I *thought* the RS Basketball proto was NTSC, but maybe I'm wrong. Does anybody know if there are any special hardware requirements for the proto(like Klax has with the super chip)?Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
RS Basketball displays about 290 lines, which is to much for NTSC. But a NTSC hack is on it's way already

I already got the nerw lablels and they really look great! So much better, that I find it hard to believe, that Randy still uses the same inkjet printer.

That's sad news, perhaps youcan make some profit with auctioning the remaining boxes.
On the positive side, you can now give others some very valuable information. Perhaps you should write down your experiences.

IMO it would be fair enough, if the buyers would be the first to get a full and unrestricted version and before they buy, they can have a look at the demo first. But I'm speaking from a players point of view, collectors might have a totally different oppinion.
So I'm not the one to decide. Your customers will do that for me.

I think that I described the game quite good onand so you can decide whether you may like it or not...
You know, there is always a big difference between words and the real experience.

So even the sales are retro as you haven't been able to play Atari-Games before purchase back then, have you?I played them all before and read the reviews in TeleMatch. I'd never buy "die Katze im Sack".

Otherwise Pac-Man would've become famous for selling so bad instead of selling so very well.I'm sure Pac-Man was also described as a very good game, and it sucked. So you shouldn't relate your game to Pac-Man at all, or I might start thinking, that Mental Kombat follows the same strategie.

Will there be a (limited) demo version ROM available, so that you "can try before you buy"?

Danke schonmal!

Perhaps changing the music might help.

Alle 2600 Tests aus den Ausgaben die ich noch nicht habe, natürlich.
Welche das sind, steht in dem anderen TeleMatch-Thread.

BTW: The ROM that you can download from AtariAge has 8K..

Oh yes, I remember typing in the contest winning Shades from the 64'er magazine.
I never would do that today.

You might have 1000 posts, but I got member id 1000!

Update:
I changed my provider and cleared my browser cache again. Now everything works again.
Perhaps the proxy cache of the old provider got corrupted.

Hi Albert,
on this page I can see your answer, but on the normal page I only see parts of the headline graphics, but no text at all.
And that's the same for all other threads iI tested. I can read the first post, the second is corrupted and that's it.
I have cleared my browser cache and restarted the browser, but the problems remain.
Might be the timeout problem.

What's happening here? Several threads are broken!

Ja, damals wurde Jugendschutz noch so richtig streng gehandhabt.
Battezone und Robot Tank sind damals auch aus denselben Gründen gnadenlos abgwertet worden. Abstrakte Gewalt war dagegen weniger schlimm.
Was TeleMatch wohl zu Glenn Saunders Death Derby gesagt hätte?

Follow the link above (The Dig), there you'll find DASM (an assembler, not a compiler). Then you need a good editor (I recommend Textpad). You don't need graphic or sound editors for the 2600, because the hardware is so limited, that you can do it by hand.
The exists no beginner guide for the 2600, but the very first thing you have to do, is learn 650x assembler. Perhaps you can find books for this outdated CPU.

I'm old fashioned and still listening CDs only.
At the moment there are:
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours,
China Crises - Working With Fire and Steal
The Silencers - Dance to the Holy Man.
I hope somebody knows them too.

What are the best Atari magazines from the 80's?
in Atari 2600
Posted
In Germayn there was TeleMatch which was about video games only. IIRC it was related to the Electronic Games Magazine in the US.
