  1. Is there a guide or tutorial available online that shows how to do this?
  2. Sweet little 24 inch RCA. It has composite, component and VGA inputs. it was on sale for $120 at the local BJs wholesale store. Works great. I'm very happy with it. Part number..LED24G45RQ
  3. It was the TV. Picked up a new one today. I have been running a simple color pattern program for the past 45 min. Everything is fine. Working great! Thanks guys. I appreceate your help. Especially for the simplest of problems. Dave.
  4. Yeah, Im leaning towards a crappy tv. I am going to take a chance and get a new one. Thanks for the replys, I'll let you know what happens.
  5. Are the fancy flat screens safe for use with the C64? Do they cause stress on the video chip? I am using my 64 with a composite cable into the av connectors on the back of my tv. After about 10 or 15 minutes, the screen starts to flicker. That worries me, and I shut everything off. It does the same with my TI99. Maybe it's just a junk TV? In general, are new TVs safe for use with classic computers?
  6. Link goes to a interesting munch man cart .
  7. Thank You for the information. I am in the U.S. and I have never seen one until I was gifted one by my good friend. She found it at a random garage sale. The last time I powered it up, 6 or 7 years ago, it worked. I am going to have to try it again. Very interesting.
  8. Are the 16's considered to be rare, hard to find? I did a quick search on eBay and found very few listings. I have one, and curiosity has gotten the better of me. Thanks, Dave
  9. I think this would work. There is still a Radio Shack in Auburn,NY. I called them the other day looking for that elusive +5 volt supply I ended up not needing. They had no clue what I was asking about anyway.
  10. Only one way to find out. I guess I am going to the last Radio Shack in my county for parts. If they are still there....
  11. LOL Schmitzi. Nice graphic...Would it work do you think?
  12. Now, my thought is, with the speech Synthisizer hooked up. There is a access door on the speech box, could hide the battery pack in there. Edit.. It would be neat if it works.
  13. It should work, I think. But what do I know. AA battery's are 1.5 volts each. So 6 of them will deliver 9 volts. Right?
  14. Here is a question: Seeing as how my version of the CF7+ runs on 7.5 to 9 volts, could I assemble a battery pack using AA battery's or a single 9v battery? Or would they not supply enough milliamperes? Has anyone ever tried doing this? It would be nice to free up the wires I trip over all the time.
  15. This thread reminds me of when I got my TI. $50 from Kmart. This must have been in 1983? Maybe 1984? A long time ago. No books or manuals or anything. My Mom helped me type a letter to the company, asking if they could send me the missing books. A few weeks later we got a reply. Unfortunately, they did not have any. I was devastated. Fortunately, Home Computer magazine and Compute! magazines were still going pretty strong. Thanks to them and friends from middle school I was able to get the information I needed. I still have the books that Compute! published. C. Regina to the rescue! In hindsight, I wish I still had that letter from TI. But, being just a punk kid, I threw it away. Oh well.
  16. There she is, plugged into the speech synthesizer. Powered up. I did the old dsk1.catalog thing. Everything is still there! I am so pleased. Thanks to you guys. Man it's been years since I used this machine.
  17. Seeing as I have no idea what a vrm module is, I'm assuming it's meant to run on at least 7.5v. I posted a photo a little while ago of my CF7+ I bought it years ago, maybe like 8 years ago. Probably the first version ever made.
  18. Yes! Sucsess! 7.5 volts works! Man, I am so freeking excited! I want to send out a huge THANK YOU!! To everybody that took the time to read this thread, and help me with my problem. You guys rock. So cool. Thank You!
  19. Ok, I do have a 7.5 and a 9 volt supply kicking around here somewhere..I will dig them out and see what happens. I hope it dosent explode.

Loaded Chrome on my laptop, now it works beautifully! Very nice, good work sir! I enjoy it very much.
  21. This is the one I have, bought it many years ago. I *think* I used a 7.5 volt power supply. My memory was jogged by a few of the above posts. It definitely is the old version.
  22. My CF7+ is also different from the pictures posted above. I will try to take pictures when I get home from work.
  23. Very cool stuff RXB! Wow!
