  1. Hey all. I was gifted a second Lynx II last year which appeared to have splotches in the LCD, so recently I decided to do a couple of things: 1. Full capacitor replacement 2. McWill LCD replacement Makes sense, right? OK. Well, both the recap and the McWill replacement went great and tested successfully, but the issue persists. Here's a few images from the unit this afternoon after I finished and tested the unit: http://imgur.com/a/IwXeG http://imgur.com/a/I9FAs http://imgur.com/a/pvl0t Looking for opinions; there appear to be five distinct vertical lines that all glitching seems to emanate from (the BMX screen shows it most visibly). Those five lines are consistent and do not change their position, but does cause the exact same corruption in the same place when flipped; it's following the screen orientation. Those screens would look exactly the same no matter the orientation. So it immediately makes me wonder about the cartridge port. As for the cartridge port: No bent pins, touched them all with a small screwdriver to determine they're still springy, added some contact cleaner and took the cartridge in and out to make sure the contacts were hit. Now, the same California Games cartridge works fine in my other Lynx II with no video glitching, so it's not the cart itself. Everything else works great. Thank you in advance for any tips you might have!
  2. Don't mean to bump too much here, but this seemed like a relevant post that, if I bumped, would make sense. I've got an Atari 2800 I imported from Japan, verified working in excellent condition, 2 Atari 2800 controllers loose, the AC Adapter, and...two original Atari 2800 controllers still in their box from someone who had access to Atari's warehouse back in the day. I'm genuinely curious to know whether there's anyone else with a complete 4-player setup for the 2800 out there. To figure out if it was working fully, I needed to scan the frequency with my cheap-ish Chinese 720p projector until I located the signal since my RF Demodulator doesn't pick up Japanese CH2-3 RF. But she's working!
  3. I'm OG 1993--had one of the first to come to Colorado on launch day--and still around.
  4. Updated OP with manuals purchased so far. Still looking for PLENTY of Jaguar manuals! Please PM me if you have any extras available!
  5. Hey everyone...long time no see, and for good reason. Back on June 27th, 2008, I was working from home (like I always do) and a fire broke out in the level above our apartment. Long story short, while they saved the Jaguar/JagCD, the games, one 3-button pad (of 6), and the boxes, the manuals had been separated into another box for easy access and all were destroyed. The Jag CD's A/C adapter and my only ProController were also lost. Mold, smoke, and water destroyed another 12 of my systems, to boot, including my JVC X'Eye and Neo Geo CD system. Here are some photos of the damage. My wife and I had a great insurance policy, thankfully, even if they've been sh1theads along the way. So, that brings me to my request. If anyone has spare manuals, ProController, or a spare (original) Jaguar CD A/C Adapter they could sell me, I'd be most appreciative. It's been a hell of a time rebuilding since the fire, and now that I have a lot of the major things back to normal, I can give some attention to the Jag once again. I'm missing manuals for all commercially-released Jaguar games through the Telegames releases, if that helps. PM me if you can be of any assistance! I also have a boxed Super Famicom and a boxed Japanese Sega Mega Drive that were saved and are in mint condition (thanks to the ozone chamber they went through) I'd be willing to trade against as well. Sidenote: For the record, the prototypes in my possession were very well protected in a wooden wine box and I took them from the site of the fire the day after; they're sitting comfortably behind me. UPDATE: I no longer need any of the following manuals: Alien vs. Predator Attack of the Mutant Penguins Brutal Sports Football Cannon Fodder Checkered Flag Club Drive Cybermorph Doom Double Dragon V Flashback Flip Out! I-War Iron Soldier Missile Command 3D NBA Jam Pitfall Power Drive Rally Raiden Super Burn Out Syndicate Tempest 2000 Troy Aikman Football Ultra Vortek Val D Isere White Men Can't Jump Wolfenstein 3d Zool 2
  6. I have a Japanese copy of Wolfenstein 3-D. Game and label are in English, but the manual's Japanese like the other releases.
  7. I have a softmodded Xbox with a 250GB Western Digital drive in it, and I have to say it's useful as all heck. If anyone needs a decent media center, this is the way to go.
  8. As the guy that originally sold the AvP prototype to him, I can vouch 100% that it's very real, it's one-of-a-kind and NOT a repro. It's a real neat proto, and being able to select the Alien is an interesting experience. I obtained it myself along with a bunch of other quality protos for the Jag and Lynx from one of the last Atari employees of the Hasbro era. Many of which are one of a kinds, including the ROM that made up the Iron Soldier Beta limited edition release for the Jaguar (which I had dumped and donated in return for a free copy of the finished product ), the earliest-known Daemonsgate proto for the Lynx, and many others. Really, it was a once-in-a-lifetime haul. Just to note before I get PM-bombed, I've since sold off all my Lynx prototypes and just have some Jaguar prototypes left in my personal collection I'm not getting rid of anytime soon unless they're in trade for a copy of Battlesphere or other Jag protos. I'm especially interested in any that are pre-November 1993 launch.
  9. Yup, those of us with prototypes of the title know this. Funny how marketing works. Now, was there a way to access that Jaglink mode in earlier versions some of us might have through a key combo?
  10. BTW, I've removed the price from the AvP Lynx listing on Wikipedia. I'd prefer assholes don't use it to scam less-knowledgeable folks.
  11. Cool. Thanks for the quick reply on that.
  12. Anyone got a screenshot of this auction? It appears he might have been using the photos of the one-of-a-kind AvP I had, based on what I'm seeing in my web stats program. Lots of Wikipedia referrals in my logs from the AvP (Lynx) entry and no Google ad clicks always looks odd.
  13. Jay's right that when you get one, you hold onto it. I sold one once and it took a very lucky spotting on eBay to get one several years later -- from an ex-Atari employee. That actually led into a much bigger deal in the end. But yeah, they're worth gold in the community. I was working with Tototek ( http://www.tototek.com ) to make a run of their popular flash carts for various systems for the Jaguar, but I never got anywhere because they need a Jaguar in Taiwan to work with and Jaguar flash cart schematics -- and I don't have the money to ship one over. Otherwise, if someone carried the torch on this to raise the money to ship a Jaguar over along with a copy of the schematics, there'd probably be a new Jaguar flash cart run in the future. They've already expressed interest in doing it as long as they have the necessary information and testbed. Then you'd see them around the $125-$150 range instead of $350-$450, and on top of that you wouldn't need to search out ancient DOS tools to do the uploading, either. Did I mention they'd also be interested in doing a Lynx flash cart if they had all the necessary items? Someone could get the ball rolling on that as well... That said, Jay's offer is a sweet-ass deal and you should jump on it as fast as you can, if you have the money. You won't see them go for this little very often.

  15. Hey Eric. I was going to start the selling sometime next month, but my wife handed down the "make room" edict for my office, which is currently where everything's stored. As a result, I'm selling off a ton of rare systems and games on a few boards to concentrate on a few core collections (Jaguar, primarily). :/ Right now, the collection as a whole takes up a few full wire racks and 6-7 large moving boxes, so I've got my work cut out for me over the next week.
  16. The earlier prototype cart of this game (and Barkley -- both earlier than the released versions) that I have is a hoot. I've played the released BHH as well, and the earlier one is definitely nowhere even close to being as playable. That said, I do like the released version of BHH. Real good controls, and not too hard to pick up on.
  17. This is back on the market, now that I've settled into Chicago with my wife. Would also accept a straight up trade for a standard copy of Battlesphere. PM me if interested.
