  1. Yeah, I suppose I shoulda thought of that...lol. But out of curiosity I am still wondering if anyone has in fact made it work with a cell phone "hot spot".
  2. I have a wi-fi modem for my C64 that was sold by Commodore4Ever. I was trying to use my cell phone as a "Hotspot" and not having any luck. I can get it to connect and it shows the i.p. address and everything on the terminal program ok, but then my 64 locks up. The only way to reset it is to turn the computer off. Has anyone used one of these devices with a cell phone sucsessfully? If so, what did you use for baud rate and modem type in the terminal program? I know it will work, I know it will....
  3. ..Again, I have to say the CF7+ and or the nanoPEB changed the world for regular enthusiasts like myself that could not afford a real PEB but still enjoy using the real iron. I dusted off my TI after it sat for 20 some odd years. I still suck at programming it, I still like to think I can. (not well) Honestly it was because of the emulated disk drive that I even found this forum, so many years ago. The brilliant minds I discovered on here were all because of the CF7+. Thats my story and it is the truth.
  4. In my opinion, the CF7+ and or the NanoPEB has to be on the top of this list. That device changed EVERYTHING. edit: Currently available...well I guess they aint, but still should be on the top of the list anyway.
  5. : Sneakernet transferring files from one computer to another wearing sneakers or maybe slippers within a 10 foot radius of a refrigerator full of beer. ; ok1 stupid forth joke.
  6. 30 bids? A system like that was only good for maybe $75 last year...retro explosion.
  7. At the risk of sounding like a complete and total idiot,,( I am ) what is the risk if the laptop is never connected to the internet? Unless I am missing something obvious..( I probably am ). Cant files be transferred via a usb stick? Ignore me if I missed the point, or educate me if I am completely wrong.
  8. I am following this thread with great interest, and I would be interested in one of those laptops @OLD CS1. I picked up my old SONY VIAO out of storage for this project, but the years have not been kind. The keyboard is all wonky, works fine for a few minutes, then decides it dosent want to work at all...
  9. Also..you have typo on rom1..VBGEM..if that is a copy and paste into your message. Edit: I tried it this way, with the typo fixed and the cart crashed when I tried using it...but when I navigate to the files like I mentioned above it works fine.
  10. Cartridge>User>Open>Navigate to the folder where you have the two .bin files stored>click on XBGEM_G.BIN . Thats what works for me.
  11. When and if...Put me on the list for one please and pretty please.
  12. Is this compatible with a NanoPEB and or CF7+ ? Will there be a physical Cartridge to use with "real iron" ? I agree with Barney up there.....WOW
  13. For something so simple as a mono patch cord? What is this world coming to? Its kinda sad really. Where is a Radio Shack when you need one...
  14. Is there a Best Buy in your area? They should have patch cables.
  15. Back not to long ago I had a super cool AFX track set up in the spare bedroom in my trailer. 4x8 table with a four lane track all screwed down to the table with separate power supplies for each lane. I even built a lap counter with LEDs and photo cells for each lane that ran on my Windows XP computer. It was a lot of fun! I was in the process of "decorating" the layout with HO scale buildings and trees and all that stuff when we moved into a "proper" house. Now there is no room to rebuild the layout, even though the house is 5 times the size of my little 'ol trailer. :( My favorite cars to run were the Thunder Jets. No traction magnets at all. They would fishtail and drift around the corners. What a blast! One day I would love to rebuild my set up and get back into it again. This thread reminded me of how much fun that was. There is a local guy here in my town a few blocks away that has a online store for slotcars. He is a really cool guy. I can post the link to his shop if that is allowed. It is a very fun hobby and quite addicting...lol.
  16. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the best community on the internet. You guys rock!
  17. Ok, as a follow up to let you all know. I ran a simple Sprite animation program on the console that locks up with RXB, using standard XB. It took about a hour, but the console locked up. It just froze. So it is obviously the console itself that is messed up. I'm still not sure why, but the RXB itself has nothing to do with it.
  18. I tried again after reading this. It is not a heat issue, the computer locked up after about 3 minutes this time. The "coffee warmer" area was still cool to the touch.
  19. Man, that really is something. I'm new relatively new to this forum, and even I know of Gazoo. Of course, I've read most of everything that's been posted since the beginning of time on here. That really does need to go to a good home. I know he was brilliant, I know he had a sense of humor. I know how much he gave to this community. I know I've had too many beers. I hope that system goes to a good place where it will be respected.
  20. Replacing the cartridge port definatly made a difference. It works much better now, although the computer still locks up from time to time while using the RXB cartridge. (And only the RXB cart). It must be the "in console" ram expansion is conflicting with the uberGrom based cartridge. I would like to add, it used to lock up and the screen would just go crazy with random garbage displayed after about 5 minutes of use. Now, after I replaced the port, it works well for about 20 minutes and the computer just freezes, locks up. No crazy screen garbage, just a locked up computer. It's gotta be the ram expansion. Oh well.
  21. I have one I pulled from another TI. I cleaned everything with electrical contact cleaner, and removed the dirty felt sponge thing. I will swap it out tomorrow and see if it makes a difference.
  22. Do you think this could cause my problem? (Not my picture, I got it from Google). If mine has dirty contacts could it effect only that one cartridge?
  23. No sir, my CF7 is without the memory chip.
  24. Yeah, I agree. Something with that console is messed up. I know the cart itself is fine because it works perfectly on my stock TI. Is there a way to disable the ram expansion on my modded console? You know, cut a wire, like they do in the movies? Just in time..
