  1. Much the same problem I'm having, I need to review and suspect a crappy CH376 module.
  2. Apologies, I'm kind of late to the party here, but would like to order a Concerto. What is the current order process please, and what would be the current cost for a cart be including shipping to the UK? Many thanks
  3. Thanks folks for the info, I will check mine out. It's an S2. I'll have to check out the PSG stuff later as I have to go and sort out some family stuff tomorrow.
  4. As I am relatively new in the Aquarius space, how do I differentiate between an S1 and an S2? Also, is there a basic program I can use to test the AY, as although there is audio coming through (The beep at boot), I can't play back PT3 files from USB right now, I just get silence.
  5. Well, I don't think my CHS 376 is any good I got the last few parts and finished assembly of the upper AY board and tried to play some of the PT3 files, but nothing, and although I can see the files, I can't load any basic or ROM files. I am definitely getting some sound out of the AY jack though as I get a beep during power on. I think I'll see about building a ROM with USB basic and 3 ROMs at least to see if that will give me something whilst I figure stuff out. Bloody annoying.
  6. Cool, thanks so much for all of this info, I will try some stuff out and report back
  7. My CH376 was from eBay. I moved the jumpers to the end near the edge connector just in case they were wrong and I needed to adjust. IC3, well I was sent the wrong item, so waiting for a replacement and a couple of other components I didn't have to hand. Whilst I do see files if I try to load the ROMs off USB, I'm getting a reboot to the standard basic prompt. Checking memory available, I can see that the RAM has been consumed compared to checking when I go straight into basic, but the ROM doesn't start. I am also unable to save basic files to the USB stick, either. I'm using the command SAVE "PROGRAM.BAS" and get a file create error. I'm also struggling to load basic programs as well. 'RUN program' name fails with '?SN Error' and LOAD "PROGRAM.BAS" fails with "filetype mismatch ?FC Error". That may be me getting the command wrong, but I did try LOAD "PROGRAM.BAS", * and LOAD "PROGRAM.BAS", *A but got '?SN Error' and ?FC Error respectively. I'm guessing this 'should' work without IC3, but it'd be nice to know one way ot the other, since it looks like IC3 may just be a clock divider for the PSG. Also, is there anything that documents the jumper settings for the ROM module please?
  8. Have just built a Micro Expander myself, though I am awaiting a couple of parts to finish it off. I can boot to the menu, and read a USB stick, so that is good start!! I will see how it's looking once I get the remainder of my parts and have had a chance to try loading some stuff.
  9. Cool, yes looking forward to that, thanks. Before flashing I was able to get it kind of working as it goes. I'd boot to SDX on the SIDE3, then type CAR in DOS to start the loader. I'd CTRL+Enter the MAC65 cart image and then try to exit back to SDX. I'd get a black screen, but if I hit the cartridge button, then reset, it would boot back to SDX, then if I typed CAR again I could get to MAC65. Dropping to DOS would give a non fatal error about disk saving, but since updating it's all fine. Nonetheless it did work and allow me to switch between the two and save/load to the APT partitions on the SD cart. I am a beginner, so still getting my head around assembly language, but it is really nice to have a very workable environment thanks to SIDE3. Great work, please keep it up
  10. Just flashed the new bios (221020_RC) and it's working just how I always wanted it to after an initial mis-step that was probably SD card compatibility. Have settled on some bog standard Sandisk 8GB cards and they work a treat I'm happy to say. I can now boot with the SIDE3/PBI bios from U1MB and set my cart as MAC 65 then switch to and from SDX no problem at all with unfettered access to the 'hard' drives on the SD card Looking forward to the full release!
