ZeroPage Homebrew Twitch Stream
Thomas Jentzsch replied to ZeroPage Homebrew's topic in Homebrew Discussion
Regard the vote of last night's show: How about reading out the names of people who resubscribed since the last show? That way every gets mentioned, just less frequently. And the whole list is still visible anyway. -

Does that mean you had the switches wrong? -

The 2600-daptor definitely works on a computer. I have one and it does. Are you sure you got the switches on the daptor right? Which game did you use for testing? -

That's dead easy. Just follow this link and chose the first option. -

Thanks for testing. I wonder why the Atari paddles do not work via 2600-daptor. IIRC this has been reported to work. Can you try to use them from your computer using Stella? -
Try to sell it?

Previous versions scaled too, just differently. Here is a part of a screenshot of River Raid done with 6.0 (NTSC, aspect ratio 0.91): Note that the width of the steps in the diagonal differs. Probably you are using aspect ratio 1.0. Then there should be no scaling effects in 6.0. Starting with 6.1 we scale differently: The width is integer scaled The height is scaled with anti-aliasing. This reflects much better what happens on a CRT: We plan to add a no-scaling option soon.

Works as designed. Frame +1 runs the emulation for one frame. This must invalidate all future save states, because e.g. the user input might be different in the frame (or line or step). To move forward using the TimeMachine always use the right arrow or (Alt/Cmd+Right).

This has been implemented now. With the next release (6.3) Stella will allow selecting an audio device.

You're welcome. But like I said above, IMO the TimeMachine is the better tool here.

Stella 6 on the R77: the eagle is landing
Thomas Jentzsch replied to DirtyHairy's topic in Atari 2600
Good news. Yes, the hardware of the R77 used for paddles is quite bad. It creates a lot of extra jitter and one paddle even influences the other one (we tried to compensate that as good as possible). -
BTW: Why don't you use the TimeMachine to narrow down the situation?
-
I just implemented this one.

Champ Games - RobotWar: 2684 (aka Robotron:2084), 2600

Looks like 3D printed. Maybe the data is available. -
You have to update the R77 to the community edition. Then you have the latest Stella in full glory.
-
The R77 might work better for you then.

BlackJack Theta VIII - 2600 game - 8K

@azure I just tested 0.91 on my console, but I didn't notice any screen rolls or screen jumps. That would have caused the screen to jump up or down. -

"Most popular" and "Latest" might work better. -
After watching the show, I think there should be a variation with high friction (and more thrust). That would change gameplay quite a lot. You would get real sumo action then.
-
I just reviewed the video, looking for pattern. And they exist for sure. Not at the very beginning, but after ~3000 (probably when the game has reached maximum speed), they start repeating. Attached are three shots from one game and one shot from another game.

Looks like the beginning of today's show is not on Twitch. We only have two short and one 1h videos. -

Not recovering for more than 30 minutes now makes me worried. Something seems severely broken. -
