Open the top, and turn the box upside down. If the Zonkers fall out, this is the bottom. If they fall up, this is the top. If nothing happens, this box is empty.
~As seen on the bottom flap of a box of Screaming Yellow Zonkers...

And I am awaiting friends from out of town,...Then another friend and his GF are bringing by some homemade wine, A sample from their forthcoming Wine Bar! I wish he was bringing some homebrew beer as he's really good at that, but it will be cool. In town we already have various Microbreweries and one Whiskey/Moonshine place so a Wine Bar is more needed I suppose.

Went to the Dentist today. And they've added a small arcade! Games set to Free Play while you wait. Just 4 games, but still! A very nice surprise...They had SF Rush 2049, some fishing game, another racer called California (something)..And Incredible Hulk Pinball from 1979. I was late to my appointment so only played a quick game of Pinball on my way out the door, it had no sound,...Other people were just sitting there looking at their phones, which made me feel weird, but still it is cool! Maybe I'll get a pic next week, I'm going back in...

Had to do a firmware update on my toaster, defragged my curtains, changed the OS on my light bulb, reset my lawnmower, degaussed my vacuum cleaner, power cycled my patio furniture... but it's all good, at least I didn't have to find the right drivers for my turtleneck sweater.

Looks like the stories are true. I stopped in the Goodwill a while back and they had around 100 video games. Each one said on it somewhere, NHL, MLB, Madden, or Kinect Adventures, whatever the F that is. My guess is that now donations go into 3 piles: Ebay, Amazon, and stuff so awful they might as well just leave it in the stores.

I'm not sure if they're still doing this, but in Charlotte there was a Goodwill retail location that was solely focused on electronics and had quite a good game selection. I forget what it was called (something like Goodwill: Electronics, but not that), but I looked it up at the time (2015-ish) and they were rolling out these locations in several large-ish cities and I figured they were funneling the good stuff to those locations.
-
@copper20 Oh I probably should have specified, Games were only for PS1 and PS2, and XBOX, XBOX 360 (sometimes Wii). 20 or more of each title. No carts to be seen ever. A long time ago, a different goodwill location had a boxed Atari 2600 for $30, and I didn't buy it because it sounded like there was dirt or gravel rolling around inside the box LOL!
Actually for electronics I've lucked out in the past, having bought a boombox, a 6 disc CD changer (I wanted to have a spare one), and some cables...Strangely I paid more for the cables than I did for the boombox or CD player hehaa...

Passing thought: I think there's 3 kinds of songs, when it comes to Great Songs* anyway. Songs where the music is great; Songs where the lyrics are great; And (the more rare) Songs where the music and lyrics are both great.
*This will vary based on your tastes of course. And this doesn't generally apply to instrumentals, ambient, atmospheric, or noise tracks...

I actually don't keep lists, but I think of "favorite songs" in a couple distinct categories-
Songs with a "vibe" I just like, usually a good chorus, and then-
Songs that seem "perfectly constructed".
Falling to Pieces, by Faith no More, and Your Betrayal, by BFMV would fall into the latter category, as I wouldn't call them "favorite songs", but as a musician, it's a "nailed it" kinda thing.

Here’s back in January:
Even if cold, its pretty.

Blizzard here! At least a foot and a half of snow, Wind starting to howl, Power just flickered, can barely see across the street. I'm watching the movie Outland (Paused). I went out on my sunporch and thought I saw movement outside. I shined my flashlight on the ground, and saw what at first glance looked like footprints in my backyard, right on the other side of the glass...Then Something fell right in front of me! Turns out, the snow had built up on the power lines and the wind was knocking it off in big chunks, which caused the movement and the prints! *(I may need some different pants! LOL)*

Circus Convoyers, I'm not switching browsers! Raisin Bran, More Raisins Please! WalMart, Price your paper plates already, and get in some shredded Sharp cheddar cheese, not Finely shredded! And quit running out of Coffee Mate. Shoelace guys, Make'em shorter! Don't want'em flopping down on some men's room floor. Toilets, How 'bout a sensor that turns off the water before it crests over the rim? YouTube, your Ads are full of lies! save2600 you delete too much. Yanny, it's pronounced Laurel. Adobe, Stop with the updates already and (Oh wait..Ignore that one)... Christ! We can put a Rover on Mars, but I can't order an Atari game!

You may be in luck Doc! Circus Convoy got moved to tomorrow...But it seems like (maybe) those of us who use Firefox are not seeing countdowns. I don't have Chrome anymore on my desktop...Oh there it is on my laptop, but IDK...We'll see if I'm in the bathroom tomorrow when this thing goes live and if I feel like using Chrome when it should work on Firefox numsaying?

Imagine a Pteranodon. Now think of that sound they make. So I ask you, if Pteranodons have been extinct for 85 Million years, How did you know what sound they make?

The other day at the Doughnut shop I made the mistake of trying something called PinkBerry. It had pink frosting and was presumably a cross between Strawberry and Raspberry. Instead it tasted like a cross between, SUGAR, MORE SUGAR, Refined Extra SUGAR, and Holy Goddamn Frick that's a lot of SUGAR!!
It was worse than Awful...Felt like I needed a gallon of Bourbon to unclog my arteries...

Dear Metallica,
Ignoring the good songs and often amazing production, Every vocal line on every album since the black album, has ended with the syllable "EEEYUH!" I know I've been asking since the 90's, but can we please go back to the way it was?

I passed a kidney stone earlier. Took Alleve for the pain, then drank a drink made up of Vinegar, Lemon Juice, MCT Oils, Kick Ass Immune Activator (just 2 dropperfuls), and Gatorade. I had a chaser of Gatorade, and also drank some water...and 20 minutes later I was fine. I'm not sure if this drink is the cure, but I've never gotten over one so quickly!

I bought an N64 in 2009 for $25 w, hookups, joysticks and memory. Then bought about 20+ games for $2 each*. Just got an Everdrive (cheapo). So I pulled it out for the second time. How do you guys hook yours up? ATM I'm going S-Video to HDMI (which looks great for Genesis) but it looks crummy. I've been meaning to get a Retro Tink Pro 2X (or equivalent), anyone tried the Super 64?
*Damn, but times have changed! In 2014, I also sold an N64 to a girl I worked with for $25 with Zelda and joystick, hookups etc.

@joeatari1 Thanks Joe! And Thanks all! After SNES and Genesis, I was a PlayStation guy. Seems like the PlayStation still looks a lot better on the screen. I do like N64's exotic controller. Outside of SONY, it's the last time the D-Pad was in the right spot. Modern consoles always put the analog stick where the D-Pad goes if you ask me.

Thanks for returning my ointment, but next time you borrow it, could you wipe off the applicator before returning it?

-9 (RealFeel -27) I'm dressed in layers, Gonna go shovel my walk and take out trash...When I do leave, like for work on cold days*, I leave my Winter hat on like I'm a South Park character, except I take it off to go to bed and take a shower (Unlike the South Park kids which I always found funny)...
*I'm on days off following a COVID test (Negative BTW), I really haven't even left the house since Friday. Despite going a little stir crazy, I'll probably try to stay in til Tuesday when I have work again.

So...A TIA, a RIOT, and a MARIA walk into a bar...
And the bartender says:
Cool! I'm hungry for a bowl of chips!
and He puts them in a bowl and eats them!
Haaaaa!
Now ...Who does that?
If a chip can walk it should not be eaten, I always say.

AtariAge is a nice way to pass the time. I'm waiting for Amazon to deliver some parts so I can fix my dryer, Again. I think I'm gonna make some burritos.

Aww, the dilemna of the DIYer. We watch YouTube vids and search Google to learn how to repair something, but chances are we'll never encounter another situation like that again so our hard-won experience is kinda wasted. Or the next model we get is completely different.
I do sometimes repair household stuff and cars for a friend, so sometimes I get to use what I learned or some of the knowledge is transferable. Makes me envious of an appliance repair man. He's been there, done that, and will use the knowledge over and over everyday.
-
Yeah, usually I'm about as mechanical as a pound of whale blubber, but I've been learning on this one, which started when I watched the repairman do it. Then some trips to the appliance store to buy parts and the guys behind the counter started teaching me some things, some YouTube and troubleshooting and I think I have some of it figured out! At very least I know how to replace run fuses, the heating element, and thermal fuses...And I think I figured out why she's running so hot, not the vent (which had already been cleaned professionally) as I thought, but a pretty clogged up lint catcher (whatever that part is called haha) even after it had been cleaned. Tonight I scrubbed it so I could see the screen part underneath again and hopefully it works for while this time! If not, I bought some spares (extra heating element, some thermal fuses) to make it work. If it keeps dying, I may have to just buy a new one, but hopefully it will last a bit. It's probably 17 years old

I think Amazon Returns are the biggest pain in the ass there is. Details are missing and wrong, your account never will show a plus balance, it uses your refund for Prime without telling you, Clicking on it will Always say wait 7 days and it will show up in your back account or credit card when in fact it was already applied to orders as if it were reward points...And to top it all off I had to ReOrder the part at a higher price because a replacement was never offered (when That was what I asked for)...**End of rant**

I've been doing Amazon returns through the app as opposed to web interface for some time because of exactly the problems you're describing. It's better, but by no means stellar. Refund information is at least condensed into small-enough screen real estate that it's harder to send the refund to the wrong place, though not totally impossible.
-
Thanks all! Yeah the GF feels HORRIBLE about it. It's basically a change to their screens on the computer / browser, which now (as of a few months ago, from what I can tell of the many complaints on reddit etc) defaults to "refund to your Amazon account". With a much smaller print option to "Refund to your credit card ending in XXXX". And one of the reasons it confused her was that we use an Amazon Visa (via Chase, earns Amazon points etc), so she biffed it thinking our Amazon account was our Visa. They really, REALLY need to specify "return to GIFT BALANCE" or something similar, not "to your amazon account". It's purposely misleading, and in combination with the new default setting being that, you KNOW they designed it on purpose. And yeah, we won't be making THAT mistake again!

Anyone else have a LAVA LAMP growing up?
-
I saw a bee yesterday! Flying around the mostly melted snow drifts. The high was 59, but I didn't expect to see a bee flying around outside in the middle of Winter!
-
I wanted marshmallows and raisins, so I just ate a bowl of Count Chocula Raisin Bran (just mixed'em together) while I watched some Lost in Space. Who says ya can't have it all?

Remember in 1981, when everyone could use their pop tabs to spell out P E P S I S P I _ I T, but nobody had an R?
