  1. The box looks awesome. I'm so happy that this has all been coming together to become a reality. I've been loving my Jaguar GD along with all of my other products from Retro HQ.
  2. That's great news. I would rather get it directly from you if possible, even if that means waiting a little more. I'm currently finishing my basement and most of my systems are temporarily unhooked and in storage, so the wait really doesn't matter to me. Thanks again and keep up the great work.
  3. I don't understand the hate for tank controls. Games with fixed camera angles like Resident Evil would be impossible to play without tank controls. Other games like Tomb Raider could go either way. Sure the tank controls are clunky, but they are also very precise. The character always does exactly what you want it to do (it might just take a while to line it up right). Unlike the later Tomb Raider games such as Legend or Anniversary. Those controls were much smoother, but at the cost of overall control. The number of times I've died in those games simply because Laura jumped in the opposite direction that I pushed the analogue stick drove me crazy.
  4. Most games from that era look bad today, but that doesn't mean they aren't fun to play. Yes, Tomb Raider looks terrible today, but it's still one of my favorite games of all time and I still play through it about once per year.
  5. I haven't been around in a while, and I'm a little unclear if the original pre-orders were officially canceled or not. When I log into my account, it still shows my order with only 5 people in front of me. That makes sense because I remember just missing the initial batch which would make me one of the first in the second batch (assuming it hasn't been canceled). I totally understand why Saint planned to cancel pre-orders and start over, but I 'm wondering if he actually canceled them or not. TLDR: I'm just trying to confirm if I should be ready to make a new pre-order once they go live again, or if I can just wait on my original order. Either way I'm excited to get one regardless of how long I may have to wait. Thanks again Saint and I hope everything is going much better for you now.
  6. The fact that most of the first party games (and many third party games) have been ported to either the 3DS or Switch speaks to how great the game library was for the Wii U. It's just a shame that they handled the marketing so poorly. I still love my Wii U.
  7. I finally got a chance to finish the latest (and mostly likely last) DLC for Mudrunner. I still love that game and can't wait for the sequel. I also picked up The Invisible Hours for $5 at GameStop. It's an interesting VR game and sort of relaxing if you are looking for something that requires minimal effort. It's basically one step above a walking simulator, but it's still worth trying out, especially for $5.
  8. Funny you say that. The sun trials were also my least favorite part because I hate timed stuff. I did manage to complete them all because I wanted to get the platinum trophy (first platinum trophy I've ever attained). My least favorite was probably the stealth trial. Not because I hate stealth, but because I hate trying to be stealthy, while also trying to hurry. ?
  9. The controls are actually pretty smooth in RE, by which I mean that the game will always do what you want it to do. Some people complain about the tank controls, but there is really no other option when using fixed camera angles. I can't imagine how unplayable RE would be without tank controls.
  10. There is no question that the story is going to be weird, and probably difficult to follow. But one thing we know from past experience is that you don't have to follow the story to enjoy most Kojima games. The gameplay usually stands on its own.
  11. I'm definitely interested in this, and as others have said, at this point, I don't really want to know too much else. I'll probably get this close to launch and try to ignore as much about the story as I can until then.
  12. I started downloading as much free stuff as I could last night. I'll continue for the next month or so. Obviously, I'm avoiding anything that will clearly stop working once the servers shut down, but I believe most of the games I have will continue to work without server support. I noticed a lot of my emulators had updates available, so I'll probably update everything one last time as well. I was lucky enough to get my OUYA pretty cheap, so I never felt that I didn't get my monies worth. It's just a shame because the system had so much potential.
  13. As I discussed before, there is no cable clutter if you are organized about it. If done correctly, there are no visible cables except the one cable that runs from the processor box to the headset. That shouldn't be an OCD nightmare unless you can't handle any gaming system before the PS3 era. If you are truly OCD like I am, get the PS4 pro since it is the only model with a USB port on the back which means you don't have to run a cable to the front of your PS4 which I hate doing on anything that's hooked up permanently.
  14. That's funny you mention that. The time trials were my least favorite part due to the fact that I hate time limits on anything. I eventually was able to get a blazing sun on all of them, but it was the only achievement that wasn't fun for me. I have both a platinum trophy and a 100% game completion on my profile. Oddly enough, getting everything to achieve a platinum trophy will not necessarily get you 100% game completion, and achieving 100% game completion will not necessarily get you a platinum trophy, since the requirements for each are unique.
  15. I always tried to start a Band Camp using stealth, but I don't think I ever successfully cleared one using only stealth. This also reminds of of Cauldrons. I remember the first one I found, and how crazy difficult it was. But then, surprisingly, the others weren't as bad. By the time I finished all of them, I realized that I just happened to find the most difficult one first. Lucky me.
  16. I know I disabled an alarm at least once, but it was so long ago, I honestly don't remember what I had to do. For some reason, I want to say it was with a melee attack.
  17. I've only ever charged my PS3 controllers with the original Sony cords that came with the system, or the charging docks that sort of display your controllers while they charge. Are you sure you are using the correct type of cord? Just because it plugs in doesn't mean it's the correct cord to use. The only other idea would be to double check that the charging ports are clean without lint or dust or anything like that.
  18. I can't comment on the specific part of the story that you seem to be concerned about because I didn't really think about that when I was playing it, but I can honestly say that the story line was one of the most interesting story lines that I've ever seen in a video game. In most games, I just want the cut scene to end so I can get back to playing. In Horizon, there were times when I wanted to get to the next part as soon as possible because I wanted to see what would happen next in the story. Loved this game, and it was the first game I ever got a platinum trophy on. I still need to try out the Frozen Wilds expansion.
  19. I imported a PAL copy of Fruit Ninja VR. It's a pretty fun game and well suited for VR. There isn't much to it, but it could be a fun party game and certainly a good entry game for people new to VR.
  20. If you set it up correctly, the cable issue is a minor one. I have my VR box and all wiring between the TV and PS4 tucked away neatly behind the TV along with the rest of the wiring for my other systems. The only thing that has to be taken out and put away each time you play it is the actual headset which only uses one wire running from it to the VR box. As long as you keep it all hooked up at your home, it's not big deal. Now if you plan to use it between different systems at different locations, the wiring and hooks ups would certainly be a hassle.
  21. Just now realized how jacked up my post is. I'm not sure how that happened, and it's been too long to fix it. Oh well, I guess you can still get what I was trying to say.
  22. What area do you live in where eBay isn't available? But seriously, I would just recommend cleaning the contacts as well. I have several PS2 controllers with similar issues with different buttons. I've been lazy about cleaning them because I still have several other working controllers, so I just use those. 23. There is a lot more to it than that. I suggest you read up on it. It's an interesting story.
  24. That thread was locked because it was a duplicate thread. The original thread about the $100k SMB game is now 165 posts long or about 5 times as long as the AA thread. Not as suspicious as you might be thinking it is.
