  1. Seeding complete archive again now. I removed two files from the seed list that were not in the archive but that the torrent was trying to download: 12bwrongtitles.ogv (130.4 MB) 12bwrongtitles.mp4 (2.17 GB) Also, two padding files that I assume were related to those: 63 (1.5 MB) 62 (306.7 KB)
  2. I've just started re-seeding too, although I had to start 'almost' fresh asI'd originally downloaded it on a different machine. My client checked the files and hung at 90.7% so I just restarted the torrent and it is downloading the missing files - upon looking at them they just seem to be some .ogv files, but hopefully it shouldn't take too long and then I'll leave it seeding indefinitely.
  3. @MacRorie - registering my intention to buy one fully assembled in a 3D printed case please!
  4. Oooh, thanks! It might have been The Little Sound demo. I'll have a proper watch!
  5. Just seen a good blog post here that is a companion piece to the Project Hubbard Kickstarter. I had a C64 before my ST (520STFM) so was familiar with Rob's work anyway, but I remember having a demo disk with loads of Hubbard tunes on it and they sounded so different. I was hoping the one on the blog post was the one I remembered but sadly not, so I'll have to keep trying to track that down!) Seems he did a fair bit on the ST though, and some that I didn't realise were by him originally. Might be something of interest to some of you.
  6. For the Hubbard fans, there's a new blog post over at https://c64audio.com/blogs/news/rob-tari-rob-hubbard-on-the-atari-8-bit-and-st-platforms that highlights his work with the POKEY on the 8-bit systems. It's been written as a companion to the Project Hubbard Kickstarter. Might be of interest to some of you.
  7. Hi. This may be a stupid question, but am I right to assume that ANYTHING that is on the AtariMania pages as having a MISSING against dump is required? For example, this Pac-Man: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-pac-man_5987.html
  8. @Bryan - I'd love one of these (in the UK). Am I able to order one please?
  9. I've actually got two copies of the poster book on pre-order. One to keep as a book, one to cut up and stick on the wall! A shame that none of my mini-collection (Pole Position, Space Invaders, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong) are in it, but still cool!
  10. I think the photo makes it appear 'redder' than it actually is. There is a bit of bleed, but you're right, I'll keep it original. Maybe if I get another 800XE somewhere (or even a 65XE) I'll spray it a different colour and put this badge on, just for the sake of it!
  11. First-world problem. Do I / don't I: Now I've painted the case, and am in the process of retrobrighting the keycaps, I've turned my attention to the badge. The red is badly faded, and the silver Fuji and 800XE are tarnished. I try to keep all of my machines as original as possible, but I'm considering putting this new badge on. I had originally thought of putting some masking tape over the original badge and then sticking the new badge over the tape, but it sits VERY proud. I'm stuck in a loop of not knowing what to do! Also, the only way I'd ever use this machine is if I got the faulty GTIA replaced, so it may be a moot point!
  12. Thanks, but this was literally my first time of spray-painting. Anything. Ever! I also painted my console keys (lightly, but not lightly enough) so took a cotton bud to the text with a tiny bit of clean spirit on them and some elbow grease. You can see where they've been rubbed, and they're not great, but from a distance (when it's on the display shelf) you'd probably not notice.
  13. Mostly, yes. Sometimes it can be a result of too-strong sun, or sometimes even the type of plastic. When the paint match is this good though, I'm more than happy to paint it - the yellowing won't come back! And I just used B-Blonde 9% peroxide cream, no oxy.
  14. I just wrote this post up after spraying my 800XE today. Could be of interest to some of you who are fearful of retrobrighting like me! https://retrogamesultra.com/2017/04/29/spray-painting-the-atari-xe-line-of-8-bits/
  15. Thanks for sorting it! Having only just got that 800 I didn't want to destroy it, so let someone with better skills do the job for me!
  16. After missing the last two rounds with my knackered back, I'm hopeful that I'll be able to sit and play for a while this round.
  17. Thanks for posting these Nir - I finally got around to making mine today!
  18. Hi all. On the new-to-me 800 I've just got, loads of the keys weren't working. I've just disassembled the keyboard and looks like the mylar is knackered. I've attached a pic of the mylar, one of the PCB, and one of the mylar that I've made notes on. I'm fairly new to all of this though, so would I be right in thinking that I need to paint conductive paint along the bits that are effectively empty on the connector? The black areas are the conductive traces, I assume, since continuity works on those. And what is the creamy coloured stuff that is on the contacts of the PCB? Presumably that's what has come off of the mylar, but should I leave that on there or do I need to clean it off? Sorry for the newbie questions, but I would really like to learn and be able to repair these things myself.
  19. Thanks a lot, you've saved me a lot of headscratching!
  20. Ahhhh, thanks! I could NOT work out where it went! Does it just sit along the middle somewhere?
  21. Here's one I've just taken delivery of. It's PAL and was once owned by a Thorn EMI games evaluator! Model No. Atari 800 U Date Code: #063 Serial: BK 016180 Handwritten sticker: BK202073 2/8
  22. I've just taken delivery of an Atari 800. It was filled with the usual 35+ years of dust and grime, and only a few of the keys work, so I took it apart to clean it and inspect the keyboard. I had it upside down with the top half of the case still attached. It was difficult to get the main board out, but when I did, a black plastic strip fell out onto the desk and I have no idea where it's supposed to go back. Is anyone able to help please?! Pics attached, and it's about 6 or 7cm long I suppose. Is it something to do with the cartridge door catch? While taking it apart, I also foolishly removed the metal strip on the cart door, and one of the small plastic stalks snapped off. I hope it can be superglued back on Also, tried the electrical tape trick on the keyboard, that didn't work, so I need to inspect the mylar with a multimeter later. Thanks for your help! Steve
