not invent new things because people will need to repartition drives...

    Even new ones...

Yes ! Let all use only Hddriver. Let all use only D-Bug patches. Do not mod anything in Ataris. Do not write any supporting SW, since it will destroy datas. Do not think ! Just DL superb D-Big patches and you will be happy until die !

Of course I'm sure that here is still lot of people with brain and spirit.

    It's D-Bug, not D-Big. :ponder:

    or

"Hey folks, I've patched a whole 3 games! and all you have to do to play them is repartition your system, uninstall your 100% reliable HDDRIVER and put my bodgysoft HD Driver on."

Well, I suppose if you have a SatanDisk you may as well try it, not like you don't have to reformat every other day as it is anyway....

    ROFL. "

I have Satandisk and only problem happened is that sometimes boots not after power-on. Patches from link given work fine with Hddriver. Which is btw. not 100% reliable, just to mention.

If you didn't guess, quoting is from CJ, who obviously has some serious problems. Not only with his mental condition but with some basic knowledge about computers and his position among Atari people.

Of course, there is a number of people who will not care about any facts or beeing honest, just waiting for new 'releases'.

Enjoy in further CJ's spitting (will be more, for sure) . Atari users need his shitting desparately instead of new SW, HW, helping posts, sites :(

    What is your problem? :?

  5. The Falcon's big problem is usally the Shadow Registers for the PSG (Soundchip) causing bus errors, where on all other STs (And even the TT) they will work. There's also the 32-bitness of the CPU registers (compared to 24 bit on the STs) and also the PMMU (memory management) that prevents most games from running low in memory. Another huge problem for the Falcon is the ACIA chip seems to have some problems with older software, the results of which are no keyboard/mouse/joystick input on certain games (again, requires fixing)

To make a game Falcon-compatible, another very useful trick is to clear the bits at memory address $ffff8007.

Bit 0 controls 68030 speed. Very useful on games like Buggy Boy, Rolling Thunder or Ocean Beach Volley.

    Bit 2 controls blitter speed.

Bit 5 sets STE bus emulation on when cleared. It fixes many games (most of the Coktel Vision games for instance).

  6. Atari France held a contest during a video game show in 1991. One of the prices was that pins collection.

I guess they held a few more silimar contest at the time, considering the fact they manufactured at least 250 of those boxes.

They did some advertising back in the days (see below).

  7. What settings are you using in steem? I can't get it to run. the opening text is all scrambled up.

    ST low res, TOS 1.02

The text is formatted for 80 columns (and partly in French), but as noted on the Atariforce web site you must do this to get the game to run. "To launch the game, press space twice, press 1, type ZARMI, and a number between 01 and 999."

Alternatively you can download the original game from http://christophe.bray.free.fr/informatiqu...Space%20Fighter but you will also need the protection codes that are available on the same page. :)

I think that game was released as an abandonware by its authors a couple of years ago. To be confirmed.

  8. Aranym will be nice for serious stuff once it will be reasonably configurable.

Atm it's seeing through config files changing them manually...

I need a beginners guide to set Aranym. All i get is a DOS looking box that flashs on screen

    for a sec. any idea's?

    -rick

Check the Aranym Pack 3D page, this is the easiest solution if you want to give Aranym a try :)

  9. Making pirate copies of other developpers work? Nah, only JagCF developpers and supporters would do that.

    http://jaysmith2000.ipbhost.com/index.php?...st&p=178174

How am I a hypocrite for trying to stop someone from copying a game I had to pull off the market?

I think I did the right thing. I made my mistake and corrected it. My mistake was an honest one for

anyone objective...but Fredrik/Deranged/Jag4House or whoeevryou really are, you are the hypocrite

becasue you actually condone such bullshit. You trully are a coward hiding behind aliases. This very

piracy issue has already put Gorf on the cancelled list for good. There is no way am I going to be

subjected to lawsuits becuase of of bunch of low lifes who can't do the right thing with other people's

    property.

Actually, Gorf, that was not aimed at you, as you obviously got stabbed in the back by your own buddies. I apologize for not being clear on that one.

  10. Has anyone else noticed that by a large margin the people supporting the CF seem completely obsessed with justifying piracy or condemning developers for having an anti-piracy stance?

Exactly how many people have been saying they could care less about that and look forward to the DSP games and PS/2 mouse?

I wonder if PS/2 keyboards and mice will still be available by the time this thing comes out...

Has anyone else noticed the handful of people constantly bashing the JagCF are a bunch of hypocrites?

Selling pirate games? They wouldn't even think of it.

Using other companies intellectual properties without permission? No they never did it.

  11. Hi people, could someone possibly help with this?

    http://www.dbug-automation.co.uk/forum/cgi...=1187537833/0#0

    Thanks

Already did, but did you get my message & the files? I used the adress that's on D-Bug official website, yet I got no answer whatsoever

Did you eventually find the other missing menus?

Yes, sorry for not answering. We got the files, but I think they were no use :/. CJ and Shw are trying to find some old friends that may have the entire BBC collection, so we hope we can retrieve those last few rare disks.

Anyway, if anyone has missing menus, especially #6-#10, even with errors, don't hesitate to send them over :)

Good luck with finding the last missing ones. Would be cool to have a full BBC menus collection available :) I remember my copy of Menu 31 had some issues. Couldn't get TMNT to load.

  12. Hi,

I have ripped all those Activision commercials from the Activision antology PS2 CD, and added them to my website a long time ago, try this link:

    http://atariforce.free.fr/vid_uk.htm

Also, try those links, good surprises await :D :

http://www.majkel.mds.pl/html/reklama/indexUKG2.htm (search for 'Atari'; there is one rare Lynx commercial)

http://www.commodore.ca/gallery/video/video.htm (some vids about Atari during the Tramiel era)

http://www.cyberroach.com/ (lots of jaguar commercials, also 'The Fly', 'Centipede' and 'Pole Position' commercials)

  13. Which Atari ST system makes for the best "game machine"?  I know systems like the TT030, and Falcon have compatibility problems with many older games, so they're probably out.  I don't know how bad the compatibility issues are on the STE line of computers, but I've heard of problems.  I don't know how many STE only games were released, but I'm guessing not many so the STE is probably out.

That leaves the 1040ST and Mega ST.  The Mega ST looks pretty sharp, so I think I may go for that unless there's a reason to upgrade to the Mega STE.

    Tempest

    Hi,

if you want the best ST game machine, you should get a STE with TOS 1.62 and 1 or 2 megs of RAM.

It is interresting to note that compatibility is better with cracked games than originals, it seems old ST games used some very strange protections that made the games crash on STE.
