For what it's worth, I've bought many things from Arcade Shopper and never had a problem.

Low BIN price if you're looking for a fixer upper PEB

He told me the producers of HALT AND CATCH FIRE (on AMC) purchased a ton of his inventory. My wife and I enjoy the show as it's not really anything close to a documentary, yet they skirt around many issues of the 80s-90s computing days. One of the main characters worked at TI (speak and spell product) and mentioned the power supply problem and cancelling the TI-99/4 during one episode. Weird part: I've watched every episode with eagle-eyes yet haven't noticed ANY TI hardware on the show. Zip! Lots of PC and Commodore stuff, a bit of Atari. Fun show though. I enjoy hitting pause and explaining references to She-who-must-be-obeyed. Thinking the producers must have tossed everything they received from Waterloo into the Hollywood landfill.
I think I remember seeing a PEB on a shelf in that guy's garage in the first season

I have found in my experience in marriage that it is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission!and everything over $200 only cost $200 if you get my meaning.

They had one at the Sears in Norman, Oklahoma. I remember it well, it was next to the Sears branded Atari 2600 clone.

Sorry to hear that. This has been a terrible year.

I wish someone would produce nanopeb devices again.

Thanks for all the offers of help, but I managed to get another controller and the good news is my drives and cables are fine, but the suspect controller, in fact, was the problem. Guess I need to contact the seller now.

I'd suggest making sure the edge connector on the bottom of the card is nice and clean. You might also try putting the card in a different slot. Have you tried with just the internal drive connected?
I've tried all of the above.
-
Maybe just a cable issue ?
One is an internal cable the other is external, 2 different cables

I'd like to reiterate the drives and disks I'm using worked fine with the previous controller. starting to think this one is bad too

I just got a TI disk controller on Ebay to replace the one I ruined. Assuming the seller is honorable in his evaluation that the controller "works perfectly", I need to figure out what could be wrong. My previous controller worked fine with my PHP 1250 drive and my Lothartek HXC, I plugged them both in initially, and when I start up the system with XB 2.7 and try to list a directory, the TI drive spins up nothing is displayed and then it goes back to the main menu. Same with the HXC. I went into disk manager and it claims that neither drive is initialized which I know is not correct. I tried just one drive each, same result. I tried initializing a new disk, and got disk error 31.
Is there something I might be missing, or is this controller most likely hosed?
Any tests that you recommend I try?

Yeah, this is where we need the "screen cap or it didn't happen" image.
The first time I saw this ebay item, I scoured the entire movie and took screen shots of every keyboard I found and posted it here. There is no TI anywhere in the movie, not even in the background, on a shelf or under a couch.

Driving Demon:
Some of us know this as the music from the Commodore 64 ads.

Are the turns random or do you have an actual track path? How hard would it be to have multiple track layouts? Pole Position actually used all the turns at Fuji speedway, without the elevation changes.

I may have gotten confused with several projects around here.
I want to be clear, this is a 32k ram expansion for the side port that replaces the need for 32k in a PEB or replaces the 32k internal ram mod correct?
No other bells whistles features or doodads right? An amazing accomplishment for sure, just trying to set my expectations properly, it can not; for instance, core a apple.
I'm sorry, if this doesn't core fruit, I'm out.

Heartbreaking, my condolences. I can't imagine what his wife is going through.

The MIST C64 core does have Jiffydos included. I think i got the first version with Jiffydos about a month ago. Also, while the C64 core doesn't currently support cart images, the Vic20 core and several others do, so it is definitely possible and will likely show up on the C64 core at some point.
How do you activate JiffyDos?
-
No JiffyDOS??
You'll have to program that mod yourself

That should read "forum admins", stupid mobile phone autocorrect function

I think Admins should be henceforth be known as admits.

I've been impressed with how much like the original systems the emulation is. I was playing a game on the C64 that felt perfect in terms of emulation speed. The down side is that it has no way of using a C64 cartridge. I forgot how slow a machine without fastload is.
