Hey Tim. Will the deluxe edition be available in the UK?
-
@Funkyspectrum - the link in the post two above yours (the last from Ethaniel) still works.

Good point!

Mine is PAL. Boxed. Just wondered as I'm thinking of selling it!

Thanks for the reply! I have a boxed PAL version here, so I don't need one! I was just wondering as I may sell it! I'm in the UK, so PAL is my thing anyway! -
Thanks for all the tips. Don't really want to go for the alternative solution (although it is excellent) as I like the purity of the stock setup Going to send my original to flashjazzcat for him to have a look at it for me.

Nice! I've just pre-ordered from Amazon UK. Ridiculously excited about this book!

Hi. A number of sites (including 2600 Connection) state that there are 'a few rare versions' of Super Football that have a 7800 sticker on the top edge of the cart. Does anyone have any idea just how rare these are? Many thanks.

Bump! -
Hi all. I recently bought an XEGS from someone on eBay. The system works, and so does the Light Gun (Bug Hunt played perfectly well) BUT the keyboard doesn't. I've swapped it out for a known good keyboard from my 65XE and still no joy. When both of these keyboards are connected to the XEGS, ONLY the Break key works. If I put the faulty XEGS keyboard into my 65XE only some of the keys work (that, I guess, is almost certainly a problem with the Mylar?). So I think this problem is two-fold: 1) The Mylar needs replacing, and 2) There is something wrong with either the XEGS, or the XEGS Keyboard Sub PCB. I'm leaning towards the latter, but I don't know enough about the guts of an XEGS, or about electronics. Using a multimeter I can tell there are no breaks in the traces on the sub PCB. Could it be that one of the 4051s is dead? If it was JUST the mylar I'd assume it wouldn't work at all once placed in the 65XE, same as when connected to the XEGS, so that's what makes me think there's something else at work. Is there anything in the XEGS itself that could cause this behaviour? Sorry, I'm a bit of a novice at this sort of stuff. Not afraid to try stuff, but need some pointers please? By the way, I'm in the UK, so shipping costs will prevent me just ordering parts to keep trying to some extent!

Sure, they sell them, but is it possible to use the XEGS one in a 65XE? I read something on another thread about something being present/missing on each?
-
Sorry to hijack this thread, but would it work the other way around, so an XEGS keyboard (without the power LED) inside a 65XE?
-
Cool, thanks for the info

Hi all. Does anyone know if this type of 'Atari Advantage' starburst was a sticker on the box, or cellophane sleeve, or actually printed on the box itself? Many thanks!

UK Atari 1050 PSU - Where can I get one?
ultrasteve replied to robaberryuk's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Received my power supply from rock-gear.de - works like a charm, although the casing was broken so they're sending me a replacement. -
Will this power adapter work with an 800XL?!
ultrasteve replied to ultrasteve's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Hi all. Just an update - I received a replacement. Used with an LED tester I know it 'works' but unfortunately it won't power up my 65XE at all, even when nothing else is connected to it. I dare not try it on my 800XL in case it fries it, so I'm just returning it for a refund. -
UK Atari 1050 PSU - Where can I get one?
ultrasteve replied to robaberryuk's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Thanks to Thorsten, I've ordered one with a UK plug from rock-gear.de. Also, I found out why it is so difficult to find one in the UK now. It's because it's essentially illegal! Single output AC/AC power supplies are now subject to energy efficiency guidelines. A loophole exists whereby if they are dual output then they are allowed. A secondary auxiliary output offered by way of a small jack that will almost certainly not be used(!) needs to be present and agreed by the customer. This obviously bumps costs up. This is why Maplin have stopped selling the 9V N65DL. They sell a 12V (which has an 18V aux) because it was a more popular product than the 9V which they don't want to order in bulk at the higher price that it would need to be if it was dual output. These are global regulations, too, so whilst some sources will obviously still exist it is going to become harder to find them on sale, particularly from February when the new guidelines are enforced, so probably worth buying one now if you need one! For those interested, this site gives an introductory overview to the regulations along with some grabs of the data. And this site is the data source. -

Thanks Thorsten! I noted that rock-gear.de ship to the UK, so I may go that way! It's so hard to find a UK supplier for a 9V AC/AC that is rated higher than 1A! Although there are lots of AC/DC switching adaptors available. -

Thanks Stefan! I'll report back when the new one arrives to tell you if it works!
